It’s funny when you realize that the only reason Vector was such a successful villain was because his daddy bought him all the best technology. His lair, his ship, he even told Vector where to find the shrink ray after Gru told him. The only things Vector made himself where his weird aquatic creature guns which never really worked.
Say what you want about the sequels, but this first movie is really good. Great characters, heartwarming story, and some legitimately funny moments. The Minions are used just the right amount, too, and don't overstay their welcome. Not here, anyway.
Shoutouts to Despicable Me 1 for being a legit good movie. Heartwarming story, funny villain, good characters overall, and the best use of Minions. They’re used just enough for dumb gags but it’s super tolerable because they are pretty involved in the plot and more emotional moments (ie, stealing the shrink ray twice, Agnes’s new toy, pitching in for the Rocket). That’s all I need
Fun fact: the red ticket numbers on the swan lake ticket is the date that Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon. July 20th 1969 Ticket numbers: 072069
Im not a big fan of the 3rd or 4th Despicable Me movies, but the first and second one are honestly my favorite and will always hold a nostalgic place in my heart.
So, a few fun facts in the franchise's canon. 1) Gru didn't "make" the Minions. They started out as amoebas and developed into their own species and finished their evolution around the time dinosaurs existed, and they look for the most evil being they can find to be their leader. The Minions movie explains this, and how they met Gru, in more detail. 2) There are no female Minions, and they don't reproduce. They're pretty much indestructible and immortal. I believe Gru cloned the original Minions over time so his army of employees would grow. 3)Yes I said employees because Gru pays his Minions. He also knows all of them by name. He might be a villain, but he at least values/cares enough about them that he treats them fairly. 4) "Gru" isn't his first name, it's his surname. His full name is Felonious Gru... There's an extra part to his name now but if I add it, that counts as a spoiler for one of the later movies.
21:00 Yup, my older brother always held his breath when he didn't get his way. My mom would always stop him when he'd start turning purple. When she asked our doctor about what to do, the Doc said "let him pass out, he won't do it again." Sure enough, he held his breath, passed out, head bounced off the floor and woke him right up. Never did it again! Kids sometimes gotta learn the stove is hot through sheer experience XD
Actually many times they said they have watch the movie years ago, but have bad memory so they don't remember, other times, yeah, they didn't watch the movie XD
I love the original Despicable Me, and honestly all the sequels are fine, expect for the fact that Megamind got overshadowed (and eventually culled) because this series.
The other Despicable Me movies are really fun. The Minion movies are okay, noy great. I think you'll like the villain in Despicable Me 3, he's voiced by Trey Parker from South Park.
@@dragonsvideos6737I’ll give you the first point and I’m sure they’d make it some episodic thing. And as I said, I don’t want it, I’m just Surprised they never even tried.
@ it would be fun though, season 1 has vector as the main villain then season 2 has a new guy, 3 brings back old characters, 4 is the final one but is a culmination of all we love. And a healthy dose of minions in between
the first Despicable Me movie was good because it was Illumination's first proper movie, and it only went downhill from here. over time they didn’t try as hard on the stories anymore and just rode on their first movie's popularity by over-saturating everything with Minions and mediocre humor. Despicable Me 2 is alright, tho. the third, fourth and Minions movies are all very juvenile i'd say. thank you for listening to my review please like and subscribe-
Thats just sensalization of Santa. The original history of santa aka saint nick. Is that he was a carpenter, who made toys for orphans and delivered the toys he built to aforementioned orphans.
The Illumination movie, Sing, is also a must to check out in the future! Has some of the best music by the best performers (a few of them no one expected could sing so well), and also Matthew McConaughey.
So, you guys watched the movie that not only brought the origin of the Despicable Me franchise but the start of this very studio. From there, it’s been a hit after hit and the biggest surprise for me was that Hans Zimmer, the modern Beethoven himself, produced it. That is saying something because I’m a massive fan of Hans Zimmer, knew most of his works even the most unlikely of places but never this one and to top it all off, I grew up with this one but never knew that until now. Man, the more you know I guess. Anyway, I look forward to see you guys react more movies from this company. I have some recommendations: all the movies of this franchise, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets, Sing, the sequels of these movies in particular and Migration. I was about to say something but I recall you guys watching the Super Mario Movie so that’s that. Cheers.
This first one was actually decent, because it's done by Sergio Pablo, the guy who would later make "Klaus." My guy knows how to write children in a sentimental way. Movie works because the minions are just gag stuff while the family element is the primary driver of the story. The other movies delve into those yellow bastards at the expense of everything else...
Despicable Me came out in July 2010, and Megamind came out in November 2010. I ADORE both of the first movies, and I think the rest of the Despicable Me/Mininons franchise is also pretty good, with some "just ok" parts at worst...Megamind's sequel movie and follow-up series can continue not existing in my brain. Given that both are about a "villainous" character turning good who have helpers named Minions and Minion, respectively, it's unfortunate that Gru's Minions were the reason Megamind's robot-fish pal had to change his name to "Old Chum."
Personally, I've enjoyed all the sequels so far, including the Minion's spin-off (or rather prequel) movie (still have not actually watched The Minion's 2 Rise of Gru yet tho, haven't gotten around to it yet) I say keep watching them as long as you enjoy them! ^^ I do get where Brie is coming from though, it's similar though not quite as bad for me with Frozen It may not be in every ad anymore, but it still has soooo much merchandise that you'd think that Anna and Elsa are the only Disney Princesses that exist now, it wouldn't be nearly as annoying if only other franchises got at least a fraction of that amount of merch, but you'd have to sift through 100 Anna's, Elsa's and Olaf's each to find just one Moana X'D
The point you bring up about the moons weight is similar to the main problem I have with ant man. pym particles shrink you and make you lighter yet your punches still have the same amount of force as full size. That'd imply you still have the same mass, which means you shouldn't be lighter. Should also mean if you shrink a car then throw it at someone it'd have the same force as being hit by a car.
Water gun one is a scam too, you're usually competing against other players not the house. ND sometimes they even make one gun better so only 1 person can win
4:22 when I saw this as a kid I fall in love with this furball Yep, ask my uncles to buy me the toy for ages ( *two monts* )but they gave me a seal🦭 plush instead
The Girls are my favorite Characters in this Franchise and are my sole main reason for why i would even like see more Movies being made. I hope they get their own Spin-off at some point.
I've seen a few people that dislike the minions and they've never been able to give a valid reason why, at least a reason that actually is accurate. Like when people say they're annoying, well yes that is the whole point. They're not very intelligent, they're immature, they're utterly annoying. That's what makes them absolutely hilarious. Now I do recall a lot more people started hate minions as time went on because they were oversaturated in pop culture and used in everything and it just started to annoy people to no end. Which I can agree that overdoing it probably a nice people but other than that saying they're the worst characters ever just kind of silly. Especially when it's the whole point of them is to be annoying. To be fair I also realize that the noisier people tend to be less common and yet stick out the most so it sounds like a lot more people hate minions than they actually do. The minions are truly terrible characters they wouldn't have spawned multiple spin-offs just based on them it's so many various shorts to watch.
Dudes, even though you reactions are funny, each new video/movie/series you make, you talk more about anything else during whatever you are supposed to react than actually seeing and reacting to it. Your first reaction videos showed more about your reactions and scenes than the last ones.

The common consensus is that the first of these movies is great and the second one is split with plenty of ironic enjoyment from the new angle it brings to the series, but after the second one it's hard to call any of the movies good. The first minion movie for me gets plenty of meme value though and is probably worth a watch.
this is the best movie with the Minions, like them or not, but they are in this movie just long enough. They show up for a few gags, they have a few stand alone scenes, they work well and are funny when there. but the main movie is Gru and the girls, it is a story of 2 groups, both looking for a family, who find it together. It works so well, and is the part that is missing with the other movies. The flaw with the remaining movies is not too much minions (though they obviously get bigger roles and more time), it's focusing less on that story line.
Imo, Despicable Me 1, 2, and the first Minions movie are the best ones in the franchise. From there, I stopped caring about the rest of the movies as an adult. Also, ever since this movie, I've wanted Julie Andrews to just bully me all the time for no reason, lmao.
