He didn’t win because his voice is sometimes just too much. Sometimes you just need to just sing the song, be true to the song and keep it simple. He sometimes got too caught up in the vocal gymnastics. It sometimes gets old when you’re at a 10 all the time. This is a perfect example of why we really haven’t heard much from him since the show.

He's been in love but he can't talk about it. That's EASILY the best version of Without You out there. His version is better than Mariah Carey's and that's a big deal. I'd say his version of this is second only to Harold Melvin's. Best singer on Idol by far. I have no idea how he didn't win. My woman agrees that his soulful shit is amazing.
