As someone who owns one of the smaller King Dicks. I feel like LPL is really not realizing that it's not always the size of the tool you're using, but rather the technique you use. You can bludgeon someone's backdoor lock with a 36" tool, but it will cause irreparable damage. You cannot simply make up for bad form with a larger unit.
That catch mounted on the wall has to be the strongest thing Master Lock has ever made! It took pounding after pounding and still stayed there for the locks' friends to come along and pound it some more!
Carrying around that much pipe-laying tool was leave you lightheaded as the blood goes where it's needed. Can you imagine having to get through security with that thing?
They say: "it's not the size of the vessel but the motion in the ocean." true sailors say " It's neither the size of the vessel nor the motion in the ocean, but whether all passengers get off."
I have a 48" Rigid and it never fails to bust a nut. In fact, just resting it on a pipe causes it to loosen up. The downside is that I have to walk around with it slung over my shoulder because it's so heavy.
As a retired Universal Soldier, can confirm. Standard Operational Procdure was to let it hang low to the left, but we generally carried them over the shoulder. During covert ops, we might tie it something like a knot, or occasionally a bow.
@@ashtonhoward5582I actually had to dangle for work yesterday. I was a little nervous at first because two of my managers were watching me dangle, but one of them said I was the best dangler they'd ever seen. Unfortunately, the step-ladder they first gave me was too short, so they had to bring out the 30-foot ladder so I had enough clearance to dangle properly. You just have to make sure you don't dangle your danglers too low, otherwise the high school kids want to do a vert test on your danglers. That's why my danglers always wind up crooked and dangling slightly to the left.
My grandfather taught me years ago that a large pipe wrench will open a locked door knob, too. You'll have to replace the knob, but if you're locked out in an emergency, the wrench will do it! I doubted it when he told me, but I've used the trick multiple times in my life. Thanks Grandpa!

There are some really great April Fools Days videos out there, if you're subbed to the right channels. Take a look at Fascinating Horror for some others, in his own genre...
We brits have been giggling over this particular brand name for decades. At the risk of being serious, with my vintage tool collecting hat on, I can tell you that in old (1920-1950) UK tool catalogues, which often listed 4-8 brands of spanners, King Dick were always the most expensive. Always been top quality tools.
Yeah, I was looking at his King Dick and it does look like quite a fine tool. (Seriously, that wrench has the look of a device where reliability and durability were considered far more important than cost. It is obvious just by looking that it is a very nice piece of equipment.... god dammit, equipment's an innuendo too!)
On a serious note, it really puts into light why pick resistance isn't everything. You can be ultra super pick resistant lock, and it's pointless if it fails against the pipe-wrench or brick-through-the-window attacks.
Everyone thinks lock picking is his passion, but LPL's true talent is that he can get through these videos without cracking up. Edit: RIP Mrs. LPL's Beaver
My 22 year old step daughter came home from work as the video started. She went to her room to change, and 2 minutes later, I get a text from her mom. "Wtf are you watching in the living room." I had to boot up TH-cam on my phone, go to my history, and share the link to prove I was watching a video about wrenches.
This reminds of a saying we have in England comparing men and women. A key that opens any lock is a master key, a lock that can be opened with any key is a bad lock.
For the montage I think he should have put the music from the start of Dr. Strangelove... were the Fuel tube is being inserted into the receiver hole of the other plane.
A lot of people are probably assuming you were left unsupervised in the hardware section, but I like to think that you were accompanied by at least 3 experts in King Dick selection.
I started watching this channel as research for a bike lock. Nowadays, I don't use a lock as I keep my bike in my office. But I come back to this channel for the entertainment and, more importantly, for this yearly video.
Seeing this video makes me think that maybe a good solution for locking something like a storage unit, is to get a bunch of cheap large locks, padlock the lock when you leave and fill with superglue, whenever you go back and need to get in just whip out the King Dick and watch the resistance just melt away. Then add in another from your pile of cheap massive locks when you leave.
Decades of materials science, advanced physics, optics, electrical engineering, software design, large systems implementation to deliver this video achievement. And all of those engineers and scientists would agree that it was time and effort well spent. Kudos.
I'm really amazed that there are so many wrench brands that fit into this "theme" and that he had them. I can imagine theshopping "hunt" to find them all. Well written dnaration and very well delivered.
7 wonderful years of beautiful tradition. Thank you sir for this masterpiece. May your videos spread joy to the people and their tools for generations to come
the fact that you manage to get through these without absolutely fucking losing it, just demonstrates you are the hero we need, but not the one we deserve.
A moment please to truly appreciate the British workmanship that still goes into the manufacture of King Dick products. I used to go past the factory in Birmingham quite often.
I used to have a King Dick adjustable spanner similar to the 4 inch shown in the video. Mine was a bit bigger, but the same style. Setting the opening was just lovely, almost micrometer like precision, without the slack found in most adjustable wrenches here in N. America. I have often regretted that it somehow got missed when I packed up my tools to bring with me when I emigrated to Canada many years ago.
Jesus, the double entendres and euphemisms is simply off the charts. It’s like something out of The Naked Gun or Austin Powers. Lock Picking Lawyer’s delivery is simply brilliant! If this video doesn’t reach at least two million views within a week at the very least then something is seriously wrong with society!
The lock picking lawyers April 1st videos are the best. I was completely taken by his opening of the back door for his ex-girlfriend a few years back. Very funny stuff!
The amount of contemplation and preparation that went into so much juvenile humor is....commendable. I salute you, sir! Watch where you're swing that thing, though. A tool that big can get you into trouble pretty quickly.
Any kind of bar you can stick in the latch and twist will do pretty much the same thing. A strong screwdriver, a small crowbar, small section of rebar…. Etc etc.
You'll find that the curvature of the Johnson model is actually a distinct advantage in some situations where you're working in similarly curved environments!
@@moodlethenoodle I don't know, but I do know that for the 1/3 women with a backwards facing uterus (like me) regular positions and straight penises aren't as successful for reproduction - they don't reach deep enough because of the angle. Hence the potential advantages of curved johnsons. That said, each of us is different, so it's impossible to search for a perfect match that is also a good person 😅

I'm impressed the master branded thing on the wall all the locks sheered on held up through all that, probably the most effective thing masterlock has ever made
I will say that i thought the tongue in cheek word play was really creative. And, along the visuals, was very entertaining. All in all a great sense of humor and was laughing from the cheesy lines. But, you had a good delivery that kept me watching to the end. That was a really funny gimmick that was really cool. Thank you for the laughs.
This is my favorite form of innuendo humor: It's inappropriate if you only think of the euphemisms and their "common" meaning, but taking them literal makes it completely innocent and normal. I've been given citations on web forums for having a sense of humor like this.
I made a good reply, but youtube didn't like me mentioning slipping into the wrong section by mistake nor the excessive double entendres that followed. Oh well cheers
i’ve seen one of the april fool videos when I was a bit younger, so I didn’t understand any of the jokes, but the videos were still fine to watch because I’d just enjoy it with the normal meaning.
We call pipewrenches “Murderers” because well, they murder whatever gets into their jaws, which makes them perfect for rounding off bolt heads or removing thread from a pipe end. The diminuitive version as provided by Tony, would be a “Baby Murderer”. This is an extremely effective tool, so it rarely needs to get deployed, mostly to tighten up an insertion box that may be leaking due to seasonal temperature changes, and with judicious timing prevents multiplication of the subject without having to use any additional protection while working the box. If through some oversight you accidentally apply the tool at the wrong time and cause multiplication inside the box, you have the additional option to apply the back end of the tool to the resulting noisy obstruction once it emerges. So it is a fitting moniker.

Until he said seamen, I thought the gag was going to be "I was a little disappointed to find a few sailors had gotten in there before I had."
Me too lol :D
I don’t care about April’s Fools anymore, but LPL’s videos are something that I wait for each year.
your life is tragic
@@yessanknow302 omg how do you know me?
Lol the back door video was hilarious.
And his vday ones are great too
i wish you luck on coming up with ideas. every year, peoples expectations grow
Everyone thinks lock picking is his passion, but LPL's true talent is that he can get through these videos without cracking up.
Edit: RIP Mrs. LPL's Beaver
he smashed that beaver real good!
There are replacement procedures for that kind of damage. But it is safe to say Ms. LPL's beaver is out of commission for a while.
i bet there were several takes
"Huh. I don't think this seaman's mine." Bruh really burned himself for the joke. Respect.
He may have found someone else's seaman in his wife's beaver? Yea, that's not good.
Every other April, he is talking about his girlfriend. The man cannot have peace.
@@TheOJDrinker maybe that's just how they roll
Maybe the foreign seaman got their via his friends 4 incher.
My 22 year old step daughter came home from work as the video started. She went to her room to change, and 2 minutes later, I get a text from her mom. "Wtf are you watching in the living room."
I had to boot up TH-cam on my phone, go to my history, and share the link to prove I was watching a video about wrenches.
Cool
Sounds hot. Do you two ever make love?
🤨
Wenches , Damn you autocorrect.
🥵
This reminds of a saying we have in England comparing men and women. A key that opens any lock is a master key, a lock that can be opened with any key is a bad lock.
I am impressed just how quickly his KD could be used again. At my age, I can only open locks twice a day. 😂
For the montage I think he should have put the music from the start of Dr. Strangelove... were the Fuel tube is being inserted into the receiver hole of the other plane.
Me too but I don't really mind and the customer seems to appreciate the fact that it takes me half the day to produce results
Someone nominate LPL for a goddamn oscar for delivering this entire video without a single hitch in his voice.
He has perfect deadpan delivery.
@@ferretyluv he is (was) a lawyer after-all
He's a die hard perv ;)
But we have no idea how many takes it took to get it done without laughing! 😅
A lot of people are probably assuming you were left unsupervised in the hardware section, but I like to think that you were accompanied by at least 3 experts in King Dick selection.
Or at least one 5 year old
I like this comment. At the time of reading it, it has 69 likes. I can't bring myself to make it 70 in respect to the video 👍
Was that in the Adult section of the store? 🤷♂
That intro was a masterpiece😂
The fact that he did this without breaking character or anything... Kudos man... holy heck.
I’m sure he did, it’s called editing
I started watching this channel as research for a bike lock. Nowadays, I don't use a lock as I keep my bike in my office. But I come back to this channel for the entertainment and, more importantly, for this yearly video.
"Seamen inside" ... that's where i lost it completely!!! =)
Thanks LPL! Happy April 1st everyone!
Kudos.

I imagine Knuth snickering at this
I'm really amazed that there are so many wrench brands that fit into this "theme" and that he had them. I can imagine theshopping "hunt" to find them all. Well written dnaration and very well delivered.
7 wonderful years of beautiful tradition. Thank you sir for this masterpiece.
May your videos spread joy to the people and their tools for generations to come
The smirk did not leave my face the entire video. Big ups, man, love your work!
After a brief refractory period, I will slam that Beaver one more time to show that it wasn't a fluke.
That was the only iconic line he really missed. Good catch.
Honestly after wrecking his wife's Beaver with his 36 inch tool, it was pretty much fully destroyed already.
the fact that you manage to get through these without absolutely fucking losing it, just demonstrates you are the hero we need, but not the one we deserve.
Oh I thought they were made at the BBC studios.
Sea men was just the nastiest joke of them all this video, amazing comedy
Closed captions gave up when he started talking about his wife's beaver 😂😂😂
LOL. Yes, they did! Thanks for pointing it out!
What a legend, dude can make CC reconsider its career path.
This was a solid entry but I think I still like the one where he’s being asked to get into his ex’s back door
😙🤌
There are 5 more of previous years.
Go wild.
@@TheMulToyVerse check. The one with his Exes' backdoor was pure gold
It'll get five million views today 😂
LPL as a sight-gag in the background of a Leslie Nielsen scene would be in both their best traditions. Sadly, it won't ever happen. RIP LWN.
LPL's April fools videos are the absolute best you can find! Thanks for showing us your KingDick.
Wonderfully executed. So much better than my Dad’s birds and bees talk.😂😅

Innuendo aside is this actually the evolutionary reason for the bend?
@@moodlethenoodleafaik no, it just happens to be like that sometimes and isn't usually enough of a problem to be selected against
@@moodlethenoodle I don't know, but I do know that for the 1/3 women with a backwards facing uterus (like me) regular positions and straight penises aren't as successful for reproduction - they don't reach deep enough because of the angle. Hence the potential advantages of curved johnsons. That said, each of us is different, so it's impossible to search for a perfect match that is also a good person 😅
I am in tears... 😂😂😂
I really hope, that Mrs. LPLs beaver was not completely destroyed and can still be played 😮
Well as you can see he absolutely destroyed her Beaver with his massive tool, she won't be able to use it for weeks
@@ShawnValseanit’s fine though. It will still allow all the seamen to exit as needed.
Didn't last very long, only 3 hits and then everything spilled out.
LPL is a legend! The humor and creativity of those videos are off the charts.
9 months later, youtube finally suggested me this video :)
Genuinely impressed by the innuendo density. And the brand-names. Clearly, eBay was scoured far and wide for suggestively named tools!
Go back to every April 1st video. This was actually light on the innuendo and heavy on name gags.
I mean... These are all popular and well-established tool brands. Idk why, but there's a lot of tool brands that sound dirty.
... and by the fact how he can be quite lewd and funny without using a single profane word
@@sparksmcgee6641 The single best is still the Backdoor one. Most impressive fact in that one is also him managing to not show his fave a single time in any of the reflective surfaces around.

Definitely my favorite line this year.
Never change LPL, never change.
Your channel is the first one I visit on April 1st and I have never been disappointed.
It's my first time, but most definitely not the last.
Love your channel and the use of double entendres makes it all the better!
I posted earlier that everyone thinks they have a good joke for April Fools, but few actually do. LPL manages to not only nail the joke every year, but it's always better that the prior year.
I mean, he certainly nailed that beaver.
I believe you mean, smashed, it hard.
I think he has this gig locked up.
April fools LPL special? Finally!
Finally? Comes every year without fail
@@IDontModWTFz remember when he showed us his Tiny Coq?

You must be new here, lol. He does these annually.
I love this annual tradition SO much that it's an exclusive scheduled event on my Google Calendar with perpetuity. I was unexpectedly overjoyed when I got the "April 1 LPL YT channel" alert yesterday. Thanks for this and your other superlative content!
The KING !!!!
[and now I slap my arms against the side of my torso in rhythmic fashion]
Then once again is yell…..”The KING!!”
…and go back to the slapping noise.
I (!) can not be stopped!
This is the only video on April 1st i look forward to every year. Every other channel and website thinks they're being slick with some crappy april fools video, but this series has never not made me laugh. Sincere advice, engineering explanations, and tutorials with almost zero humor 364 days out of the year. But then, gold.
Just remember, if your King Dick hasn't seen some use in a while, it's recommended to oil it up and polish it. Just be sure to have some tissues nearby to keep things clean.
And if it's rusty, can always use some lubrication.
Don't be afraid of the wet hose shop vac to really pick up all the loose oil.
Now I have to call all the stores and see if they carry King Dick tools!
Wow, I bet the Beaver didn't expect that kind of pounding! Some real bangers in this video for sure!
How am I just seeing this!! I had no idea when it came out so I’m watching this all serious and this totally caught me off guard!! I was cracking up!!! This was great!!! Well done!!..😂
Your April first posts are magnificent!
Your skillfully worded humor is a testament to your profession and the ability to penetrate the coming obstacles gives your avocation credibility.
You make April 1st worth the wait. I tip my hat to your deadpan delivery of loads of double entendres.
Deaf people: woah, that's a powerful wrench!

I love how the product name is stamped onto the wrench in three places and it's a different logo each time
This is the finest collection of innuendo ever produced by humans! Bravo Mr. LockPickingLawyer!
Well... There are some episodes of the British panel show "Qi" that is in the competition. 😊
You really don't want a 36" tool innuendo
This video was exactly what I needed to find today.
LockPickingLawyer, you have done it again. Thanks!
One of the best channels on TH-cam.
Cartoon innuendos
I enjoyed how you explained the joke
That’s a great username you got btw, not even religious and I’d want to use it
"hm, I don't think this seaman's mine." HOW DOES HE NOT BURST OUT LAUGHING
When even having a 36 inch tool doesn't help

"Tony's wang"
I anxiously await LPLs yearly April 1st video.
It never disappoints.
Especially since he showed how he wrecked Mrs. LPLs beaver so effectively.
**ANNIHILATION**
