That was an interesting tip with the arc projection constaints. That could come in very handy. In this case you could also re-sketch an arc and make it co-radial to the original arc. (Maybe first projecting the original arc as a construction line. I forget if F360 allows constraints to non-projected geometry.)
Come to think of it, a better way would have been to sketch a centerpoint arc. With a centerpoint arc, I can start by clicking on the center of the original arc and then clicking on the top and bottom horizontal lines. And then dimension the offset.

I have a slight problem with the patching feature (as shown at 15:22). When I select the three lines to patch on top of the shape, my "OK" button is grey and I cannot press it to complete the procedure. Do you know where the problem could lie? I've already tried many things, but it stays and I cannot proceed with the design
Right at 8:03, where you hover over the endpoint for Body2(1), the body created from the 15 degree revolve. You cursor changes from an X to a square and allow you to snap the start of the line. Mine never does, it remains an X. Can't make it snap even with "Snap" ticked in the Sketch panel. Has anyone encountered this before???
I did figure this out. My default settings for Fusion 360 didn't have "Auto project edges on reference" selected. Once I toggled that (under Profile->Preferences) it snapped without any issue.
@@stevemcgraw7479 Yes, sorry that I did not mention this. This is a rather common question. I'm still trying to figure out a good way of mentioning this without being repetitive.
I am trying to reproduce your design, but when applying the patch function i can only select the straight edge 1 & 2 and not the curved one, either at the top or the bottom. So i am not able to close the body at the step. Any idea why this cannot be done ?
There seems to be a problem in posting a file without any bodies. I have reposted the file with the revolve. Please refer to the new link in the description. Sorry about this.
You might want to try experimenting with using a loft for the vertical strip and let me know your thoughts.
Here's wishing everyone a good year ahead!
Removing the projection constraint from the endpoint while the line keeps the offset/projection contraint is mindblowing.
This is the way to do it. No music, no drama. The relevant steps are shown without repetitions.
and not too fast, unlike some other creators
Probably one of the few contexts where saying "let's hide the body" doesn't get you into serious trouble :D
Love your videos. The stuff you demonstrate is always just outside my level of understanding - so I'm always learning new things. Nice job.
WOW, I would have struggled trying to figure this one out! 99% of the parts I make are sheetmetal, but I learn so much wachting your videos, Thank You

From the beginning of the video I thought the goal was to get planar facets and straight lines, but at the end the result is very similar.
Awesome technique and explanation!
Every single one of your videos I find myself saying “I didn’t know you could do that”
This is next level. Thank you
Very well done
Very clever!
Thx very good work.
Superb

How do you add the rough surface texture to a solid at marker 15 seconds. Great videos! Thanks
I applied a rough powder coat appearance.
@@Fusion360School Would that come through if you were to 3D print the model?

I use Cura and I think there is a "fuzzy skin" setting. Haven't tried it out yet though.

6:26.... how did you get the project automatically?
Go to preferences -> general -> design. And activate auto project edges on reference.
how did you drag the point to terminate the top edge? it wasn't locking on the edge whats so ever
I wish you included how to do the revolve to cut the inside of it.
You just need to select the same profile at 15:18, then Create > Revolve, and finally set the operation to Cut.
how do you design shoes in fusion?

Is it possible you have a gap somewhere? That may prevent the patch from working.
@@redryderausi will check. How to identify a gap easily ?
@@PierreMilcent I haven't done this (yet). Maybe the mirror did not join the two surfaces?
SOLVED : I think i found the problem : there is a gap indeed, it comes from the line during the sketch at 8'04".

How the fk does your mind work? :) I would never have figured this out in a million years
😅To be fair, I did not come up with this workflow. This was based on a method posted in the forum.
