My personal favorites at the moment are '23' and 'Amour'.
'23' for Pau's vocals and 'Amour' for the harmonies. Also, if you think this is beautifully simple, you would love 'Amour'. It sounds like they aren't doing much at all, but in reality they are doing so many little things.
Live performance is The Warning's superpower! They do awesome music videos, but they really are one of the rare bands that sound even better live! Anything from the Teatro Metropolitan concerts is a great representation of how good they are. You probably already know some of their history.
I'm 58 and this is the first band in decades that I'm truly excited about. Their popularity is increasing dramatically, they're headlining in Europe early next year and hopefully they'll gain more fans in the states.
Thanks for the reaction. These live sessions were great to pour over when they were first released a year ago. Today we fans are looking to the Teatro Metropolitan Mexico City live performances that are were so well audio recorded and video shot professionally. Any song from that show are well worth watching. I believe there were 22 songs performed at that show last August and was a bench mark for quality and to top it off, the ladies killed it and the audience appreciated every second.
I believe that Teatro video is the best live video since Iron Maiden - Live After Death.

I agree with you. In general, The Warning's music is very well-made music without being very complicated (an opinion as a fan of progressive rock), although the songs usually contain good details of musicianship.
What they far surpass much more well-known and prestigious bands is in the management of their voices (that they are all good singers is a superpower) and in that the Villarreal sisters know how to make attractive songs with good, usually non-trivial lyrics. Another equally important point is their great ability to perform on stage in a professional and very attractive way as musicians without sexualizing their image as is so common today.
Because of the above, I am a fan and VIP patreon of the band (in addition to being my compatriots).
In my opinion, their best live performances to date (professionally recorded, that is) are: 1) Evolve at the VMAs, 2) the whole Teatro Metropolitan CDMX show they posted on The Warning's official TH-cam channel - my particular favorites from that show have to be Disciple, Enter Sandman (they fully reimagined the song and made it their own), When I'm Alone (great showcase of Dany's vocals), 23 (great showcase of Pau's vocals while drumming), Martirio (great sounding song and sung in their native language of Spanish), and 3) Dull Knives and the acoustic version of Sinister Smiles from their "The Warning Cave" home studio.
Oh ya.. and their 2017 TEDX talk... that should actually be in the 3 spot and then The Cave in the 4 spot... Also UGH is really good at Teatro as well... Basically it's all good stuff haha.
To date, and in my opinion (worth f-all), Disciple at Teatro is their premier live performance. However, I expect once some post-production of their recent concert with the string quartets, may take this all to another level - all we’ve seen so far are fan cams……
@@northof4912 Ya I really hope the Pepsi center show got the pro shot treatment like the Teatro 2022 show did. It's a shame Pau wasn't feeling great, but even with that, Black Holes and Breathe were special performances, and then the cool quartet transition into Enter Sandman was really well executed.

I grew up in the era of Symphony Orchestra recordings of Procul Harem (Whiter Shade of Pale) and Moody Blues, Days of Future Past. Some of the best music ever recorded!
@@northof4912 Nice, ya I'm mostly a more modern metalhead, but one of the rock bands I've been a fan of for several years is Skillet. When they were at their biggest popularity, they hired a full-time violinist to tour with them so they didn't have to just track in all the orchestral elements, so this is probably the first time I've seen live violin paired with rock since then.
In fact, if Skillet happened to tour with The Warning, I think that'd be fitting and also they probably could split the cost of bringing at least a violinist with them to play along with certain tracks. It'd also be special to have Jen Ledger and Pau performing in the same show - best singing female drummers I've ever known about.

Rock is meant to be experienced LIVE in concert. I have seen The Warning live 4 times and can't wait for my next concert. Their August 29, 2022 concert at Teatro Metropolitan is EPIC. Please join so many other reactors who have reviewed the entire concert.

The official music video of this song was the first I heard of them.. about 18 months ago on Julia Nilon's channel. I found 'Evolve' after that, and I was surely hooked.
The love what they do, and they're darn good at it. It's simple, but they know what sounds good. I hope to catch 'em live, someday. ... Just so you know, that blur on your right is Dani, center is Pau, and the one on your left is Ale. 😂

If the suggestions you were getting were recent, about doing something live, I would think they would have been asking for something done from their live concert: Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX in Aug. 2022. They truly come alive in front of a crowd!!!😊⚡️
I've seen TW 5 times in the last 18 months and I can say that they're the best live band I've ever experienced. I don't remember the song you reacted to first but I would suggest Disciple live from the Teatro Metropolitan show. As good as this is, it doesn't convey the energy they put out when performing in front of an audience. Look forward to your next one and welcome to the US.

Like Nightwish (my 2nd favorite band) The Warning is best when playing live. The ‘22 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX show is a great show to watch.

Hey Chase, glad to see you coming back to my favorite band. If you do future reactions, I strongly recommend to react to their performance of Evolve at the VMAs, as I would be really curious to hear what you think of all the aspects of performing live and after that any of their performances from their show at Teatro Metropolitan, as to me this is one of the best live shows I have seen in decades.
Would also be very curious to see what you would think of the studio recording of their song Revenant, as to me it is one of best example of using layering, dynamics, tones, etc. to create a great studio recording.
I totally agree with the Evolve recommendation. That's a whole different level of live performance compared to this live studio session. I enjoy the studio stuff, but these ladies really shine in front of an audience. I feel lucky to have seen them twice.
Cool reaction and analysis! Interesting, when you first started up this video, I immediately noted a slightly different tonal balance than I expected. I paused your video, listened to the original, and the guitar definitely seems more prominent in the original mix. Do you have some EQ going on? That said, feeling a need for more guitar might be a pretty common reaction by folks used to hearing two or even three guitars balancing out the bass and the 95% of rock drummers who are less energetic than Pau! The Warning are diversely talented, so it's always hard to recommend what someone should listen to next, but I'd go with a live performance of Evolve. Both the VMA performance this year and the Teatro Metropólitan CDMX performance last year are excellent.

@@ChaseCarneson When I saw your topic I thought you would compare the studio version ( MV ) with the live session. Since I prefer the live session I'm glad it was your choice. I'd have to say the difference is a lot bigger between the MV for *More* that you already saw compared to their live version recorded at the MTV VMAs.
The live version is really good compared to the MV with stupid video effects, crocks, and weird colors. The live version has straight in-your-face rock with attitude.
Like everyone says, anything recorded at the Metropolitan Theatre in Mexico City is the bomb. Since you are into guitar parts an excellent start would be the opener for that gig. The song is named *Z,* the name of the sisters' generation.

The The Warning are a great three piece rock band who I can see playing at large venues and festivals. I hope to be ale to catch one of their sets at a later date.

I thought this session was the best, when it was published. Then the 2022 CDMX concert happened... wow... that has set the bar way higher. But experiencing them live earlier this year, even in a 25 minute support capacity, they blew my face of. Couldn't stop smiling! Tickets for their EU tour are waiting patiently... 🤘
If possible, I will have to see them live in Mexico, once. They do something magical on their home turf.
As others have said, their live performance videos from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX and the MTV VMAs are the next best thing to seeing them live. Excellent audio mix from both venues. Suggest Disciple and Evolve next. 👍😎
Glad to see you're back with the Warning. I think this version still sounds a little muted because of the sound proofing and the studio environment. As others have said, the live performances from Teatro are pretty spectacular. The sound is also mixed really well and I think you'll like the wall of sound that they manage to create in live performances.
As for other items to check, you could check out the two performances that they did at the VMAs this year; More and Evolve. I've seen a lot of reactions and it seems TWA look at these performances as the definitive versions of the two songs so far. I'm not a big fan of the studio version of More but they turn up the rock on it at the VMAs and certainly improves it in my opinion.

Thanks for the reaction! I'm with you on the guitar mix in this particular session. You'll probably see a lot of suggestions, including this one, to watch the lives from Teatro Metropolitan. Some recommendations from me would be Disciple, Animosity, and Dust to Dust. They also played "Evolve" at the 2023 VMAs, and it is my favorite performance of that song.
The Warning shines live, for sure! Seen them three times and have been blown away, every time! Welcome to the USA! Hope you got to see Band-Maid's Yokohama Arena performance from a week or so ago! For The Warning, "Kool-aid Kids" would be a great next stop, imho!

Most bands strive to achieve studio quality for their live performance.
The Warning strive to get their live sound on their studio recordings.
They have been referred to as a “studio quality” live band.
TW’s 3rd album Error was produced by David Bendeth as I’m sure you’re aware and TW have been using his click track live ever since.
This has enabled TW to become even tighter timing wise as a band to the point where I’m confident that you could overlay the audio for Choke, as an example, from their Teatro Metropolitan show over their OMV for Choke and it’s likely to fit almost perfectly except for the part that Ale sings live that Dany sings on the studio version.
TW’s OMV for the song Money was originally recorded when they opened for the FF’s in Mexico. It was supposed to be pro shot audio and video but the audio wasn’t recorded correctly.
They ended up using the studio audio over the live video and by all accounts it was a nearly seamless overlay with only a couple of small tweaks.
I can tell you from personal experience that the guitar sound for Choke live is just nasty.
This is truly a band that needs to be experienced live before any valid judgement can be made concerning the quality of said live shows because videos do not do them justice.
For now, anything from the Teatro Metropolitan show from August 29th, 2022 is the go to for live reactions with the exception of More and Evolve from the 2023 VMA’s.
They will likely have a new gold standard out when the last 3 high production shows from their Mexican tours finishes being edited and is released in 2024 sometime hopefully.
Animosity, Disciple, 23, Dust to Dust, the re-imagined Enter Sandman from Blacklist and Queen of the Murder Scene are all good next step reactions.

They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience on their path in addition to their great preparation since they were children.
Their attitude, discipline and will to achieve their goals are leading them to great, well-deserved achievements.
They are still on the road to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think it will be inevitable.
Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.”
I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
And not only in the technical aspect, but we have also already proven that they have an exquisite taste for good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and fraternal team totally committed to their project…
And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented girls who make good songs…
No, it's about music, really art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity.
Each of these amazing rock masterpieces must be appreciated in all its dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
They are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
As long as all this continues to flow with this equation they will soon reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time.

The thing I find most odd is just how well they all sing and play. Pau is really held back vocally by the drums, like it is hard to breathe right, while drumming, and her voice is great as is while drumming...but often in concerts she'll give up the drums to sing, or if you can hear a song like Breathe, or her version of Creep, both she plays piano while singing. It's one of the most epic singing I have heard.
It amazes me that all 3 of these are sisters with so much talent that they never really over shadow each other. And since they are all so great vocally, they really harmonize well together, and they are still really young I think they range from like 17-22
Love that you're doing more Warning, as everyone I highly suggest the Teatro Metropolitan Show, especially the songs "Queen of the Murder Scene" and "Disciple", both incredible performances.
On another note, I would really enjoy to see you react to "The Great Tribulation" by Epica because I am so so certain that you would love that song, it's an absolute masterpiece

I don't know The Warning all that well, (only listened to a handful of songs), but they sure sound like a solid band. Bit of a 90's vibe going on there, which is a good thing in my book ! Groovy stuff. Also, just a three (wo)men band nowadays, that takes some serious cojones. Definitely going to take a deeper dive into their works and antics starting with this Theatro thing that a lot of people have recommended.
Also, here's a bit of speculation from my part. Band-Maid just had their 10th anniversary concert in the Yokohama Arena last weekend and at the end of it, they announced collabs with other international artists in 2024. Now, given the fact that these two bands know each other quite well and have a mutual and fond appreciation for one another, methinks something might potentially be in the works here. Could just be a tour, but for all we know, it may just as well be new collab songs. How 'bout them apples? Hmmmm ....

I think it's obvious where to start from the comments already in here. An entire concert from August 2022 at "Teatro Metropolitan CDMX(Mexico City) that was professionally recorded both video and audio. You'll get the gamut of their abilities live. Hard rock, soft rock, ballad, acoustic and their cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman". If you like "dirty" guitar then their best was JUST released 04/2024. AUTOMATIC SUN is a studio version audio with a live performance video. The Warning consists of three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. English is their second language. They started playing music VERY young. Their father posted some of their music on TH-cam and a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral in 2014. Metallica noticed their cover and asked them to do a "cover" of one of their songs for the "Black Album (Remastered Deluxe Box Set). The Warning decided to do "Enter Sandman" and is featured #1 among numerous other bands that did covers. That was the beginning of "The Warning". You can see videos of their younger years on their channel. TWA

Thanks for returning to The Warning! I saw them in August and the crowd was singing along with every word of this song. I wouldn’t put it in my top ten songs from these sisters, but it’s still a good song that’s enjoyable live. My only issue with this particular performance is that bass guitarist Ale’s mic can sound a bit buzzy in some songs, this one to a lesser extent, “Evolve” to a greater extent. As others have said, they released a great concert on TH-cam song by song before releasing the full show. That show has no bad songs, no bad performances, and is The Warning at the height of their considerable powers. Moreover, they played “More” and “Evolve” at the most recent MTV Video Music Awards and were fantastic there as well.
If you want a specific recommendation, I would say either “Disciple” or “Animosity” from the 2022 show in Mexico would be where to go next.

They are a straight-up rock band, and in my view the best rock power trio since Cream. Young, and just getting started, so the catalogue isn't big yet, but it will be. They are here to stay. BTW they are working on a collab with Band-Maid.

They are better live so anything from the teatro metropolitan show or the mtv mva performances is best. By the way, they are not "natives" as in american, they are from mexico. Along with band maid, my favorite rockers today. Been around since rock began and glad im still here to enjoy the ladies.

Chase, if you could react to The Warnings performance of Survive when they did a TedX talk in 2016 i think youd love that. With all respect to the ladies were still kids at that time and its a powerful live performance.

I'd say head straight to the top - Evolve at the MTV VMAs; then Dust to Dust at Teatro Metropolitan; and Dull Knives from The Warning Cave for the (de)Tour. Be aware: you probably won't be able to stop looking up their music after this....

I think you're on the right track, first an MV, then the studio live, next step the real concert live, where this band absolutely shines. You should do some real live shows. They have multiple with very good sound quality. Early stuff from the Lunario CDMX show and recent stuff from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX are good places to start. All their songs are great so you can't really go wrong 😁👍

Great reaction with nice analysis. Agreed with your comment about the guitar being a bit low in the mix. This live studio version was an odd sound mix. I was just watching Kool Aid Kids from their gold standard Teatro Metropolitan August 2022 concert, and the guitar was just a wall of sound! 🔥 The song starts with bass and drums, and then you hear this massive feedback and guitar noise from Dany just rotating the volume knob on the guitar. When she strikes the first chord, the guitar sound is overpowering and hits like a brick! 🤘 The dynamics between no guitar and that first chord is a beautiful wall of PRS tone that hits hard.
You need to get into the Teatro Metropólitan show. It's great. Start with the show openers, "Z", and then just work through the songs in order. It's amazing.

Feel free and go for any song from the August 2022 Teatro Metropolitan show. Enter Sandman perhaps. You may have heard about that song, it used to be from that band called Metallica. Well, it used to be until The Warning stole it from them and made it theirs. Or maybe Evolve for something much less simple. Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice liked that one.

You’ve not even come close to their best performances. Their older stuff is just amazing for its raw quality. If you are looking for live - their entire Teatro Metropolitan from just over a year ago. Their new level. But I suspect soon to be one upped by a recent concert where they brought in string quartets and just achieved a new level, way beyond their age! Warning - rabbit hole potential…..

Welcome to the USA 🇺🇸 the Warning has been great right from the start even though they are best live, their videos are awesome as well. Check out escape the mind when they played at their school. 21st century blood the video. Go through their concept record Queen of the Murder scene. And visit them tedx talk all three songs from 2017 also their latest album error. They don't write any bad songs. Next year may bring forth another awesome album. Rock on Chase.
