Two of the best vocalists ever! Bill Medley (deep voice) Bobby Hatfield (Tenor)!! 40 years ago they were in concert and Bill Medley walked into the crowd and sang to me and gave me a kiss while singing!! I'll always love the Righteous Brothers! They were not blood relatives! But "Righteous" brothers!!

Yes these guys had a lot of great songs. You've done 3 so far. Would also suggest their covers of "Little Latin Lupe Lu", "Just Once In My Life", "Ebb Tide", "The White Cliffs Of Dover", "Rock & Roll Heaven". Bill Medley had a big hit in1987 with his duet with Jennifer Warnes, "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life", which appeared on the soundtrack for the movie "Dirty Dancing".

This song was going through my head every time I woke up last night...which was quite a few times. Bill, on the opening kills me..."Girl, I can't let you do this..." and then when Bobby's silk voice comes in solo...it's just too much. And the climax when Bill goes into his pleading crescendo, "If you go it will kill me..." Umm...umm...umm.

I was there the night they got together, a small nightclub in Santa Ana, Ca., called the Brown Derby. My friend knew a guy, Bobby Hatfield, from school. Bobby was going to do a guest gig with Bill Medley’s band around midnight. Bobby was doing a solo when Bill joined in and showed his musical genius, turned into a long great back and forth with beautiful unrehearsed harmony. Crowd was mixed ethnics and the big word at the time was “Righteous “. It stuck and “The Righteous Brothers “ was formed. If I remember correctly it was 1961.

This was the first song my new husband (over 35 years ago) played for me by the Righteous Brothers after our honeymoon. I, like you, had never heard them before. I swore they were 4 gentlemen of color instead of two white guys from Orange County, California. They are amazing! So, you are not the only one to be surprised by their sound. If you want to continue old school, try Bobby Goldsboro "Honey", "Watching Scotty Grow", and "Little Green Apples" or "Butterfly for Bucky". He's a bit country so not sure you would be into that but you are eclectic in what you present so I though I'd suggest it!
