The greatest ever ever ever.
First time I heard them in real time! I was 10. This one was made in 1974. Sang for over a decade at that time!
Righteous Brothers....enough said. Greatest Duo EVER
Nice reaction. Shout out to the songwriter, Carol King.
This was great hearing again but there is an old black & white, girls screaming, live Shindig version that is even more kick ass. I love that these guys are being brought front and center again. They truly were the best ever.
My favourite Phil Spector recording easily both in terms of Wall of Sound and also the strength of the song itself. The vocals are absolutely astonishing, and Bill Medley is so under-appreciated when Bobby takes the plaudits. My jaw is always left hanging!
Melissa Ward here. You should listen to live version. So much better I believe. You can hear Bobby Hatfield so more clearly.
Bill's performance is truly great. A wonderful song.
Love your facials..these guys are awesome
I have seen the Righteous Brothers about 10-15 times in my short time on this earth (72 yrs) I still get emotional anytime I hear them sing
It doesn't get any better. Their music moves you. I heard this as a ten year old. It left an impression I'll always remember. Unfortunately, this and other music of the sixties was so good I really don't feel anything in todays music. This song has passion and soul and beauty. Like I said, it doesn't get any better.
They said just once in my life, was.their favorite song to perform.
WOW I just found the Righteous Bros and the Blossoms singing 'Night Time is the Right Time' - It's amazing what you can find on TH-cam if you go deep enough. I wouldn't have gone looking if it wasn't for you AB, so thank you!
Bobby had a beautiful voice he sang effortlessly. He never strained doing his hi notes. No training just born with talent.
I love this song. These guys were awesome together no matter what they sang. They nailed all the songs!!!❤❤❤
They were awesome. My favorite song 💜
I love their harmonies. Thanks for another great reaction.
Check out Bobby's amazing solo in "Ebb Tide." Man, that softness then the cressendo and his high note just gets me. Just a beautiful display of his heavenly voice.
Only the Righteous Brothers can sing THEIR songs - NO REMAKES!!!!
My favorite RB song.
Elton John and Bruno Mars did a pretty good job singing Unchained Melody at a charity show.
Look into the Righteous Brothers performing on stage with "The Blossoms".
Bobby Doing Summertime is amazing
Hey Wayne, you lucky devil I only got to see them twice. your favorite song? Mine is Soul and Inspiration. Loved your reaction to hearing them the first time AB.
This was recorded at the time their producer was trying to sow discord between them, and split them up. This song featuring Bill with Bobby only in the chorus, then doing a Bobby solo as a singles release that was a hit (Ebb Tide). They left that producer and then released what was their biggest hit at the time, Soul And Inspiration that Bill produced. For something different, look up the clip for Try to Find Another Man which they wrote together.
Love your reactions to their contrasting vocals.😁
I love this. But Spectors' "wall of sound" overpowers it in places. Especially Bobby's harmonies.
This is one of those songs where I'd love to see some great producer wrench the master tapes and clean up that background without touching the vocals. Spector's "wall of sound" was way too muddy and cluttered.
They were wonderful. So much soul.
You seem to enjoy Bobby Hatfields parts in the song. He did lots of solos you might enjoy. Like Summertime and ebb tide
Those are the parts I wait for too. Their harmonies are glorious but it's Bobby Hatfield's voice that brings the the magic for me. Bobby's live Unchained Melody on the Andy William's 1965 show is most beautiful performance I have ever seen.
Summertime is so good!! I'd love to see him react to it.
bobby hatfield my prayer I just listened to this song and it is absolutely lovely.
AB, this was their favorite song.
Bill said he thought that this was his favorite song of theirs I think this is their best song
Big fan of theirs since 64, this may be my favorite! It's similar to You lost that Loving Feeling. Bill Medley did a solo well not exactly with the Blossoms at the Playboy Club in 68
Brown Eyed Woman was incredible. Darlene Love a great singer was in the Blossoms. Worth checking out.
And if I’m not mistaken there is a young Donald Trump with a date somewhere in that video
I've been watching your Righteous Brothers reactions because you can't just watch one. But man, I gotta tell ya...you need to find their song "Ebb Tide" - it's another where Bobby Hatfield is just unleashed to do his thing with that soaring voice of his. You're gonna be peeling yourself off the wall behind you.
Bobby singing My Prayer, Somewhere, He, Crying in the chaple. . .all Bobby.
Both sing Dream on, but oddly Bobby doesn't look at the camera
It ŵas, I read, their come-back song. Bill did a really 6:56 fine job even sang with his eyes open - which was rare for him
Billie Eilish and Righteous Brothers in the same day!!! Sir, you spoil us!!!!!!! Whatever Orange Juice 🍊 you are drinking, pour another glass
Then you can tell me goodbye is one of my all time favorite songs
.written by Carol king for the Righteous Brothers. And the wall of sound by Phil Spector. Need another Bill Medley song? How about I've had the Time of My Life with Bill and Jennifer Warne. From the move Dirty Dancing.
Old Boomer here,
When I was fly,
If a fine man sang me this...
He would get Eggs Benedict for breakfast.
I love watching your reaction to the Righteous Brothers. I’d love to see your reaction to KD Land singing Hallelujah.
So now you really have to react to “I Just Wanna Make Love to You”! It’s one of my favorites by them!
i grew up on this music. have you listened to Tennessee Ernie Ford? Oh Shenandoah. took me 60 yrs to appreciate his voice. i was listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Louie Armstrong sing Summertime...first time i really heard the soul of the music.
I am familiar with Tennessee Ernie Ford, but he is a brother and he wouldn't like him.
@@timothykscarborough7047 thank you for replying.
Thanks for doing one of their lesser known songs. Can you do Bobby Hatfield's What's the Matter Baby" one of these days? :)
Thank you very much ❤ listening in Jan.11,2025!🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️
what's not to love
Hi I just saw your video on my feed and it peeked my interest. It's very nice to see someone who sees all music for being art and poetry. I would like to test you to see if you'd be unbiased to listen to a song that has great meaning for me, it was me a long long long time ago. I think as an avid lover of all thing music you'd appreciate listening to Beyond the Realms of Death by Judas Priest. It's a song that embodies what is going on in this world right now!
Bill medley baritone .Bobby Hatfield tenor
dropped in to see how you reacted to the Righteous Brothers and I would like to see your reactions to Pentatonix - Hallelujah an a cappella group
not sure if you've listened to them singing "ebb tide" but you definitely should. and just for fun, "little latin lupe lu"
These guys are great
Phil Spector is pure genius. He was able to tap into a celestial and pseudo cosmopolitan reverberation that moved people’s souls and minds, no matter what color you are. The wall of sound will never be duplicated again. Computerized music is a loser.
I agree with those who comment the music is overpowering the great vocals by Bill and Bobby.
Bill medley and Bobby hatfield.bobby gone
Bill still performs.their best song by far.
This studio version I always thought had the background over-powered. Here’s a live version, less polished but a better vocal th-cam.com/video/bRLkBZVkD8g/w-d-xo.html Glad you are revisiting the Righteous Brothers - you should try their earlier work when they were rockers. My Babe, KoKo Joe, Justine (not the live version… it was ‘sanitized’ for tv) this one th-cam.com/video/N6O-fFgl5vE/w-d-xo.html . ‘I Just Wanna Make Love to You’ is a great blues number.
Christina grimmie has real vocals she was a great young singer
Have you seen the Elvis movie yet? It was great.
I like every singer live because if you can’t cut it live. You need another job. These two can do it all live. Thank you.
This was not my fav of their songs cuz the song was too over produced to drown out their incredible vocals. It was a style of that era that left me cold. It’s why some left the music industry cuz great artists like Mickey Newberry had their albums ruined by the over production. Mickey Newberry did a super clean album that was what I’d call his masterpiece in the 1970s then all but left off making albums for decades. Check out his Heaven Help the Child album. There are so many gems in that album like American Trilogy( that Elvis remade but never as well), Cortelia Clark, Sunshine, Sweet Memory, Good Morning Dear and of course, Heaven Help the Child. He was a musicians musician. Famous country and blues artists wanted him on their albums. Thanks for posting your reactions to these old classics
There is one song by the Righteous Brothers that I'm surprised you have not found yet. Please do yourself a favor and listen to them doing "I just wanna make love to you."
Good song, bad mix🎵
