I think I knew him before moving here (PNW) and I hung around in/near Memphis in the nineties. All I know is when I saw him in Portland, I knew it was him and invited him to a show he was already going to.
aknuthatch yes he does. Tried to get Dave to go with me to see HWA in Chicago but he's a work-a-holic & got a gig at the last minute (another hard working american musician).
