    Great analysis. One thing that blows me away about Dany and her guitar set up is that she has to be so DEAD ON in everything because it's so present in the mix. One mistake, whether crunchy effected or clean, and it's gonna be VERY easy to notice. So, she's singing lead, got her pedal board, and she's performing...but makes it look so EASY! That only comes from LOVING what she does. They all do which is what makes it such a joy to behold.

    Awesome reaction- totally agree. That no stress thing - they’ve learned to perform over the top but inside their zone, love it. And Ale’s vocal moment - check out the bass riff she pulls off right as she finishes singing. Reaches down, adjusts her sound, then lays into it

    Their lack of visible stress on stage is a blend of professionalism and just lots of practice. They are machines who could probably do these songs in their sleep, not that anyone would want them to. 🤩

      Their muscle memory is astounding. You're so right. That only comes from practice, practice, practice...and performing. Yet every performance you see them having a blast and the better the level of feedback from the audience the better they perform. It's amazing;.

    The Villarreal sisters have redefined the structure of a rock song by keeping it simple and short. In the 60s, 70s, 80s a rock song used to be identified with the quality of guitar solo and at times by its length.
    But The Warning have shown us that we can equally enjoy rock in its simplicity, brevity.
    "Less is more" is their mantra.
    And we love it.

      @@abugewww8013 Yes. Love that. We have had some glimpses in her early years. But now I think she composes a song keeping in mind her energy levels throughout an hour long concert. Her drumming already has become very economical compared to how she used to beat those drums in a visually sensational style with arms flailing.

    So Dany has a programmable pedal board that produces multiple signals each in different octaves and effects. If she adds millisecond delays to the signals, she simulates multiple guitars, otherwise it helps create the wall of sound by enhancing the main signal.

    Beyond the musicality emitted by the masterfully executed instruments and the stupendous voices, each day more mature and better...
    And the paraphernalia of the show, which achieves its goal...
    It's inescapable that this moves you from the depths of your emotions when you observe what the girls are doing in their performance…
    It's more than a pleasure to see how Pau really enjoys what seems to be a game that amuses her so much that she gives herself up, contributing all her emotions and, at the same time, allows herself to be the receptacle of everything that can transmit to her what's happening around her, transforming everything into a virtuous circle of unsurpassed quality.
    Well, surely only surmountable by themselves.
    And they have so much mastered what they are doing that they only have to give themselves completely, passionately (as Latinos know it), to what they like to do best and most, in a way in which they have fun and fully enjoy it.
    For this and many more things TW will conquer the world of rock!
    INEVITABLE.
    Cheers

    They can definitely project how comfortable they are and yet remain focused and serious about what they do. You can really see how at ease they are whenever they make a mistake. For instance, Dany has forgotten lyrics and Pau jumps in and Dany just laughs at herself and picks it back up. Ale once dislodged her bass cable and so she just began leading the audience in clapping. Ale also recently fell but kept on playing while she was sitting on the floor trying to get up. You can be serious and not take yourself so serious.

    Someone said in another video that Dany was a mediocre guitar player. Yes, every now and then there's an off note in some songs during their live performances - who cares! A lot of top artists will do the same. What she does, rhythm, lead (switching from one to the other - Dany refers to it as "Lythm"), her control over the pedalboard and top of that singing and interacting with the audience. She is no slouch in my mind and she gets better and better. Ale's great bass lines and Pau's energetic drums, the harmonies - man! There is no weak link in The Warning. Thanks for the reaction, always looking forward to more.

      I’ll go to a pop show if I want it to be perfect 😂😂 mediocre in the eyes of who? Because I like to think I’m a decent guitar player, yet I can’t seem to get it RIGHT playing along with The Warnings music - tone aside because I love my tone, there’s a magic that extends paper and theory.
      I’m my correct opinion, of course. 😂

      @funkster007 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Well stated!
      There's probably quite a few out there that will be critical of Dany's "technical skill" on guitar. Perhaps both of her sisters may even be on a higher level than her with their own instruments. But it doesn't really matter. What she does with the guitar is more than enough to get the job done song-wise. Not to mention her strong point is her stellar vocals anyway, and she's one hell of a front lady and performer to boot.
      Plenty of girls out there who can shred. How many can write/co-write their own songs and sell out a venue?

    • @elgonwilliams7624
      @elgonwilliams7624 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      They could use auto tune and other digital enhancements to make it sound just like the crap every pop star out there does, but that ain't rock'n'roll. I challenge anyone who says such a thing about Dany's skill level to go back and listen to The Beatles or The Roilling Stones live performances from the 60s. They were out of sync with one another at times, out of tune, played bum notes, blew their harmonies. Yes, they didn't do it often, but they still mess up here and there along the way. It's human. And that is what's missing in today's popular music, the human element. It may as well be AI generated because it's damned close to be that already.

      What made me understand just how good Dany, and Pau for that matter, are.....was other musicians, like Lzzy Hale who sing and play guitar at the same time as well, say about what they are doing live on stage:
      Lzzy plays the same thing she is singing.
      Dany isn't always playing what she's singing.
      As a person who can't walk and chew gum at the same time, it makes total sense. 🧐

    Hey, My friend! It's so cool you picked up on how comfortable they are. That is what I noticed right away the first time I saw them live. They are so well rehearsed that they can play these songs in their sleep. So, when they are on stage it is effortless for them to friggin' KILL it! Live, they are playing to the audience, and so comfortable that when any of them make a rare mistake, they make a quick face to the audience, like "Oops, haha", and their sisters will give them a look, like "haha, you messed up". They are so much fun live, especially in a small venue, that everyone feels like part of the show and it's a big party instead of a concert!

    I agree that the performance/body language is nice and relaxed, but I do kind of hear some vocal strain from Dany in this song in particular. Those high notes are pretty high up there for belting, and it's not that she's really missing on pitch, but it's the tone that sounds to me like it's swapping to a yell instead of a belt (it sounds to me like it's near the edge of her range) - also, during quite a few of their shows this last year, it seemed to me that her voice got tired after they performed this song (she'd have some accuracy problems for a song or two after), so at least to my amateur analysis, it seemed to me like some strain/pushing was going on (the quaver in her voice at 9:30 when she sings 'me' is kind of what I'm talking about how you can hear some vocal fatigue). As long as she's not hurting her voice, it's no big deal, but when they get on the consistent touring schedules, I can imagine that gets pretty tiring on the chords. If it wasn't their biggest radio hit, they could skip it for some shows to give her a break, but it seems like that song's locked into the setlist until they get bigger hits.

    • @ClavisRa
      @ClavisRa ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That high note at the end of "drown" is one of the hardest belts you'll ever see in a song, for multiple reasons: first, coming at the end of a sustained climb with a lot of articulation via breath control, and second, keeping the full belt from low to high with same tonality and not doing any switch in their voice mix like 99% of singers would do. I've seen a few singers react to that song and I don't think any of them have really taken a moment to fully contemplate what is happening vocally there (and why you never hear singers do this).

    • @IAMTHEJUGGERNATE
      @IAMTHEJUGGERNATE ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ClavisRa I don't really know enough about the specifics of the technique to comment on the difficulty vs other big notes in rock/metal songs, but it's definitely a tough song to sing. I like the sound of a lot of their other songs better, but the studio version of this one is definitely the 'show off how skilled the singer is' track when people are first being introduced to their music.
