Yes I am aware the shells were empty. They wouldn’t be laying out in the sun if they were full. I’m mot sure what you mean by not enough truck to control the load. Thank you! I sleep in the truck. I have a mattress in the back instead of a back seat. Hotels would be impossible to do everyday.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Are you away from home a ton? Maybe make a vid on your work schedule. Just an idea! Be safe out there!
@@polglazenathan28 I used to do a two weeks on and one week off schedule but since business has been slower I’ve been on the road fur 2 months at a time before taking a week off.
How many weeks out of the year are you on the road?
Do you spend more on gas, hauling shipping containers.
Yes containers are the worst on fuel mileage. I try to avoid containers. They are tall and wide which creates a lot of wind drag.
@Mr.AlexKogan That's what I thought. If it's a short distance, then it's probably worth it. I pickup and deliver, to the ports of LA. I see many hotshot guys, hauling containers. Thanks for answering my question.
@@jamariquai01 yeah short distance would be ok, depending what it pays. I think a lot of guys take containers as a last resort when there’s absolutely nothing else. Kinda like my situation in the video. I did it as part of a partial load. Either way I try to avoid them.
Gj Alex 👏
Thank you!
Gross then take away 70% for taxes, fuel, ifta, load boards/ dispatcher, factoring, tires, services, parts, parking, hotels, food, tools, insurance, registrations, flatbed securement and oxygen.
You are so incorrect. If you are only taking 30% home then you are doing something wrong.
Hi how you doing brother I have a question for you, what is the length from you truck and the trailer
I have never measured my truck and trailer total length.
love all the content, maybe add fuel costs with your numbers
Thank you! I’ll try to incorporate that into the videos.
I dunno if the food is interesting or not 😂🤣🤣😂. Well it made me hungry. Thats all i can say. Great content
Thank you! You should feed that belly then 😁
Hi hope you doing well
Could you tell me. What broker do you use ??
Hi. Doing well. Thank you. I don’t use any brokers. Do you mean dispatcher?
Cool video.
Thank you! 👍🏻
So you drive your truck on the resets ?
Yes. You’ll go crazy sitting at the truck stop the whole time.
Pro tip bind to each opposite side so you won’t have pull to one side of your trailer
You mean one binder up front on driver side and other on rear passenger side?
@@Mr.AlexKogan yes
@@jamesnelson5700 what’s the downside of having binders on one side?
@@Mr.AlexKogan make a turn too fast or a sharp lean, all the weight is pulling to one side and it will flip. You need counteract the weight
@@jamesnelson5700 I will research that a little more. Appreciate the input 👍🏻
Am requesting you train me this tracking Sir…Am in Kenya Sir.Thanks.
I am not a trainer. 🤷♂️
The name of the town is pronounced too-el- uh. I ran a project on that very depot 4 years ago and I could t pronounce it either 😅. I've been romanticizing the idea of hotshot for years so I'm going to check out more of you stuff. I've been looking for a clearcut answer on what is the upside of income for hotshot. I make great money now so it's tough to pull the trigger without knowing.
If you make great money, now, I would not get into hotshot because you’re gonna be away from home for a while.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Thanks for responding. My current job is full time away from home. I'm only home for about 5 or 6 weeks a year. My desire to do hotshot is wholely a desire to be my own boss, add more flexibility to my life, make at least the same money I make now and while continuing to travel.
@@poolfiend007 Well it’s honestly hard to give you an answer on what you can earn because trucking market is lien a rollercoaster. One week can be good and next week can be bad. Overall you can make good money but again I can’t say if it’s better than what you make now. You can definitely gross 5-6k a week for sure. Some weeks will be much better and some may be a bit less. Hope that gives you an idea.
Putting an empty container on with the doors to the front can eliminate the opportunity to fill it with revenue producing freight.
Who wound put extra freight inside a container. No shipper would load the container with freight. How would you even load it if most loading happens from the side of the trailer?
Loading docks, hand loaded, boats, motorcycles. The only thing loaded from the side is flatbed. There is a world of opportunities besides flatbed.@@Mr.AlexKogan
@@sallysue5918 said you are referring to picking it up additional loads on the way and putting them in the container then I have never heard of anyone doing that. That would be against rules.
Who's rules? There are no rules, laws or regulations against that. Unless the shipper of the container specifically prohibited it.
Do you ever scale your loads?
No, never really picked up anything to make me believe I’m overweight.
They don't use twist lock, omg😱😱😱😱
Do you get paid right after drop off and exactly what form of payment is it cash app ? Check ?
I get paid either next day or day after. I use a factoring company so it’s ACH deposit to the bank.
How much did it cost to start your hotshot service
Buddy Gonzalez wants to know
@@sidneygonzalez5419 if including truck and trailer down payments then it cost me over $50k

How much do you actually keep weekly?
At least 60 percent.
How did you stay on the road b4 go home
Are you asking how long I stay on the road before going home?
@Mr.AlexKogan yeah sorry I was typing and I didn't notice yeah how long out before heading home
@@edwinturcios2585 before market got really bad I was out 2-3 weeks and then back home for a week. Now I’m out 2 months before thinking of going home.
@Mr.AlexKogan wow ain't easy bro,
@@edwinturcios2585 you get used to it. As long as the weather isn’t bad it’s manageable. Winter time would be much harder.
Yikes 6 miles a gallon!
That was pretty bad 😬
No wayyy you ate all those donuts 😭😭 Quick little tip when you're in remote areas like that ask them to send you a dropped pin 📍 it will never steer you wrong. Oh and get some airbags on that thing already!
I did eat all of them 😁 I often do ask fir a pin drop when it’s a confusing area but not everyone knows how to do that. So my trailer and truck have airbags. Where else should I add them? lol
@@Mr.AlexKogan Oh ok nice! The way it was squatting in the beginning of the video and the on the video still pic made me think otherwise, guess they were just low on air! Are yours factory or did you go aftermarket?
@@David-td5po it may have been the angle that I recorded at. The air ride is factory so it self levels. A must have.
Have you ever came across a Tim Hortons coffee shop through the states. If so, make a video you drinking a Canadian Tim Hortons coffee
Yeah, I see them all over the place but surprisingly I’ve never been in one. Would like to try it for sure. 👍🏻
Those blue things weren’t exactly bombs, but kinda. They’re inert, just dead iron weights.
Yeah I mean they are empty shells. I think it said bomb on the shell though. I can’t remember.
How much did you net is the question
$1700 spent on fuel.
dude has good cholesterol genetics eating all these donuts
I hope I do because I’m not quitting donuts 😁
Isn,t that truck diesel and not gas.maybe you could say fuel mileage. Would sound better like you know the difference.
Hollow shells, not bombs. You wouldn't have gotten that close to them otherwise. I hate to be that guy, but you don't have near enough truck under you to control the load if something goes down in front of you. Especially in the mountains. I'm surprised DOT doesn't eat your groceries out there.
Yes I am aware the shells were empty. They wouldn’t be laying out in the sun if they were full. I’m mot sure what you mean by not enough truck to control the load. I drove with 15k on my trailer through Colorado mountains and not a single issue. My brakes don’t fade like semi trucks. They aren’t drums. Disk brakes on truck and trailer. Never had issues stopping down a mountain. Exhaust brake and disk brakes do a perfect job.
You are absolutely wrong. He has plenty of truck for that with room to spare.
How do u get fit? 😂
Proper eating and knowing how many calories you need. Also gym on my resets. 👍🏻😁 and donuts on the weekend.
👍🏼
Powered by donuts!!! There must be one hell of a lot of Creatine in those suckers.
Haha. There probably is 🤣🍩
Yup this is why rates are down. Because of this guy
As far as video at base i would have a belt clip on phone and just have it recording as you walk around on your waist……
I use GoPro to record. I have a heat mount but feel like when ai have it mounted to the hat, it gets better angles. I alternate though.
Careful what you record on a military base, you could get banned from doing business with them.
I didn’t really show anything. Google maps satellite view shows more than I did.
You are CDL or non CDL
CDL 👍🏻
Bro you need time stamps fr
Time stamps for what?
Did you seriously eat 6 donuts? My guy...
Yes 😁 and enjoyed every single one 👍🏻
must have been Crane IN. I picked up a rocket launcher there and delivered it to Detroit.
You guessed it. That’s exactly where I was. A rocket launcher. That sounds interesting. 👍🏻
You making as much as me an im a big rig owner operator something not making sense
became full video our Army ammo supply, you shouldn't have done it, people watch and can see what we use and that's not cool, you should edit that out
Bro come on. Let’s not get political here. lol. There are other ways enemies find out about US weapons and TH-cam is definitely not one of them. Not in a hotshot video 🤣
@Mr.AlexKogan bro, I understand that, let me ask you this. can you just go on a base and just video anything you want, at the ammo supply does it have public access. trust me the look at all things, when I was in it was crazy of all the things they look at to gain information
@@Mike-jf4kf Anything top secret would not be kept outside in the open. Especially weapons.
Can you honestly do this and make money considering the truck and trailer cost.
Most definitely.
People need to stop making videos about this thats why the industry is getting flooded and rates are foing low
My friend, the rates are definitely not getting lower because of these videos. That I can guarantee you. That’s like saying diesel is getting more expensive because of these videos.
How much weight can you put on your trailer to be legal
My particular trailer I can put about 15,500lb to not go over my trailer GVWR.
