Love the hand-drawn diagrams. That makes sense to me and makes me feel like I can do it too. Like Mikey The Great!! Thank you so much Mikey! You are clear and precise about your instructions. The best.
Thank you so much for the explanation. I was looking for multiples in another pattern called wattle stitch. Based on your tutorial I think it should be multiples of 2, plus 1. It's 1sc 1ch 1dc in 4th ch from hook and the foundation chains were 31. But if like to increase to make a bigger project. Can you let me know if the multiple I calculated is right? Please?
I am making a v-neck vest for my husband and I am using a single crochet and a dbl crochet in the same stitch skip one and it repeats all the way ending with a single crochet in a base chain of 56. I would like to know how to encrease and when to start the encrease. Also, if you have some tips on how to decrease for the sleeves and the v-neck. Thank you kindly.
Great idea I normally do a random number of ch then start oart of the pattern then look at my swatch ant mark it out with markers and pencils on paper - that was a really complicated pattern though. Who cares if its crude *If it works it works!!*
If you wanted a blanket 5ft wide you still need to figure out how many chain will give you one inch. Convert the 5ft to inches, which is 60, then say you have four chain to one inch. Divide 60 by 4. If you are working singles add one for a turning chain, if using half doubles add two, if using double crochet add two or three for turning chain- your choice.

Hi,
I have one question, what ** means in crochet pattern ?
how can you establish multiples when the second row starts a decease or increase?

SAAAWEEET!
Crochet an odd number
A Crochet Stitch Encyclopedia will tell you the the multiples Most patterns will have the multiple count
