    TL;DW: The only times you use cancels as Smoke is when it's ABSOLUTELY safe for you to! In higher levels, people fuzzy guard and jab you out of your mixes. So, with that knowledge you have to adapt to your opponent and create situations where it's completely safe to mix and you won't be punished if your opponent guesses correctly.
    Also, I 100% urge you guys to watch tournaments and see what pro players are doing with your mains! Obviously, online is much different than in-person, but it's a great way to see what works and what doesn't!

    Can 111 hit confirm into anything if I go for a micro duck punish?

      Not that I can think of but F1224 can be extended with DB1 enhanced which with Mavado can be a full setup for 40%+

    What is the advantage of using 212 over any string? Also how does non EX-ed db4 benefit you?

    • @cryingman7679
      @cryingman7679  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One advantage of using 212 is that it's a 3 hit string that has every hit special cancellable including the final hit. So if you were to do 212 on block against an opponent and conditioned them with just the the full string by itself you can catch people trying to take their turn by special cancelling into a Kameo or a special like enhanced db2 (cos armor, if you don't enhance you get hit out of it) or regular bf3 (will beat out any of their buttons, hits mid so it can't be ducked, and you get a knockdown with a lot of hit advantage to setup a wake overhead/low or whatever you want to do). A lot of Smoke players in higher levels (and I'm talking about tournament here, not high rank) don't use meter from db4 unless it's to go invisible. Most of the time you can combo off a db4 from a Kameo instead of having to spend the meter for it because it's much better to save meter for a breaker, or an enhanced db4 cancel/enhanced db2. The only time most people will want to spend meter on db4 for damage is if the combo will either kill their opponent, or they will be very close to dead and they can do a chip setup or Smoke overhead/low mix. Hope this clears some things up, I'd be happy to answer anymore questions!

      @@cryingman7679 but yeah I like using mainly jax for 1 bar 45% combos and I think like 38 meterless, but I might consider using someone like goro kano or cyrax for safety unless you can think of anyone else with a decent ambush like that bc they aren’t my first choices😂

    • @cryingman7679
      @cryingman7679  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TragicMS_0 If you're running Smoke/Jax and it's working out for you, and you're having fun I don't see any reason to change. If you want to try out other Kameos outside of the three you named, I would say Darrius or Stryker. Darrius' ambush is a mid, so people have to block and it can be used as a combo extender and get you tons of damage. His other assists are really good too, with his flip kick adding an overhead you can cancel into which sets up his overhead launcher (so you can force your opponent to take a low overhead at the same time) if it lands. His other assist is the one where you spin him around, and that can be used on block to make you safe though it's not an ambush. He also gives you health instead of taking away health. Stryker is a very underutilized Kameo that I think is really good for Smoke. His far/close grenades are his ambushes and they make you EXTREMELY plus on block so you can mix safely/take another turn when you otherwise wouldn't be able to (they also combo extend as well though you have to do simultaneous inputs), and they are mids. You can call his ambush in on your recovery frames, so when your opponent goes to take their turn they get hit by his grenades which lets you apply pressure again. He has a low and an overhead you can cancel into which adds more to the mix, and he has his re-stand that jails people meaning they have to block and can't try to challenge. Only downside is he takes away health, but he allows you to take many turns.

    • @cryingman7679
      @cryingman7679  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's from his Enhanced Smoke Port Cancel (down back 4, forward). It makes him invisible when enhancing the cancelled version of Smoke Port.

    Im mostly using his F1224 string to be safe and mix... His very low tier at high level it seems... I've been using him since lunch and I've tried adapting so much... ppl just spam down jabs even with me not being crazy and doing unsafe stuff...

    • @cryingman7679
      @cryingman7679  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Smoke gets really hard to play when you reach the higher levels compared to some other characters. You live by the mix and you die by the mix. If people are constantly jab checking you, even when you aren’t doing things super negative, the only thing I can say is wait for them to try and jab check and block it if you expect them to. They’re -10 on block if that happens which means it’s your turn if you block it.

      Smokes fun but if they know the gaps all they do is armor F324 can get you killed if they up block

    The smoke port cancel is hella negative even when you cancel it from strings

    • @cryingman7679
      @cryingman7679  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is EXTREMELY negative, which is why you need to have a Kameo that has an ambush to do it safely. That’s the only way where you can do it without getting jab checked.

      hate to break it to you but this is a silly perspective to have, everyone's D1 is the same in this game and all it does is reset neutral. NO ONE can D1 "spam". you have to know your frame data. It's 7 frames of start-up and -9 on block. meaning you can just press your D1 after you block it. Or in a game where grabs are 10 frames... just grab if they try to do anything buy a button that doesnt combo into anything for 2% dmg. Hope this helps.

    Down 1 is basically a killer for smoke 🙄 and that move is basically mk, so 🙄 yeeea my boy is low tier 🙄 cant believe NRS didn't even think about that 🙄
    I was sooooo hype for my boy smoke, i was waiting for him since mk9 and now am in higher level and i only fight top tiers doing pressure that ends in -6 🙄. Nobody respect him NOBODY everyone mash down 1 and thats it 🙄
    Is soo frustrating that i cant even cancel because smoke gets hit by that fk down 1
    And not just the cancel, the back overhead the (28 frames one) gets hit by that down 1 to, like?????? Smoke IS JUMPING???? WHY AM I GETTING HIT BY THAT?????? 🤣
    I'll try to do that fake "mixup" (the low kick and the overhead) and i get flawless block 🙄 i cant believe hes that bad 🙄 they need to buff him.
    Specially in hes frame data making him more fast, and less punishable, like everyone else 🙄🙄🙄🙄
