how did you blue the two edges of fiberclass between the mold and the one in the boat ? I am kinda worried about this bond, even after laminating figerglass from the bottom of the boat and inside the boat. I'm having to do the same on my boat, but I am extending only 6 inches long. would you give me some hints ? I will be using polyester resin , plywood for the transom and fabric for the hull.
Thats definitely the best and right way to do it. But in this case I wanted to see the piece first before I cut the transom, because my mold wasnt 100% perfect..
Hello! Actually its not going very well with this project... Maybe have to sell it unfinished because we have two bigger boat projects coming. If so I have no space and time to finish this project ;/ But we well see.
sadly this was the last video about this project. I bought bigger powerboat (project) and didnt have enough motivation to finish this small project. Hopefully new owner will get this boat also on water!
Hey, Thanks for your comment! My plan was to attach it by glassing it from both sides into the existing hull. Then new stringers from middle of the boat to the back of the boat.

Why didn’t u jus glass it to the boat while it was in the mold lol

Why not cut the transom (assuming it’s good) with a foot or so of the sides of the hull and scoot that back and fill the void with fiberglass?

Thanks, I lined it with 2x4 boards. It took much of measuring and adjusting, but it was worth it.
