    Thank you Kristian for another great video, I enjoy the pace and the fact that you challenge us to learn new things and ways of approaching designs.

    4:54 you can also hold down the mouse button and it will give you a drop-down menu with all construction lines, constrains, faces or whatever is overlapping at this point. For anyone who didnt know. its quite handy and saves you the effort of moving around dimensions or finding a different angle to look at

      Sometimes the selection prioritizing in Fusion throws me a curve ball ;)

    Great video! I usually design practical parts or parts for 3D printers. I was struggling to find a way to create a planter with a more complicated design. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you! Followed along and was able to make my own. Thanks for consistently saying what keys and such you are pressing.

      Thank you. I'll try and do my best in future videos but sometimes I forget saying things, if something is unclear ask a question :)

    Great tutorial - Do you know why I can change the dimension parameters through the modify/change parameters drop down, but can't just adjust the dimensions from the sketch like you did around 10minutes?

      It should work the same. my general tip if Fusion misbehaves is to restart the software

    How do you set the thickness of the sides and the top and bottom layers?

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you want constant thickness you can use Shell like I do at 9:45

    Thank you for explaining how to make these geometric designs. I was thinking about the concentric polygon and loft, but those only connect singular points and not multiple (afaik).
    I like your joyful explaining 😀

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried using Loft but it didn't produce a stable model. The fun with 3D modeling there are always more ways to do things :)

    • @MrLexhoya
      @MrLexhoya 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That and it makes you try other ways of doing the same thing.

      @@KristianLaholm I was wondering something. I try to make designs that are easily changed. I set 2 parameters, the circle diameter and the number of segments in the polygon. For some reason, when I change these parameters, sometimes F360 throws a tantrum, mostly when I make the number of segments higher than my initial designm(it will show gapes when I go lower). I would think, that the extra segments (patches) you make are tied to the base shape. If I change the parameter, it fails, or should I scroll back in the timeline to do this? Probably I need to look for a mathmatical explanation in the shape (hope this makes sense in a way). (hobby project by the way)

      @@MrLexhoya There is a problem if you change the number of bodies in a model with pattern. Fusion gives the bodies new names and features like Combine get confused as they are based the name of bodies.
      The same goes for like Extrude Cut if you add bodies in the extrude path they will not be cut. Some of this things can be a bit annoying then trying to make everything parametric.

    • @MrLexhoya
      @MrLexhoya 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KristianLaholm ah, thank you, that makes sense. Especially now I see the step before the stich; many bodies.

    Whenever I try to use the "equal" constraint my line disappears for some reason

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is that there is some other constrain to the line that makes it fly away. The other thing is of you have been playing around in Fusion for some time it's good practice to restart the software.

    Can you add curves to it to look more like vase

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A curve in what direction? If you want a more narrow design you can start with a different angle.

    Couldn’t you do this much easier with mesh?

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  ปีที่แล้ว

      What mesh tools are you thinking of? I have used reduce mesh making low poly things but the final model is a bit random.

      @@KristianLaholm The ones in Fusion when you Create Form. Seems like that environment one has a lot of control over forms that look a lot like what you made here., which is really good. Just wondering if you knew about that environment and the pros/cons of working with Forms/Mesh vs. the BReps.
