Not engine wise, but use the similar parts of a gt3 homologation car in the tesla and now we be talking about who is BETTER. Tires alone were holding back this car Since corner 1. I could go on
I have Model 3 Performance upgraded for the track near the ring. It has much harder sport suspension, it sits 30mm lower, much more camber, solid rear arms, much higher rate sway bars, much more precise steering bushings, significantly larger and better cooling (~4 times) brakes, high temp pads and fluid, 20% wider and 40% taller tires, lighter 19 vs 20 inch forged rims, 4 points harness for the driver. It doesn't yet have aero upgrades - I'm waiting for UPP results of CFD and Pikes Peak test, but it's already night and day vs stock. If you're interested to compare - let me know, I will come. I believe that for the Ring regenerative braking can be dialed back with large brakes (plus you guys didn't switch off a/c), so it can be kept on full power the whole time.
One of your most interesting videos. Well done. Your driving skills well shown here. With brakes gone and poor street tires you still kept up with experienced GT3 in a car you had never driven. Most interesting. Minor changes to suspension, tires and breaks and this car is pretty fit for the track.

Yeah in 10 years or so 😂
Hey Misha, You know we've got those performance brakes on the shelf for that Model 3 in the Netherlands right? 2-piece rotors US made, hit us up and re-track it!
Looks like brakes are going to have to be upgraded a little earlier than expected
My first "experience" of a tesla, was after I got new hearing aids just a couple of months ago. I was driving my Astra with windows open in town when a Model 3 went by the other way at about 20 mph. I heard the weight of the car from the tire noise!!!!
1:33 "He will cool down after the Fahrt."

Better brakes, better suspension, better tires and you're fast as f*** 😳
Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on this car. A very good tire.
If it can keep up with a GT3 RS until the brakes wear out then it needs just better brakes. Better tires are always good though, imagine the same pilot 4s but 285 or whatever is on the Porsche instead of 235 like 2020 Priuses have!
MrAdoh2010 reality check - a Tesla model 3 performance is not remotely on the same level as a gt3rs on track...no matter what brakes.
Need another car 😂😂😂 not this battery with wells
@@jameshuegli3534 Actually it really would. A slightly moded 3 for the track should hold its own with a GT3 over one lap. But it could literally only do it for 1 lap where as the GT3 would just continually pump out the same lap for the next hour. Laguna Seca lap record for example a stock standard Tesla 3 performance is 1.5 seconds different to a GT3. The model S is significantly faster then the GT3. You up the brakes and suspension on the 3 and make a few tweaks they would be a match. But like I said only for 1 lap. After that the GT3 would be lapping the 3 while its battery cools or recharges
That was a VERY impressive run! Especially considering it's a 2+ ton 4-door sedan! To be able to fairly much keep up with the Porsche(with all the performance mods and goodies it has) and to do it SO quietly is really beyond belief! Just think if the 3 had better brakes and tires and suspension? Porsche...look out!

Very cool! Kudos to the generous owner for sharing his car.
wow the car kept up with GT3RS without upgraded suspension. Pretty impressive. Minor modifications will greatly make it a real track monster....
So great to see a drive like you go nuts with a Tesla. Just great driving without going over the top in your video. Love it!
Surprisingly quick. As I'm sure many have said, some performance parts and a bit of weight loss it would be a great daily and occasional lap car.
Hopefully with a solid state battery it can one day shed 500 pounds and have increased thermal endurance too.
Pretty damn impressive for a heavy sedan. I’m sure the Porsche driver was wondering what was going on for sure. It would definitely be interesting to see what upgraded brakes and suspension would do with Misha behind the wheel again.
While it is heavy compared to a light petrol car, do check weight of Polestar 2 and Taycan :p
well, it's just 150kg more than the Giulia Quadrifoglio
It might be heavy, but not compared to the modern sedans around
@@dallatorretdu To top if off, most of the weight in the Tesla is in the floor. That should help a lot with handling.
Clout A low centre of gravity in a heavy car is not as good as simply a light car
It wasn’t even close 😂
I can keep up with a GT3RS??? Hahahahaha
The novice track drivers and their comments kill me. It’s ALL about the DRIVER. Put the same skilled driver in the GT3RS and you will never see it again after a few corners.
Yeah, of course. GT3RS went easy and the Model 3 went more easy because he was driving with no breaks. But the Model 3 driver in the GT3RS? Hahaha! That GT3RS will be flying. Nobody will catch that thing lmao.
The porsche will go about a minute faster with a good driver
That was amazing, Tesla out the box is very impressive, but you have to admit, that Porsche sounded sweet....😍
One of your most interesting videos. Well done. Your driving skills well shown here. With brakes gone and poor street tires you still kept up with experienced GT3 in a car you had never driven. Most interesting. Minor changes to suspension, tires and breaks and this car is pretty fit for the track.

Nah, the Roadster won't do shit on the ring. Probably fast on straights, average on tracks.
9:54 "the Porsche driver will also think what's wrong"
His driver skill or track knowledge is what's wrong compared to Misha's obviously 😅
Can't entirely blame it on the driver. A Model Y CUV with coilovers and better brakes placed quite well during a time attack race among lots of 911 GT3 and GT3RSes. And that is the CUV version. A Model 3 Performance with those basic upgrades is formidable on the track.

@@flipadavis 2 seconds on that track is an eternity. It also plays into the differences, Tesla starts dying after a few minutes, the GT3 is designed to go all day...

@@Jaredscott89 Put Sascha in a Camry and see if he can keep up with a GT3 RS. Or even something like a stock Mustang GT. You can't just wave away the Model 3 Performance abilities because a great driver was driving it.

2 possible scenarios might be cool:
1) Tesla comes out with a 'Black Edition' or 'Track Edition' and fits better seats, brakes and suspension (and tires)
