The world’s on fire
And I can’t get my arse out of bed
The world is on fire
There’s smoke all around my head
What was I thinking about when I crashed last night……
The oceans are rising
And I can’t do a thing about that
So it’s hardly surprising
I built an ark for me and my sleek black cat
What was I thinking about when I crashed last night……
Oh yes, turn off the gas and don’t forget to switch off the light
But that’s all right coz I’m a lazy sod and I’m hot
Don’t mind me coz I’m a lazy sod, you can like it or not
I’m guessing not
What was I thinking about when I crashed last night……
Oh yes, turn off the gas and don’t forget to switch off the light
That’s all right coz I’m a lazy sod and I’m hot, so hot
Don’t mind me coz I’m a lazy sod,
Whether you like it, like it or not
And I’m guessing not
Soooo what

Nearly 80 years old and still putting out good new music. Massive respect for the band
Old, but not rusty.
That track looks like following of Highway Star
My favourite band of all time.
Epic! Total HAILZ!!! 80?! really!? Yes, ok I get it. We'll then grandpa!!!! HAILZ! Well done, gentlemen!

Much respect for Gillian aging naturally, and he sounds great!
Truly great voice for his age, and the music sounds like classic Deep Purple. Fine new song

I really like this new song, it sounds like the classic purple. I am 37 years old, from Lima, Perú. I listen Deep Purple since i was a child, thanks to my father who was a big fan of deep purple. I have seen DP 3 times, in my country in 2008, and in Chile and Colombia in 2023, and this year i will travel again to Chile in order to see these monsters in september. Longlive to the best hard rock band ever!
Ok that is all fine and dandy, but like it nor not (guessing not), Ecuadorian ceviche is tastier than Peruvian ceviche.
Habe a nice existence!
It s Sound to modern because of the Equipment and His voice Sounds older too
I agree, it saounds like classic Deep Purple. I was in Lima for a few months in 1990, 1992 and 1993. We listened to a lot of Deep Purple among others back then. I had the experience of listening to the very first Deep Purple. I was one month from being born, I would hear only through the skin of my mother's belly. Close nearby a loud English band played at "Parkskolen" school.. Announced as "The Roundabouts", as they entered stage they announced they'd just decided upon changing their name to... Deep Purple. They played very loud. There's no chance I wouldn't have heard them.

Am 43 years old, when I was a child, Deep Purple was considered as an old classic rock band. I wish more youngsters enjoy their fantastic music
Same here, although I'm a few years older. I discovered Purple in the early 90ies through some friends and couldn't believe how lucky I was to see them live in '93 (one of the last shows with the class Mark 2 lineup). They were considered "rock dinosaurs" back then. Who would have known that they are alive and kicking in 2024?. They still sound very good, although the new songs are not as memorable for me, but they haven't been since Jon Lord left the band, over 20 years ago now. Notable exception: Nothing at all, I love this song.
they are old, to be fair. Some would call this new sound elevator music but hey, they can still rock and roll. I'll take it. And they are damn good live still
When I stared to listen to DeepPurple it was 1993 and everyone around me considered them an old band. I am 45 now.
@@dmytroklokol4030 I hear ya. They never faded away, imo. What's sad is most people today probably never heard of them
Same here. When I was a kid listening to Metallica and Megadeth visiting my dad one time. I decided to look through his vinyl collection... I stumbled upon Deep purple In rock, Machine head and Burn. I was like, what is this? It says Machine head on the cover... I know a band called Machine head... so I put it on... And I was not disappointed haha! Highway star, Child in time, Burn, and I was also blown away by the instrumental on Burn "'A' 200" which kind of reminded me of video game music I had heard. So that's when dots to Nobuo Uematsu started to materialise. It was a trip haha!
Rockstars never die. They just fade away. But these guys are still far from that. Great music 😊

An amazing song that shows that Deep Purple are literally immortal.
This is what I call pure rock. So tasteful. Thank god for bands like DP who is the perfect antidote to the modern rock scene that is lacking great melodic structure and creativity. This brings me back to their MK2 era. The first 3 songs from the new album are very promising 👌

I've been a DP fan since I first heard the Machine Head album in the early 70's. This has the classic sound, especially with the organ weaving through the song (RIP Jon Lord)🙏
Ja też mam słabość do DP 🤘🤘🤘
I have been playing guitar, but hearing the keyboard solos of bands like Deep Purple is making me want to re-learn the piano.🙂
Yes, by God, the Hammond organ belongs in rock. Jon Lord made it that way.
I really love Deep Purple's sound for the new album. Their songs are feel good, straight up rock songs.
Holy shit. New Purple!! I think the producer told the band "fellas, I gotta have more keyboard!" Awesome song

Older and older!
Deep Purple was my favorite Heavy Metal band in its first incarnation. It seemed like a Supergroup to me. I was and still am a Jazz guy first at age 64, but I still listen to Deep Purple.
Even without standouts Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore, I still love their sound. I liked Whitesnake and Rainbow as well, both of which I saw live in the late 1970s. I didn't get to see the Machine Head lineup until 1985.
My memories from my younger days do influence what I listen to today. Yet, I really like the current Lead Guitarist and Keyboardist. For this old fat guy, Deep Purple is still very relevant! The lineup from 2022 to the present has kick started my interest in Deep Purple to the point where I am purchasing the new songs. That's quite a feat, since I almost exclusively buy Jazz these days.

I am 67 and I grew up listening to Deep Purple's music, as a child, through high school and college. In fact it was Deep Purple's music that go me hooked to heavy metal. And I never tire of listening to their music. I often resort to Deep Purple's music in order to recharge my batteries. Their music will live forever.

No I do not live in years gone by but I did have wonderful times back then. The music was, is like none other music played nowadays. Не взирая на возраст Deep Purple остается Deep Purple. Как всегда высочайшая техника и шикарные композиции. Ждем весь альбом.
Deep Purple is well known for being one of the founding groups of hard rock. Their music had a significant influence on the development of genres such as heavy metal. Their 1972 album “Machine Head,” which included the hit “Smoke on the Water,” is often cited as a major influence in the rock world. Despite several line-up changes, Deep Purple continues to tour and produce music to this day. They left an indelible mark on the history of rock music.
Deep Purple is the reason I started playing the guitar and how I ended up being a musician.
Having been born in the early 90s, I obviously got into them way past their commercial peak. As a kid I fell into the 'I was born in the wrong era' trap.
But the lesson I learned from Deep Purple is the importance of being in it for the music. When Steve Morse joined in the 90s, the kind of hard rock Deep Purple was known for was no longer a thing (although their influence was certainly present in the grunge and post grunge of the time) but they still played with the same passion they always had, and probably even more so with the more wholesome vibe Morse brought to the band's chemistry.
I finally saw them live in 2006, when almost all the members were over or nearing 60. I missed the presence of Jon Lord but they replaced him with the only person who could, Don Airey. And boy, they played. My ears rang for 2 glorious days after the gig.
I got to see them again in 2023, playing a festival with much younger bands and while Gillan's voice had considerably weakened (which is allowed for a nearly-80 year old man), Glover and Paice still played like it Osaka in 1972, and Simon McBride more than delivered as Morse's successor.
And now, it's 2024, and I get a little emotional that these dudes, particularly Gillan, Paice and Glover are still making new music after over half a century while virtually all their 70s contemporaries either have either broken up or have sadly passed on.
Truly a one of a kind band.
Gentlemen - Ian-1, Ian-2, Roger, Don, Simon... absolutely amazing. I have a feeling Deep Purple is reborn. Sounds like the best decades of your 60 years presence on stage. This is Deep Purple at its best. Great sound, shaking riffs, absolute perfection in arrangements and instrumental masterpiece. So nice to see you in this perfect shape!

Thats the right way, we are back again💪
Yeah, new guitar player is such a lucky coincidence, he's really appropriate and helpful for the band , now we can clearly see that Morse burnt out musically through years. Best period of Morse was 96 - 2003. Afterwards albums are frankly boring. And this track really rocks! He brings new fresh blood and fire in the band!
As close to the original band
That’s the spirit of Deep Purple🔮 .. truly authentic really enjoying it
...the world still needs rock! There cannot be a bright future without guitar solos...everything started falling down when pop took the lead... :D
