Way back in the day, I remember getting my friend into Magic cards, and his first (and only) foil after opening the handful of initial packs he bought was a holographic Plains. I remember him getting so pissed for some reason, lol, yelling out "WHY did it have to be a holographic PLAINS card?!" He had only just started and he already knew land cards were generally nothing to get excited about ;)
Man, I have a pretty decent collection of foil lands. Easily 100-200 foil lands in total. When I used to play I loved collecting them. Whenever I was doing a trade and needed a couple dollars more for their side of the deal, i would try to get foil lands.

Cracking MTG packs has been ruined for me, my first box was a draft box of AFR that had 17 mythics. Every box ive opened since then has just felt so terrible cause ill never hit as hard as i did my first box
7:18 The card selection in the set has to do with limited play (draft and sealed). Each color needs a certain number of cards to do the things that particular color does. So there, now you know.
They are saying that the foil cards were cut poorly from the factory when they were being made, and that just by looking at the edges, they know when a foil is coming

I got a lottery battlebond box the other day. Got doubling season, mycosynth lattice, najeela, 2 seedborns, brightling, 4 of the rare lands and a foil true-name, people around me were stunned.
I just got my 11 year old daughter into MTG over the summer. One of my local stores was having a deal on buy a Blessed Vs Cursed duel pack and get 2 packs for free. She picked 2 core set packs and pulled a Bolas. Talk about beginners luck.

Hi Rudy! I can confirm that my box had eight mythics in it too, including a foil bolas and regular bolas. I sold the mythics back to the store alone for 150 Canadian
I opened 2 boxes, got 6 mythics and 30 rares in box 1 as well as a 7th mythic in the foil slot (foil Liliana). In box 2 I got the exacts same 6 mythics and the exact same 30 rares, the only difference was the foil slots, instead of a second foil Lili I got a Foil amulet of safekeeping instead.
I also noticed that the randomization is really bad, has been bad in Dominaria already. When I open a box or go on a little spending spree in my LGS I tend to get a lot of the same rares. Which sucks. Because it basically means it's not a good bet to by a lot at the LGS any more, but rather order online, preferrably from different sources.
To be honest, if I ever opened a 1 Mythic box I don't think I would ever buy a booster box from that location again, I would always be thinking that they map their boxes.

3:20 Most people are just going keep the cards they open anyways. So whether they open $15 or $250 it isn't gonna matter financially. Is your average player who opens a box really "losing money" or "making money" on this? No, the cards are just gonna go into the collection anyways. Any by the time they sell their collection 5 - 10 years from now (if ever) the prices will be totally different.

Opened a box today that had Scapeshift, Crucible of Worlds, Tezzeret, Bolas and Resplendent Angel. All those great cards and then I didn't even get a foil rare or mythic... Also had 1 foil card that got caught in the crimping and one that was missing part of the name.

I split a box break for Ixalan with some buddies and collectively, only got like 2-3 mythics but they all were not good ones. I got the Jace Cunning Castaway.
As of the writing of this, the combined value of rares+ worth 2$+ in this video is 217.71$, barely above the price of 2 boxes. Meanwhile, I bought a box of Dominaria and organized a draft with 7 friends, so I had 4 boosters left over (we had a prize pool of 8 boosters), and I decided to open them. The first 3 had nothing in them (the draft pool was also incredibly lacking in money with a single Lyra as the sole money card), and then on the very last booster of the box, I opened a foil Karn :D

I’ve only had 2 boxes, an M19 and a Ravnica Allegiance. M19 I pulled 6 Mythics and RNA I pulled 5 mythics.
I opened a box of bfz and it had 11 mythics the weird part was a lot of the were duplicates I got the crappy white mythic 3 fucking times!!!!

I opened a 1 mythic box(omniscience) and 6 dupe rares. The print runs in this set make me want to not buy boxes.
