I 100% agree! This was the most in-depth smoke guide that I have found. I really appreciate all of the explanations and the details and the examples. I was a little bummed to find no other guys for other characters, but you have a subscriber and me in the hope that future videos will come. Great job!
@@pydron I super appreciate the words and support! There will definitely be more to come. I'm finishing up a huge Smoke/Shujinko combo video the next couple days but after that, I've got SubZero and Havik guides in the works!
Agreed. However, there are more move sets I've discovered via this toon, That aren't on this list AND one in particular I've only viewed once on a vid and cannot find anywhere, how to actually do it. I've been trying to figure out the cancel teleport and this is definitely the best example I've found.
Quite possibly the best character breakdown I've seen for any character in any fighting game - ever. Clear explanations, situational and practical; not just a stupid-hard combo against a practice dummy. Thanks for this. I'd love to see you do a follow up video breaking down character match-ups.
Yoo that means a lot, thank you so much! I tried to be as thorough and clear as I could and to try and teach people when to go for certain combos and not just how to do them in a vacuum. So its really awesome to hear that people are into it, so thank you! And ooooh thats an idea I hadn't considered yet. I'm planning to do a Smoke invisibility guide, cuz i didn't really talk about it in this guide and I wanna do a few kameo synergy guides. But also, I just finished my Sub-Zero guide, which is rendering right now and should be live tomorrow Saturday morning(EST) I'll definitely think about doing some Smoke match-up breakdowns, so thanks for the suggestion!
I know there are multiple comments saying something similar, but damn dude this guide is EASILY the best character guide I've ever watched...and I've watched a lot. Definitely subscribed. I sincerely hope your channel grows as much as you want it do. The work you put into this video is insane. YOU are awesome and we appreciate YOU. :)
Shit dude, I appreciate that a lot. Before I put this guide out, I was worried if this exhaustive style of guide video would even have any kind of audience compared to a shorter and to the point overview type guide that most people make, so literally any comment like this means a whole lot and encourages me to keep to this style of guides for future ones, so thank you!!! And it's super dope that you said all that. Idk if youve seen but I just recently put out a Sub-Zero guide that I tried to put even more into than I did for the Smoke one, and I'm currently finishing a Smoke and Sektor kameo guide that I hope to upload either tomorrow or Friday. But again, thank you so much for the kind words dude, it really means a lot ✊
still a MONTH LATER. THE BEST GUIDE on MK1. PERIOD. subd. are you a teacher or something in the Earth Realm? lol. dude im 43 and its not easy getting some of these strings out. this helped immensely ! il be checking back on the regular here !
Thats awesome of you to say, thank you! And actually no, I dont do anything remotely similar to teaching lmao. Just been playing competitive smash and fighting games for years and wanted to try my hand at helping people learn characters and dope combos, so the positive feedback is really awesome! I'm finishing up a Sub-Zero guide to hopefully have up the next few days, and then I have a Havik one in the works if you're into either of those. Otherwise, it's always sick to hear people above 30 still playing fighting games!
Bro this helps me understand so much more then what other youtubers streamers or just other players of the game say all the time " just practice more" this tells me WHAT to practices thank you subed
That's exactly what I was hoping people would get from this, so that's awesome to hear that it helped you! And thank you for the support! There will be more guides to come!
Not sure if you have this combo string listed but Cameo: sareena. B4 -> F32 -> Back cameo -> F32 -> Back cameo -> 32 -> F12(grab or 1+2) -> DB4ex -> 112. now looking at the frame data even though the timming is weird and the system saids you'll drop the combo a few times in it for some reason it doesnt take in acount recover frames so it ends up being a full combo with a damage scale reset im sure its a bug but it does happen heres the proof th-cam.com/video/i6wFl8QB0yg/w-d-xo.html @@AwesomeBRINKS

When making the ultimate burger, do not worry about what will fit within the diameter of the buns or your mouth. Only worry about how much food stuffs will fit into the toilet and how long it will take to get there. If you make a burger so ponderous you have to fill the bowl twice before finishing your fries and ice cream, you truly have made a masterpiece.

Thank you sensei. I just picked up this game and love Smoke’s rush down style. I got familiar with some of his simple string combos but didn’t know how to tie it together. This helped me a lot.
He's genuinely such a fun character, and I'm glad it helped!! I also just finished a Sub-Zero guide a few days ago, so feel free to check that out, cuz Sub is a pretty cool character too, tho much less rushdown than Smoke lol
@@AwesomeBRINKS Boss, any suggestions on how to chain the EX DB4 together? I keep telling my head to slow down, and I'll hit it like 30% of the time. But the rest of the time, Smoke just slides underneath the opponent before he hits the ground. Is it a matter of my timing?
@@SStrunks Actually yes, so if you're doing 32->J11->EX DB4, then you need to delay for quite a while before doing the 2nd J11->EX DB4 If you're hitting a raw EXDB4, you have to delay it just as much The after the first rep, its a much shorter delay before the next J11 into telelport and if you did any kind of juggle into F121+3->EXDB4, then you don't really delay anything, and just kinda do all the J11s as soon as you're actionable after the EX DB4 And either way if you're doing 3 reps, then the J11 into the last EXDB4 you want to do pretty much as fast as possible to make sure you can land the J112 after the final teleport The flowchart I try to use is: Have I juggled them at all before the teleport or J11? NO -> Long delay J11 after the 1st tele YES -> Was it many hits? -YES -> Dont delay J11 after 1st tele -NO -> Slight delay J11 after 1st tele The most important thing to remember is any ground starter into 32->J11->EXDB4 is going to be a long delayed J11 after the 1st tele, and a slight delayed J11 after the 2nd Generally tho, I only go for the full 3 bars if I get a raw 32 or F4 cuz its the only starter that breaks 50% i believe(or if spending all 3 bars would get you the round or game) And if you're just going for 1 EXDB4 into J112, you don't need to delay anything I hope that wasn't confusing. If you have any more questions lemme know!
@@SStrunks No problem! And oh okay yea for that one its definitely a really long delay J11 after the first tele. Basically you're waiting until Smoke starts to fall before you input the J11-EXDB4 if that makes sense

HUGE note on the dash cancel practice. You CANNOT do more than one cancel per combo on hit. If you don’t set the opponent to block always, it won’t work and you’ll end up smashing your head against a wall for an hour like I did.
Oh yes, very good clarification! I should have specified that in the video. Additional note, id strongly recommend you practice it on both sides too. So from left to right, and right to left. Im much worse at it from right to left. Also, you CAN do multiple cancels in the same combo, but consecutive ones have to be EX BF3. There's almost no reason to ever spend the meter on it but it is a thing thats possible lmao
@@AwesomeBRINKS good to know. Yeah, that seems like it would be pointless for anything other than as a flex haha. Also, I’m terrible at playing on the player 2 side. It’s really something I should practice more often, but the Smoke cancels seem to be pretty much equal in difficulty on both sides. F1 > 2 dash cancel is definitely the easiest. F3 > 2 is less forgiving. B2 is sadistically unforgiving.
@@artOVtrolling in my own labbing, yes exactly lol. Even on combos where the gravity is too high to connect a J112 after multiple DB4EX, spending bar on an extra F32->cancel before the launch ended up scaling it too much to be worth it. And yup same. I think my whole video i did from player 1 side, so im super not used to doing any of the cancels from that direction. And thats exactly the order I'd put them in too lol. Though lately I think ive been messing up F32 more than I mess up B2 If you want another weird one to practice, D34 is a good double low poke that you can cancel on hit or on block. It doesn't combo but you have more advantage obviously
Yes, good advice! There are definitely a lot of kameo options to help you get around some of the higher execution stuff that Smoke has, and Sub is a good one. Sektor Up Punch, Goro grab, Kung Lao spin, are all good ones too.
This guide was very well done. I really like how you structured it. I’d appreciate if you could maybe do other characters as well in this same manner. Either way you gained a sub ❤️
Thank you for saying that! I put a lot into structuring everything so its awesome to hear that! And don't worry, there will be a huge combo showcase coming out next(hopefully tomorrow) but then otherwise, Sub-Zero and Havik guides are in the works if you're interested! And thank you for the support!
Hell yea there ya go! I hope it helps, and if you have any questions lemme know. Smoke is a very unsafe character if you know what to look out for(upblocking the second hit of F32 or B2, reacting to the startup of teleport and blocking it and then punishing with whatever you want, knowing which cancels you can poke out of, etc.)
Ex Teleport Cancel after Air112 is guaranteed. Unless it's empty teleport or at the start of combo, don't use Ex teleport. Instead use an assist with teleport for more damage. his meter is mostly used for his armor and invicibility.
112 is not special cancellable so im not sure what you mean about EX tele cancel being guaranteed. Do you just mean after the J11? Also I've not been able to find a good reason to spend bar on an EX cancel. You're very plus but its not like you're negative if you just end it with J112. And for the second part, it depends on the kameo. Goro, Scorpion, Jax, etc can extend from regular teleport, but if you're using something like Sektor for the extra safety on your mix, then you have to spend the bar to extend your teleport combos. Definitely good to save some bar for armor though, but its nice to be able to just delete someone if you open them up while having 2 or 3 bars, regardless of kameos. Thats the coolest part of this game, is that you can make a lot of different decisions like that depending on your kameos and desired playstyle, and Smoke definitely has a lot of options whenever he gets a hit!
@@AwesomeBRINKS I only mean after Air112 as soon as your feet hits the ground if you go to Ex Teleport Cancel you're still having an advantage. Many people use Ex Teleport to get more damage but unless if the combo is started from empty teleport or immediately after any launcher it only gives you 2 to 3 percent more damage and it can be done with a kameo instead. Any kind of kameo that works with his teleport gives him an edge.
@@BlackGeine ohhh you're saying the knockdown from J112 gives you enough time to guaranteed get an invisibility off(from EX DB4)? Yes the teleport scales harder depending on the launcher, and I find its usually only worth it to spend 2 bars because the 3rd doesn't add as much damage, but there have been plenty of times where I just wanted to guarantee that the combo would kill them before they got breaker so using all 3 bars in that situation is good. It all depends. And like I said, I think choosing a kameo that can make you safer on block (like Sektor missile) can make it much better overall for Smoke than just picking a kameo that gives you better meterless combos. But it all depends on the match up and playstyle. Thats the dope part about kameos is how many combinations are viable
just started playing mk1. trying smoke 1st and this is best videon on him ive seen. How do you handle block gods a smoke. Everyone i go against blocks 99% of stuff - cant land nuetral starters
Thats awesome to hear, thank you! And honestly, lots of throws to make them second guess your pressure. I like to do F3->cancel and then throw, or instead of throw, do another F3 or a 1114. If they let you get away with multiple cancels on block, then you can really get crazy and do like, F3->cancel into B2->cancel(and combo if it hits). Otherwise, I didnt get into it my video but im working on a separate video to talk about it, but going invisible whenever you can is the other way to really open people up. Usually F121+3 into EXDB2 is the safest. But you can play around with canceling into invisibility with EXDB4->cancel too Also trying to make people swing preemptively at you, and outspacing it and whiff punishing them with F12->cancel->combo always feels amazing to do
The BF4 cancel is just too difficult for me to perform consistantly in a combo string. I use a kemeo instead. Otherwise I still like the versatility he has. I used the Scorpion kameo with him for an additional overhead mix up opportunity with forward kameo summon. 212 is 4 hit combo that can be special cancelable OR kameo summonable on the 3rd hit that can lead to the most damage.
Thats understandable. It is one of the harder inputs to do consistently in this game. And yes, kameos are awesome in how much they let you customize your playstyle like that, and im glad you found a way to still enjoy playing the character!
Yessss that's the only thing that I wish was a bit different with Smoke. It would be amazing if you could do 1 rep of air combo into an EX air telecancel and continue the juggle on the ground somehow.
Awesome, thanks for the support and kind words! And yes actually, so in most cases after the first DB4, you have to delay the J11 a certain amount in order to make sure the rest of the combo connects. If you're comboing from a raw DB4, then you have to delay by around half a second before the J11/J21 If you're comboing from a DB4 after some other launcher(like 32 or F121+3) it will be a slightly shorter delay since the opponent will fall faster due to the slightly increased gravity from the previous hits Its hard to describe the exact amount of delay, so I'd recommend going to training mode and just getting a feel for how much you have to delay the J11 after different starters, and it'll eventually become more intuitive If you practice the routes from: Raw DB4EX F121+3->DB4EX and 32->F121+3->DB4EX it should give you enough of a feel between the different amounts of delay you'll need in order to connect additional J11->DB4 reps I hope that helps!
@@tenka9522 oooh yes if Smoke slides under them during the DB4, that means you have to wait a tiny bit longer before inputting it after the J11 If Smoke slides into them or doesn't reach them before they hit the ground, then that means you need to delay slightly less
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!! And honestly, the way I did it was to start with canceling it on its own, and just really getting a feel for which part of the animation you need to input the cancel during. Its also a lot more lenient if you do it on its own Then once you start to get that down, I find its easiest to practice F12->BF3(cancel) and just really pay attention to the animations and try and get a feel for the rhythm of your inputs. You input the BF3 during the string youre doing before, so if you input the cancel too fast, Smoke will just do the regular BF3. You basically wanna press Back+Block the moment you see Smoke start to disappear into a smoke cloud(which is the beginning of the BF3 animation) Also make sure you're only pressing the input one time. If you timed it right, it'll come out. Mashing multiple inputs will just make it harder to figure out if you were too slow or too fast and could even give you the wrong input When you really start getting a feel for it off of F12, I think it'll make it easier to learn the timing of the cancel after F32 and B2 as well, which are harder imo Hopefully that helps and makes sense, lemme know if you have any further questions!

Dude, for the combi at 31:11 (combo 24) its literally fuckin impossible to hit that grab at the end of F121 after doing 32 twice. Any tips?? Its the only thing messing me up I even got the cancel down
@@danielm4136 honestly its really just about trying to land that first hit of the F1 as close to the bottom of the opponent as possible to give you the most time to connect the rest of the string. You pretty much want the F1 to hit them at the bottom of their knee if that makes sense. And if youre worried about dropping, you can always do the trick where you whiff the 1st kick of the 2nd 32 which makes it a lot easier to connect the f12grab Lemme know if you have further questions! Sorry for the late reply, and good job on getting the cancel down!
weird but you get more damage for the meter dump combos if you dont have vapor cancel strings, just 32 into 11db4 amp x3 into 112 and you get around 51%
Yes, so imo, the best way is to break it into smaller parts: First get a feel for canceling the move raw. So just inputting BF3 and then inputting the cancel. Your window to cancel it is slightly bigger when doing it raw from far away compared to doing it upclose, so I think its easier to learn that first You wanna press the cancel input slightly after Smoke starts to turn into a smoke cloud. Try to pay attention to the rhythm of the buttons. Im a drummer so this was super helpful for me to listen to the literal sound the controller made for the inputs to get a feel for the timing lol As you get more consistent with that, I would set the CPU to always block, and then with Smoke, walk up to them and do a F12->BF3 and try and cancel. And whether you mess up or pull it off, just do another F12->BF3(cancel). And basically keep practicing this to try and get 3 in a row. And then when you get more comfortable with that, try 5 in a row. And then I'd recommend trying it off of a F32 and a B2, cuz the timing on those feels a little different I hope that was helpful, lemme know if you have any further questions!
Hey serious question for anyone who’s been playing this game for a bit and is decently good. I’m on a ps5 controller and was wondering if I should be using my joystick at all when playing this game or stick exclusively to the dpad(arrows on the left) when in neutral, doing combos, calling cameos, blocking, etc. Rn I use a mix of both and it’s effecting my gameplay and I wanna know if I just need to get used to it or switch to one exclusively.
I've been playing since MKX and I've always used the D-Pad exclusively. I've never found the analog stick(joystick) to be reliable or precise enough for either move inputs or movement. My personal recommendation is you try and get used to just the dpad. I think most people tend to use the dpad as well, and I think you'll start to find its just much more precise than the stick. Especially for stuff like back->forward inputs, and you can input a dash(double tapping forward) much faster with the buttons of the dpad than having to fully move the joystick forward twice in quick succession
I unfortunately couldn't find a lot of uses for Jax with Smoke. I do have a combo at 0:28 though with Jax. But using his grab to extend after a BF3 is the only unique thing I found with him. He could probly combo off a meterless DB4 tho at least. But I think Sektor, Goro, and Scorpion all are better kameos for Smoke than Jax atm
@@AwesomeBRINKS honestly yeah you’re not really wrong. You have to get super creative to throw Jax in Smoke’s combos but he can lead to huge damage. B23/B234 is great to lead into a grab, same with 212. You can combo F12 1+3 as well and extend combos off that. The BF4’s can be extended with Jax as well and lead to 45-50%+ combo finishers. I’ve even had luck connecting F4 into grab it’s just not reliable or really even worth it on ranked. TLDR: Jax is huge in extending Smoke’s combo potential, he’s just more difficult to use than Scorpion, Cyrax, or Goro
@@jeremiahlawrence905 B23 makes sense but I didnt even think about B234 or 212 conversions. F4 sounds fun too but I can see that being difficult. You've convinced me to do some labbing with Jax lol. To be fair though, I think any kameo with a good ambush is great for Smoke, at least in terms of combo extension. I gotta try more Sektor tho, since the missile can be really good for keeping your mix/pressure safe, and the restand that you get from flameburner would be super useful for Smoke Goro and Scorpion are definitely the easiest extensions though. I haven't messed with Cyrax much. The fact that everyone is using him makes me wanna try other kameos. Stryker sounds cool with Smoke too on paper
@@AwesomeBRINKS yeah for sure try it out. Some combos honestly are just for fun like F4 or even connecting after 32 but besides that Jax is kinda nuts on Smoke. Would def recommend there’s not enough Smoke + Jax gameplay
@@jeremiahlawrence905 For sure. Its nice to hear other Smoke players getting creative and not just using Sareena though lmao. I think she's honestly one of the least useful kameos for Smoke. I'm currently finishing up a huge Smoke/Shujinko combo video that ill hopefully have uploaded during the week. After, i want to revisit some other kameo pairings with Smoke and you've convinced me to add Jax to the top of that list
That would be an EXDB4 cancel. The input is EXDB4 and then immediately holding forward. If you cancel an air EXDB4, you just reappear on the ground behind the opponent, but if you cancel the EXDB4 on the ground, then you turn invisible in a puff of smoke
I go bk1 3 4 string (call close jax slam just as 3 hits) then 2 1 grab string, Ex db4 21, Ex db4 11 (if u try 21 one it always drops)normal db4 into far jax grab finish with f4. 505 damage it takes a few goes to time but usually after u do it once u will probably do 8/10 maybe more if u can time the db4s better than me I find u have to do those air inputs fast. The fatal blow combo is basically the first part of this combo up to the f1 2 grab string then hit fb just before the end of animation. 496.63 damage
I just realised 11 in the air does more than 21 so do 11 and 11 again on the next one. Timings a lil different but can get 521.64 damage. Just been practicing it lol
@@kaosreality7154 Do you mean B234? And F12 grab string? 1=square/X(xbox) 2=triangle/Y 3=X(ps)/A 4=circle/B But ooooh ill have to try that out. I'm still too attached to Sektor atm lol 505 for only 2 bars is really good though. Smoke's optimal 3 bar cashout by himself is ~517
Yes, I haven't labbed it much but I think Low Hat would do a lot for Smoke. It especially could stop the opponent from easily UpBlocking your F32 or B2 and you could even open them up from it potentially
@AwesomeBRINKS I was labbing Motaro because he also has that really fast pose low that i think is armored, but it feels like overall for general use he's like budget Kunglao the Reflect though is funny but extremely unnecessary
@@2ndai385 Yea I honestly couldn't find much with Motaro as Smoke. The things Smoke wants from a kameo the most imo are safety on your mix, specifically to stop them from UpBlocking and punishing your F32/B2, and Motaro doesn't really give you anything for that, whereas Sektor and KL both do
@AwesomeBRINKS I also saw ppl finally exploring Sareena again not for the double projectile but for the one assit call she has because it makes you -3 for saftey
@@2ndai385 Yea I honestly think that's the best part about that kameo, at least for Smoke. The meter drain is really good too because of how long you can keep people grounded during some of your combos. The Sareena demon kick move is an ambush though so it unfortunately doesn't stop them from UpBlock punishing your F32. I still think Sektor or KL is the future for Smoke though. I wanna make a video going over Smoke's best kameo options in depth
Do you mean that the cancel comes out slower after the F32? Or the move you do after the cancel is coming out slower? Cuz the F32 into BF3(cancel) should always be happening at the same time in the animation I believe
Does anyone have tips for consistently landing jump attacks after using his enhanced tele/armor? I can't actually see Smoke once he goes invisible, so I can't tell when his initial animation is over to do a j2 or j3, and you can't mash it early.
Personally, I rely on the audio of attack sounds while invisible to know when to input stuff. So if you open them up with F32 into cancel into 32, the double kick into uppercut of 32 has a pretty distinctive sound, and you basically just react to the sound of the 3rd hit, along with seeing the opponent launch into the air, and you can just hold up/toward them, and get a feel for the height of the opponent where you'd be hitting them if you were visible, then you can input the J11/J112 at about that timing. Its a mix of reacting to the audio cues, and also getting a feel for the timing and rhythm of the combos without needing to completely see whats happening to land your midcombo juggles if that all makes sense I hope that answered your question! Lemme know if you need further advice or have more questions!
So in MK, the input buffer works in that you don't really press each button in time with the animation, but more so that you "dial it in", basically all in quick succession. For F12 specifically, you can just press the Forward and square at the same time, and then roll your thumb to X immediately after, then you can immediately press square and X at the same time, OR you can press your throw button (which is a pre-programmed shortcut for Square and X), which i think by default is R1 or L1. If the Square+X part of the move isn't coming out, it means you're probly pressing it too late and keep trying to input the whole string close together. Hopefully that helps and makes sense, lemme know if you have any further questions!
Is 112 input nerfed? I also input it correctly but he never finishes. Also does 32-32-3 combo still work or am I suppose to stand still after the first 32?
Are you referring to his jump 112? But yes to both of your questions. The only thing that's been changed since this Smoke guide came out, is DB2 does less damage now. All of the inputs and combos discussed and shown still work the same. Lemme know if you have any further questions!
You might wanna pin an "Update" comment, because this guide is a bit outdated. DB2 was bugged and always did 4% (40 dmg) at the end of combos, but that's been patched and it isn't that great of an ender nowdays. Also his entire BF3 cancel pressure is a bit fake, because he's never + on block out of the cancel.
Thats a good point on the DB2 thing. I originally figured it wasn't that big of a deal since it still does more damage than DB1, but I've realized I almost always go for DB1 now cuz I'd rather have the oki than the side switch. Actually tho for the cancel pressure, I'm planning just a big guide vid for that. Its all definitely negative, but I dont think its fake. You can create a lot of weird layered mind games since some cancels are punishable with pokes but others aren't and it let's you enforce some weird mini games that I really wanna explore and explain in a big cancel guide
@@syriosf Most of the info in the video is still the case. Only out-of date thing is the damage that DB2 does. Cancel pressure isn't exactly fake, but is its own kind of mindgame which im going to make a video on. Doing a sort of follow up Smoke guide vid this week tho, and shooting for a Friday or Saturday release! Won't be a direct follow up, but should be a lot of good info in there regarding Smoke pressure and counterplay
@@syriosf No problem! And well I hope this guide has been a good start! I still stand by that 99% of what I said in it is still valid and isn't outdated. And if you want some extra stuff, my Kameo Klass videos should give you a lot as well, and if you ever have any Smoke questions or need something clarified, feel free to comment on any of my stuff and ill hopefully be able to answer your questions!!
So the numbers refer to the face buttons, which equate to your attacks. Then the directions are just the directions you input on the D-pad of your controller So there's Up, Down, Forward and Back And for the buttons 1 = PS Square, Xbox X, Switch Y 2 = PS Triangle, Xbox Y, Switch X 3 = PS X, Xbox A, Switch B 4 = PS Circle, Xbox B, Switch A As you can see, all 3 consoles have different button layouts so we use the numbers to refer to them so that everyone knows what youre talking about, regardless of system One of Smoke's best moves, is F1,2, 1+3 That means you press Forward and 1, then 2, then the 1&3 buttons at the same time to do the string Hopefully that answers your questions!
Whenever I do a BF3 cancel after 21 I can’t attack for like a full second after the cancel am I doing it wrong? I’m a new player so this is most likely just me not being fast enough 😂
Are you pressing the button after the cancel multiple times, or trying to press it once at a specific time? I've found for a lot of inputs in MK, if you try to press the button multiple times to guarantee it comes out, the input ends up coming out late. I think whats happening is there is a specific window you have to press it during, and if you press too soon, it will ignore the input. Idk if that made sense but basically there is a sweet spot timing to press the input after the cancel to get it come out. I'd recommend doing 212 into the cancel, and then trying to just press 1 right after you see the flash from the cancel happen and getting it to combo from the 212. Try and only press it one time so you can better figure out how to fix your timing. If the 1 doesn't come out, you probly pressed it too soon after the cancel. If it comes out but doesn't continue the combo after the 212(so it should say 4 hits), then you pressed 1 too late Lemme know if you have more questions, I hope that helps! It's a tough input to get down!
@@NM-rj4gk Actually youre not doing it too slow at all! So 212 only has enough advantage after a cancel to combo into 1114. B2, F32, and F12 all have enough advantage after the cancel to combo into 32. So if you've mastered 212 cancel into 1114, I would practice getting those other ones down I find F12 to be the easiest, and F32 and B2 are both a bit harder to time
@@AwesomeBRINKS I just realized how stupid I was Lmaoo I was doing 21 into cancel and I’m like no way you can get the kick to chain. now that I’m doing it right yeah it’s pretty easy 😂 thanks for the help I really appreciate it. I will be watching what u put out in the future
@@NM-rj4gk Haha happens to the best of us. And no problem, I'm glad you've got it all figured out now! And thats awesome to hear, thank you! I've got a Sub-Zero guide coming out soon and then I've got some Smoke kameo guides I wanna make
Oh do you mean D34? I didnt really go over pokes in these videos because their application is pretty universal, but given that Smokes is a 2 hitting one, i definitely should have put a little section about them and the mind game you can do with them into smokeball or bf3 cancels lol
LOL for some reason, when I was updating my position to a certain point in training mode, it glitched tf out when i reset and teleported the characters to each other's position instantly before correcting. So after realizing this, I just spammed the reset button for a few seconds and boom, ridiculous clip to start the video with lmao
I can play smoke but i dont really know any of his combos, I get that this is probably a grat tutorial but i guess its just too fast for me to process, also idk if it's just my internet but when I watch this video its pretty low quality.
@@stopmotionyoutuber4599 The video quality goes up to 4k so it might just be your internet/app making it default to lower quality And well the video is meant to teach people in a detailed but general sense, how to play the character and how to think about combos, so is there a specific area where you feel I missed the mark? Or is the whole video just too fast? Something I tend to do when I'm watching fighting game tutorials is to watch it in smaller portions while I have the game open, so that I can try out each thing in the video. I'm a much more hands on type of learner like that and I tried to structure my guide so that people would be able to take it in chunks, and then try it out as they learn, so I'd recommend that approach if you haven't tried that yet!
@AwesomeBRINKS At first glance I may have over estimated how hard this was gonna be, it still seems like a lot to me but I just need to power through and learn it. I tried to do it in chunks but since I don't know any of his combos it's like starting from scratch. Right now I'm trying to get the "Forward-1-2-13" I think that's what it was with the "Back-Forward-3 (Cancel)" memorized. I'll get it eventually I just need to stop complaining about it and do it.
@@stopmotionyoutuber4599 Thats the spirit! Thats exactly what you gotta do and its dope that you came to that realization so quickly! A lot of people tend to get overwhelmed by fighting games and the amount of stuff there is to learn and don't stick around long enough to figure out that you don't have to just try and learn absolutely everything immediately. Like learning a new hobby or instrument or anything like that, you start small and take it step by step. What I usually tell people with learning new characters is to try and just learn the moves on a basic level. Such as what each button does. And you can even break that down to just a handful of moves/strings. Even just 1 string. And then as you start to get the hang of it, you add a new piece into the mix at whatever pace works for you And that sounds like a great starting point, to learn F121+3, and the BF3 cancel. Specifically, if you can do F12 into the BF3 cancel, you can then add F121+3 after the cancel, and it will all combo. And as you get that down, you can start to figure out what his other moves are and how they mesh with what you've learned already. I hope you stick with it and get the hang of it!! Lemme know if you have any questions or need advice or anything!
As the self proclaimed Smoke god and idiot nerd labber prodigy it's comprehensive but a lot of these combos are wasted space and effort. 1: Max delay between all 3 hits of J112 allows you to get more of the hit advantage, allowing you to double dash , be on top of them AND still be at advantage. Midscreen all you need for enders is J112 or F121+3~DB2. Nothing else. 2: The anti air combo is a good start but you eventually have to learn S1, micro dash, 32, J112/F121+3~DB2. Moving right to F121+3 after S1 is only worth it for bar spending or Kameo assist extensions 3: Combo 8 is insane. No Smoke player should ever do this under any circumstances. You can out corner carry and out damage without using meter with so many combos. To boot, it gives your opponent more meter than you gain. Never do this combo. 4: Combo 10 is vomit inducing. Literally just do f12 into ex teleport or do 32 into triple teleport loop like what is this No wonder so many of you fellow Smoke players lose to me when you're consuming content like this. It's also no wonder this guy thinks Smoke needs buffs lol I'm not even trying to be a hater but I hate false information and bad advice being given concerning my character.
Pretty sure youtube deleted my comment because it was too hateful. Which is a shame because I really wanted you to read it. But in short: you're a pathetic excuse for an adult male. You lose to other smokes. Suck your dad's dick.
First, I appreciate the feedback Second, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't actually look at the upload date, but this was from like 2 weeks after launch, so not everything was fully optimized yet, and to add to that, I never made the claim that all the combos were entirely optimal. It was more a showcase of what links into what, to get people started with the character and experimenting with routes, especially with how much kameos can alter said routes. So some of the combos are generally not shit you wanna use, but in the interest of just teaching people what leads to what, I kept some of those in(combos 8 and 10 as you referenced). Also some people dont play this game competitively or even online, and might not be able to do cancels consistently or connect some of the more optimal shit, or fully hit confirm, so I still kept in some less than ideal combos that would still work for those people or to just give them slightly different routes, such as just raw f12g into 3 bar ex tele. I'll concede that I could have more clearly marked some of these combos as being better than others, but the specifics of total combo optimization wasn't the focus of this video and I never claimed otherwise. It was just to showcase different options, while not assuming a certain skill level of the person watching. Also, this was my very first video, and there are still things I would do differently if I could make it again. For one, I managed to make a 30 min Smoke guide while barely mentioning invis lmao But to your specific points: 1: True on the first part, but the difference is not huge, as its still a very plus knockdown regardless, but that is good info. For the second part, disagree about only needing those two enders midscreen. DB1 is still worthwhile if you dont want to side switch, or you want your combo to take slightly longer to wait for your kameo meter to return(I do this sometimes with Sektor so I have a single or even double missile ready by the time the combo ends). Sometimes doing J11 into air tele cancel is also worth doing for setup, depending on kameo, and then obviously ending combos in f12~exdb2~j1 for invis is very relevant. Most of that is stuff I would have covered if I could make the video again, but it was still early game and meta. 2: Agreed on the anti air part. But again, I hadnt found that route at the time, so it wasnt in the video 3: It's certainly not optimal, but I kept it in to just show that if you get a f12g and havent used a cancel or any juggle gravity, you can still combo into another f12g and then whatever you want. Definitely not the most relevant piece of info since anyone remotely competitive is probly not starting a combo with f12g, but I didn't want to fully exclude niche info like that, incase it was found to be more relevant in some niche kameo route or something not known at the time. And the point of the video was teaching people how the characters moves work and what leads to what, and in what situations. So it stayed in 4: Similar to the previous point, was mostly just to show that if you land a f12g to start, you can still dump all your resources and connect 3 ex teles. No need for a cancel or hit confirm. Agreed doing just f12 into ex tele is better, but I believe I was just showing that f12g leads to an easy resource dump combo as well. Part of the mix of combos was the hope that as people learn the character and listen to what I've explained, they can eventually start to distinguish which are the "beginner combos" that you shouldnt do in a serious match, and which are the "yea you CAN do this if you want" type combos. Again, if there was something niche or unique as far as routes or extensions, I tried to include it somehow, as the point was to try and teach all that info to people that were likely starting from scratch with the game/character And to respond to the last part: You could have just kept your comment as reasonable feedback and criticism, which I will always appreciate and encourage, but for some reason you had to bring your ego into it here at the end and brag about beating "so many" fellow smoke players as if that would make you seem more credible or impressive. There is nothing wrong with "content like this", and im sorry you seem to have misconstrued a lot of the point of it. And I'm not even sure what youre referring to with saying it's unsurprising that I think Smoke needs buffs. I would love to have an actual conversation with you about the character and why you don't think he needs buffs, when literally every other Smoke main, from wifi warriors, to twitter labbers, to content creators, and pro players that travel to events, all agree that the character has some glaring flaws that don't fully make sense. But I guess it's no wonder that the person who thinks Smoke's backdash/backwards wavedash is actually not one of the mathematically worst ones in the game, has misunderstood that Smoke is a balanced character And finally, I challenge you to point out any "false information" in my video(none of your points about the combos prove this since I never made false claims with the combos being optimal), or call attention to anything I said that is bad advice. Because for one, I can't learn from any feedback that is just "X thing bad", and the whole point of videos like this and my channel is for people to learn. So when you just vaguely shit on it without being constructive, it makes you look a lot worse than the thing you're tryna bring attention to. Thank you for your feedback and for watching the video. I implore you to check out more recent videos on my channel for more up to date stuff
Smoke is definitely my favorite. He was the character I was most excited to try when the game came out, and he was just as fun as I hoped he would be.
@@SStrunks Actually yes, so if you're doing 32->J11->EX DB4, then you need to delay for quite a while before doing the 2nd J11->EX DB4
If you're hitting a raw EXDB4, you have to delay it just as much
The after the first rep, its a much shorter delay before the next J11 into telelport and if you did any kind of juggle into F121+3->EXDB4, then you don't really delay anything, and just kinda do all the J11s as soon as you're actionable after the EX DB4
And either way if you're doing 3 reps, then the J11 into the last EXDB4 you want to do pretty much as fast as possible to make sure you can land the J112 after the final teleport
The flowchart I try to use is:
Have I juggled them at all before the teleport or J11?
NO -> Long delay J11 after the 1st tele
YES -> Was it many hits?
-YES -> Dont delay J11 after 1st tele
-NO -> Slight delay J11 after 1st tele
The most important thing to remember is any ground starter into 32->J11->EXDB4 is going to be a long delayed J11 after the 1st tele, and a slight delayed J11 after the 2nd
Generally tho, I only go for the full 3 bars if I get a raw 32 or F4 cuz its the only starter that breaks 50% i believe(or if spending all 3 bars would get you the round or game)
And if you're just going for 1 EXDB4 into J112, you don't need to delay anything
I hope that wasn't confusing. If you have any more questions lemme know!
@@AwesomeBRINKS Thanks for the clarification. I was trying to do the F4 cancel into EXDB4 > J11 > EXDB4 > J112.
@@SStrunks No problem! And oh okay yea for that one its definitely a really long delay J11 after the first tele. Basically you're waiting until Smoke starts to fall before you input the J11-EXDB4 if that makes sense

That's really awesome to hear, thank you so much! I will definitely be making more guides. I have a fun kameo focused Smoke video that will hopefully be out the next couple days, then I promised another viewer that Sub-Zero would be the next guide. @@ticonderoga8000 That's awesome, yea id love to see it! My Twitter should be linked to my TH-cam, otherwise I'm cool with Discord too
HUGE note on the dash cancel practice.
Though lately I think ive been messing up F32 more than I mess up B2
If you want another weird one to practice, D34 is a good double low poke that you can cancel on hit or on block. It doesn't combo but you have more advantage obviously
Amazing guide. God bless you
Thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
If your struggling with the cancel just use sub zero as your cameo. F32 into his freeze and then no need for cancel
Yo idk if youre still around but the Sub-Zero Guide has been finished and is up if youre still interested!
Watching this so I can figure out how to counter smoke mains on KL
Hell yea there ya go! I hope it helps, and if you have any questions lemme know. Smoke is a very unsafe character if you know what to look out for(upblocking the second hit of F32 or B2, reacting to the startup of teleport and blocking it and then punishing with whatever you want, knowing which cancels you can poke out of, etc.)
thanks for the guide man great video
Thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
@@AwesomeBRINKS yes
Very informative and interesting format =]
just started playing mk1. trying smoke 1st and this is best videon on him ive seen.
But you can play around with canceling into invisibility with EXDB4->cancel too
Also trying to make people swing preemptively at you, and outspacing it and whiff punishing them with F12->cancel->combo always feels amazing to do
Will try thanks. Game is way harder than mk11 so far. only lvl20 so hopefully i improve soon lol@@AwesomeBRINKS
@@jpeg.jordaan You got this! Game is a blast once it starts to click, so hopefully you get to that point! Lemme know if you have anymore questions!
And yes, kameos are awesome in how much they let you customize your playstyle like that, and im glad you found a way to still enjoy playing the character!
good guide, thanks!
Thank you, I'm glad you found value in it!
It would be awesome if air "J D B 4 F" cancel could provide catches on the ground! And 1 bar meter to that for balance.
Yessss that's the only thing that I wish was a bit different with Smoke. It would be amazing if you could do 1 rep of air combo into an EX air telecancel and continue the juggle on the ground somehow.
Great guide ! Very detailled !
I have a big problem. My DB4 never connect when I perform an J11 or J21 conbo after a launcher...
Any advices ? 🤔
Awesome, thanks for the support and kind words!
And yes actually, so in most cases after the first DB4, you have to delay the J11 a certain amount in order to make sure the rest of the combo connects.
If you're comboing from a raw DB4, then you have to delay by around half a second before the J11/J21
If you're comboing from a DB4 after some other launcher(like 32 or F121+3) it will be a slightly shorter delay since the opponent will fall faster due to the slightly increased gravity from the previous hits
Its hard to describe the exact amount of delay, so I'd recommend going to training mode and just getting a feel for how much you have to delay the J11 after different starters, and it'll eventually become more intuitive
If you practice the routes from:
Raw DB4EX
F121+3->DB4EX
and
32->F121+3->DB4EX
it should give you enough of a feel between the different amounts of delay you'll need in order to connect additional J11->DB4 reps
I hope that helps!
@@AwesomeBRINKS Thanks a lot Man ! I gonna try soon 😊

@@AwesomeBRINKS it's good 😊
Now it's the connect with the additional rep DB4 after J11 and J21
My Smoke slide before my opponent 🥲
@@tenka9522 oooh yes if Smoke slides under them during the DB4, that means you have to wait a tiny bit longer before inputting it after the J11
If Smoke slides into them or doesn't reach them before they hit the ground, then that means you need to delay slightly less
Nice breakdown!! What’s your best advice for practicing viscous vapers bc I can’t get it consistent
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
And honestly, the way I did it was to start with canceling it on its own, and just really getting a feel for which part of the animation you need to input the cancel during. Its also a lot more lenient if you do it on its own
Then once you start to get that down, I find its easiest to practice F12->BF3(cancel) and just really pay attention to the animations and try and get a feel for the rhythm of your inputs. You input the BF3 during the string youre doing before, so if you input the cancel too fast, Smoke will just do the regular BF3. You basically wanna press Back+Block the moment you see Smoke start to disappear into a smoke cloud(which is the beginning of the BF3 animation)
Also make sure you're only pressing the input one time. If you timed it right, it'll come out. Mashing multiple inputs will just make it harder to figure out if you were too slow or too fast and could even give you the wrong input
When you really start getting a feel for it off of F12, I think it'll make it easier to learn the timing of the cancel after F32 and B2 as well, which are harder imo
Hopefully that helps and makes sense, lemme know if you have any further questions!

And if youre worried about dropping, you can always do the trick where you whiff the 1st kick of the 2nd 32 which makes it a lot easier to connect the f12grab
Lemme know if you have further questions! Sorry for the late reply, and good job on getting the cancel down!
weird but you get more damage for the meter dump combos if you dont have vapor cancel strings, just 32 into 11db4 amp x3 into 112 and you get around 51%
Any advice on learning to cancel his vicious vapers? I’m having a really hard time with it.
Yes, so imo, the best way is to break it into smaller parts:
First get a feel for canceling the move raw. So just inputting BF3 and then inputting the cancel. Your window to cancel it is slightly bigger when doing it raw from far away compared to doing it upclose, so I think its easier to learn that first
You wanna press the cancel input slightly after Smoke starts to turn into a smoke cloud. Try to pay attention to the rhythm of the buttons. Im a drummer so this was super helpful for me to listen to the literal sound the controller made for the inputs to get a feel for the timing lol
As you get more consistent with that, I would set the CPU to always block, and then with Smoke, walk up to them and do a F12->BF3 and try and cancel. And whether you mess up or pull it off, just do another F12->BF3(cancel). And basically keep practicing this to try and get 3 in a row. And then when you get more comfortable with that, try 5 in a row.
And then I'd recommend trying it off of a F32 and a B2, cuz the timing on those feels a little different
I hope that was helpful, lemme know if you have any further questions!
No Jax Kameo combos very unfortunate
I gotta try more Sektor tho, since the missile can be really good for keeping your mix/pressure safe, and the restand that you get from flameburner would be super useful for Smoke
Goro and Scorpion are definitely the easiest extensions though.
I have a question. How to do invis without bomb? I’m accidentally done it once in kombat league
That would be an EXDB4 cancel.
The input is EXDB4 and then immediately holding forward. If you cancel an air EXDB4, you just reappear on the ground behind the opponent, but if you cancel the EXDB4 on the ground, then you turn invisible in a puff of smoke
Smoke and jax if you can time jax right mega cobos. I got a 50 percent 3 bars . Also can get 496 on a no bar fatalblow
Oh that sounds sick. I haven't messed with Jax much. What routes do you do for those?
I go bk1 3 4 string (call close jax slam just as 3 hits) then 2 1 grab string, Ex db4 21, Ex db4 11 (if u try 21 one it always drops)normal db4 into far jax grab finish with f4. 505 damage it takes a few goes to time but usually after u do it once u will probably do 8/10 maybe more if u can time the db4s better than me I find u have to do those air inputs fast. The fatal blow combo is basically the first part of this combo up to the f1 2 grab string then hit fb just before the end of animation. 496.63 damage
The 50 is 2 bars I just realised
I just realised 11 in the air does more than 21 so do 11 and 11 again on the next one. Timings a lil different but can get 521.64 damage. Just been practicing it lol
@@kaosreality7154 Do you mean B234? And F12 grab string?
1=square/X(xbox)
2=triangle/Y
3=X(ps)/A
4=circle/B
But ooooh ill have to try that out. I'm still too attached to Sektor atm lol
505 for only 2 bars is really good though. Smoke's optimal 3 bar cashout by himself is ~517
Smoke Kunglao is probably hella gross with the kn0ck down strings that leave you close
Why after i Fw 3 , 2 i can’t go into vapors as fast as i see you do in this video
Its a mix of reacting to the audio cues, and also getting a feel for the timing and rhythm of the combos without needing to completely see whats happening to land your midcombo juggles if that all makes sense
I hope that answered your question! Lemme know if you need further advice or have more questions!
Im new to the game and am struggling getting the buffered imputs for the F12 string launcher where square and x are hit together. Tips pls?
@@AwesomeBRINKS such a simple fix but for a new player not simple…thank you
@@milesmontalvo1084 everyone has to start somewhere, youre welcome! Lemme know if you need any other advice!
Lemme know if you have any further questions!
thanks a lot
@@AwesomeBRINKSupdated video when?
@@syriosf Most of the info in the video is still the case. Only out-of date thing is the damage that DB2 does. Cancel pressure isn't exactly fake, but is its own kind of mindgame which im going to make a video on. Doing a sort of follow up Smoke guide vid this week tho, and shooting for a Friday or Saturday release! Won't be a direct follow up, but should be a lot of good info in there regarding Smoke pressure and counterplay
@@AwesomeBRINKS thanks 🙏 trying to learn smoke, it’s been hard to find really solid guides on certain characters
@@syriosf No problem! And well I hope this guide has been a good start! I still stand by that 99% of what I said in it is still valid and isn't outdated. And if you want some extra stuff, my Kameo Klass videos should give you a lot as well, and if you ever have any Smoke questions or need something clarified, feel free to comment on any of my stuff and ill hopefully be able to answer your questions!!
pls what does the 1, 2 (forward 1, 2)stand for ? I'm new to mk im trying to learn to play with smoke .
So the numbers refer to the face buttons, which equate to your attacks. Then the directions are just the directions you input on the D-pad of your controller
So there's Up, Down, Forward and Back
And for the buttons
1 = PS Square, Xbox X, Switch Y
2 = PS Triangle, Xbox Y, Switch X
3 = PS X, Xbox A, Switch B
4 = PS Circle, Xbox B, Switch A
As you can see, all 3 consoles have different button layouts so we use the numbers to refer to them so that everyone knows what youre talking about, regardless of system
One of Smoke's best moves, is F1,2, 1+3
That means you press Forward and 1, then 2, then the 1&3 buttons at the same time to do the string
Hopefully that answers your questions!
@@AwesomeBRINKS wow thank you so much you've really explained it so well . I'm grateful . thank you a lot
@@rickmens6110 You're welcome! I'm glad I could help! Lemme know if you have any further questions!
Hello , I like your video very much , but can you put Bulgarian subtitles on it! Thank you!
Thank you! I will see what I can do!
If it comes out but doesn't continue the combo after the 212(so it should say 4 hits), then you pressed 1 too late
Lemme know if you have more questions, I hope that helps! It's a tough input to get down!
@@AwesomeBRINKS first off thanks for the help, I’m able to get the 1 off but if I try going for a 2 or 3 I’m too slow, should I just practice more?
@@NM-rj4gk Actually youre not doing it too slow at all! So 212 only has enough advantage after a cancel to combo into 1114.
B2, F32, and F12 all have enough advantage after the cancel to combo into 32. So if you've mastered 212 cancel into 1114, I would practice getting those other ones down
I find F12 to be the easiest, and F32 and B2 are both a bit harder to time
@@AwesomeBRINKS I just realized how stupid I was Lmaoo I was doing 21 into cancel and I’m like no way you can get the kick to chain. now that I’m doing it right yeah it’s pretty easy 😂 thanks for the help I really appreciate it. I will be watching what u put out in the future
@@NM-rj4gk Haha happens to the best of us. And no problem, I'm glad you've got it all figured out now! And thats awesome to hear, thank you! I've got a Sub-Zero guide coming out soon and then I've got some Smoke kameo guides I wanna make
You forgot the low kicky legs
Oh do you mean D34? I didnt really go over pokes in these videos because their application is pretty universal, but given that Smokes is a 2 hitting one, i definitely should have put a little section about them and the mind game you can do with them into smokeball or bf3 cancels lol
Great fucking video bro
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

Yo wtf was tht at the beginning🤣
LOL for some reason, when I was updating my position to a certain point in training mode, it glitched tf out when i reset and teleported the characters to each other's position instantly before correcting. So after realizing this, I just spammed the reset button for a few seconds and boom, ridiculous clip to start the video with lmao
....yea none of this helped me cuz idk wtf I'm doing
I'm sorry to hear that. Is there any way I can help you figure that out? Lemme know if you have any questions!
I can play smoke but i dont really know any of his combos, I get that this is probably a grat tutorial but i guess its just too fast for me to process, also idk if it's just my internet but when I watch this video its pretty low quality.
@@stopmotionyoutuber4599 The video quality goes up to 4k so it might just be your internet/app making it default to lower quality
And well the video is meant to teach people in a detailed but general sense, how to play the character and how to think about combos, so is there a specific area where you feel I missed the mark?
And then as you start to get the hang of it, you add a new piece into the mix at whatever pace works for you
And that sounds like a great starting point, to learn F121+3, and the BF3 cancel.
Moving right to F121+3 after S1 is only worth it for bar spending or Kameo assist extensions
3: Combo 8 is insane. No Smoke player should ever do this under any circumstances. You can out corner carry and out damage without using meter with so many combos. To boot, it gives your opponent more meter than you gain. Never do this combo.
4: Combo 10 is vomit inducing. Literally just do f12 into ex teleport or do 32 into triple teleport loop like what is this
No wonder so many of you fellow Smoke players lose to me when you're consuming content like this. It's also no wonder this guy thinks Smoke needs buffs lol
I'm not even trying to be a hater but I hate false information and bad advice being given concerning my character.
Pretty sure youtube deleted my comment because it was too hateful. Which is a shame because I really wanted you to read it. But in short: you're a pathetic excuse for an adult male. You lose to other smokes. Suck your dad's dick.
First, I appreciate the feedback
Second, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't actually look at the upload date, but this was from like 2 weeks after launch, so not everything was fully optimized yet, and to add to that, I never made the claim that all the combos were entirely optimal.
For one, I managed to make a 30 min Smoke guide while barely mentioning invis lmao
But to your specific points:
1: True on the first part, but the difference is not huge, as its still a very plus knockdown regardless, but that is good info.
But again, I hadnt found that route at the time, so it wasnt in the video
3: It's certainly not optimal, but I kept it in to just show that if you get a f12g and havent used a cancel or any juggle gravity, you can still combo into another f12g and then whatever you want. So it stayed in
4: Similar to the previous point, was mostly just to show that if you land a f12g to start, you can still dump all your resources and connect 3 ex teles. Again, if there was something niche or unique as far as routes or extensions, I tried to include it somehow, as the point was to try and teach all that info to people that were likely starting from scratch with the game/character
And to respond to the last part:
You could have just kept your comment as reasonable feedback and criticism, which I will always appreciate and encourage, but for some reason you had to bring your ego into it here at the end and brag about beating "so many" fellow smoke players as if that would make you seem more credible or impressive.
But I guess it's no wonder that the person who thinks Smoke's backdash/backwards wavedash is actually not one of the mathematically worst ones in the game, has misunderstood that Smoke is a balanced character
And finally, I challenge you to point out any "false information" in my video(none of your points about the combos prove this since I never made false claims with the combos being optimal), or call attention to anything I said that is bad advice.
