Time Spiral was excellent to draft. This is when I came back to Magic. Time Spiral, Futuresight and Planar Chaos draft pools were insanely fun. You never knew what you'd run into. SO much nostalgia. Definitely my 2nd favorite block after Urza's.
Aww nostalgia. 2006 is when I started playing magic when my boyfriend built a deck for me and it consist of a lot of Time Spiral cards. We're married now. And we still play magic together.

Man, I love these boxes. As an older player, these openings with the timeshifted cards and the foils in particular are just amazing :) Also I guess the last time we saw Dominaria and of course the card references and easter eggs are the best!
loved this set, this was when I made a sick sliver deck, used some good old ones and some new. The foils were insane, got a ton of them

Man it takes me back. I wasn't ever good at the game but I collected the cards. I still have a few at home... I remember I loved "Force Of Nature"... Can't explain why but I loved that card :)

Dude, back in the day I used to play Green/white and throw spirit link on Force of Nature... brutal attacker and no need to pay the upkeep. In before "dies to removal" comments...

This was an amazing Block to play. I miss it. This was the block before the dreaded planeswalkers were made.
So much damn nostalgia Rudy. I was like. 10 years old. I still remember spending my allowance on these packs.
According to the MTGSalvation forums: "Tourney Box = 36 rare, 120 uncommon, 384 common, 360 basic land [72 each]; Booster Box = 36 rare, 108 uncommon, 396 common."
So, for sets like Ravnica, you definitely want the Tourney Box.
If they are roughly the same price, yes you do.

I've been watching for a week or two, really takes me back. The last set I bought was I think exodus, I played an elf deck and a goblin burn deck, the more complicated the game got, the worse I got, so I stopped. Not sure what became of my cards, probably sold them, it's cool to see cards that I assumed were junk are now worth a good amount! I can remember winning a black lotus at the card shop, definitely beat up, I traded it for some cards more useful to my deck. If only I had the foresight. Thanks
To me they killed Slivers when they made them "Your slivers get X" instead of "All sliver get X".
Slivers where blessed for a long time but alot of mtg players I remember been either I love them or hate them much lile infect XD
Why would that kill sliver for you isn't that a positive thing? now u don't benefit your opponent if they have something with all creature types or when you try to change and take an opponent's creatures using things like amoeboid changeling and sliver overlord.

The art you're talking about around 12:00 is Rebecca Guay's art. Her stuff is phenomenal.

She lived in the same town i did when i was growing up in Massachusetts. she's older than me I never knew who she was because I never played magic as a kid I never played magic at all I do collect the cards now because of the art and hers is some of my favorite

Her Lorwyn art specifically is absolutely enchanting.
I remember being a kid playing Time Spiral block sealed leagues at my library. It was ran by two people and we regularly had 12-24 people show up. The timeshifted cards were really fun to experience as a novice, and the higher complexity of the block made literally every game feel different because every card was different. It wasn't like today's limited of Aggro, Control, or 70% Midrange, it felt like a complex story with many different outcomes. The art was also much darker than previous years, both in a setting and depiction kind of sense.
I'm hoping Wizards restores that feeling in Dominaria. Amonkhet was a really Dominaria-feeling world, now we just need new lottery cards.
As for "Man, wizards would never do this anymore" they definitely do. They just raise the price, call it a "masters" booster, and make it a lottery card in there once a set at mythic.

When this stuff was current was about the time I stopped collecting and playing. Morningtide was the last set i bought from. Pretty nostalgic. Watching him go through these is like looking through a few of my folders.
That one pack had Merfolk Assassin and War Barge in it. Nasty combo.

We really need time-shifted cards again. I would love to see more modern cards with old school borders. Shock-lands, filter-lands, planeswalkers, etc.

Back in Time Spiral there was a sub-set of cards that were reprints of older cards. They had the old frame, but got the Time Spiral set symbol in purple. Each booster pack included one and the tournament starter decks had 3. I just think it would be cool to see that again, only kinda reversed with modern cards getting the old-school treatment.
They are sort of doing that, not in the timespiral way, but by basic reprints. Battlebond has an 80 card printed like 10-11 years ago

Dear Rudy, Somewhat recently, somewhere in Mesopotamia, someone invented "Scissors". They greatly simplified the opening of plastic-encased items, like MTG packs. Highly recommended tool for any household.
This makes me want to sort through all my all Timespiral again! I bought shed loads because i loved the theme of the set and the Slivers!

This video is special for me. It was Time Spiral, when I started playing MTG and it was my first ever prerelease event. Recently I returned to play Magic: Arena, wish I could afford to buy real paper cards. Great video nevertheless, brought back sweet memory!

I have old cards somewhere, in storage, I cant remember where but ill have to dig them out.
I havent touched magic since i played in tournaments. Which was probably 5-8 years ago. Not that long but still a long time. Its always been fun. Shadowmoor specifically holds a special place for me.
Oh the good times...remember buying original Ravnica, Time Spiral and Lorwyn Tournament packs in a town near me for 4-5 dollars a pack...damn the nostalgya. :')

Yeah TSP and PLC are awesome for EDH. I think we are due for a time spiral like set. It was very unique and and complex set. This was back before WOTC built your standard deck for you.

I miss those days. did that prerelease at a card store thats now closed. was so much fun. there was printing errors, but only the coloring
Played in highschool during the Ice-age-5th-Mirage era. Stopped with Tempest. Started playing again with Time Spiral and holy crap was that a fun block for someone that had so much nostalgia for the game. Characters quoted but never had a card like Lim Dul, or Saffi. Then the Time-shifted bringing back cards I remembered playing when I was a freshman. After this was Planar Chaos and all the alternate versions, altered history. What if Crovax was good? What if Braids wasn't insane? Colorshifted spells like Wrath of God becoming Damnation. Prodical Sorcerer becoming red. I quit(and haven't really played since) with Future Sight. I think it really was the nostalgia that got me playing during that time, was the perfect time and then that time was past.
I will watch it all and It does effect my life when you win I win Rudy love your videos!!!

Time Spiral block is my favorite block of all time.
I used to have a spike deck, turned into my WBG Ghave EDH deck, still use the Spike Weaver and, I think, Spike Feeder. btw, charge counter lands work good with proliferate once you buy into one counter.
I wish they would bring back starter decks.

I was just talking to my son today about discontinued starter decks. All time fail story right here, I opened a lot of Tempest starters and was lucky to pull either Cursed Scroll, Scroll Rack, Time Warp out of nearly every one i bought. If i didn't get one of them i always got a damn benthic behemoth. Long story short i ran into a kid one day at school and he wanted all 12 of my cursed scrolls (which were $20 back then) and handed me an Unlimited Ancestral Recall as his trade offer.......which i declined......and still regret it to this day. Funny how a simple thought about starter decks always brings up that sore memory.
awe man timespiral was my jam in the day. I still think paradox haze is one of the coolest cards. I had a friend who pulled both Acromas in the same pack, one time shifted.

ah i miss that set. slivers were one of the strongest, but i played g/b thallids abusing death spore's -1/-1 as a kill mechanic early on. with doubling season and call to arms as the essential kill cards

Innistrad came out like 7 years ago and I feel like that shit just came out because I have no sense of time as an adult without a yearly progression to my existence.
Mystical Teachings is one of the best common foils to hit, its played in one of the strongest pauper decks around
