    Well done tutorial - explains everything without being condescending. Outstanding!

    I really like your choice to leave the shoulder armor off. Never liked how the newer Hammerers and Longbeards looked like they were wearing full suits of gromril just like the Ironbreakers, and I think this goes a long way to address it. Great paint jobs, great video.

      I will say that I built a set of 10 Ironbreakers and left the shoulders off on all of them aside from the leader of the unit. I really liked the way it made him stand out so that could be worth doing if you like that

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The leaders for both units still have them, I think they came moulded to the arms for those models, though I would have probably added them anyway.

      They look far bulkier and tougher with the pauldron on.

    Pronouncing Vallejo as "Valaya" is the most dwarfish thing in the video XD. Good job as usual!

    Can’t wait to watch! I’m having a ball stealing your techniques and painting up the oldies. Not sure if I’ll play OW, but I’ve been snatching up the made to order stuff like it’s ‘92!

    I really dig the idea with leaving out the pauldrons. Its something I might end up copying.

    Awesome looking dwarfs. It’s been said many times already but the lack of shoulder pads do make them look more old school. Totally cool for the leaders to have them and obviously it is a personal preference so anyone putting the whole unit together with the pads isn’t wrong to do so.
    Definitely looking forward to the dwarf release and the access to more metal dwarfs that guaranteed haven’t been painted up yet

    Great painting tutorial. I am just painting a few dwarfs myself and i went for the "new" color scheme for Barak Var - so sea green / emerald.
    And you can do some very good green metallics if you put green contrast paints over the silver.

    They look great, spraying metals is by far my favorite way to apply them. Re your units, I've gotten more milage out of King in Longbeards and BSB in hammerers, but I run Grungni so YMMV. Either way buy them drilled, you won't be disappointed.

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was thinking about swapping them around and trying them both ways as I couldn’t make my mind up. What was your rationale for that way around (and what size units do you run)? Drilled seems to be the thing for sure.

    • @jtrain9926
      @jtrain9926 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MiniatureRealms at 2K I run 17 hammerers with BSB and Grungni and either 14 or 17 Longbeards with King on shieldbearers. The hammerers hit so hard they can handle basically anything on their own and they are flimsier so having the 5++ save really helps them. They can also all issue and accept challenges so they protect the BSB better than the 1 champion in the longbeards.
      Longbeards with a king can always shieldwall vs a hard hitting charge and the king can keep swinging away to whittle the enemy down.

    Brilliant - comment for the comment God!
    Your brown recipes have been so helpful! I still do chocolate brown then German camo pale brown.
    Previously you went flat earth, beige brown then tan earth (thinking of your city of sigmar mordheim video), what was the reason for dropping beige brown?

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I found it was a middle step that’s not always needed, especially on smaller areas like on these. If I was doing a larger area it would likely find its way back.

    For the gold; have you ever tried Skeleton Horde over silver?

      I’ve not tried skeleton horde, but have used similar glazes, normally a yellow.

    I’m using the second edition plastics for Longbeards, Thunderers, Quarrelers and Rangers. Bought a bunch super cheap when Fantasy died back in 2015(?).

    Can you start leaving your paints used listed in the description

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s something I’ve done from time to time, but time usually gets the better of me I’m afraid and I forget. Unfortunately I don’t often note them down, so to do it now I’d I’ve to watch my own video or I may miss-remember.
      I do appreciate it would be useful to some, but many who want to follow all or part of it just make a note of it when I hold up the bottle and say the same in the video.
