How did you fix the frequent regen issue on your truck? I have the same truck and same problem right around the same mileage you had your issue with the regens
New DPF filter. You have to make sure you don’t idle your truck. That’ll kill your DPF. Also make sure your air filter is clean. Incorrect air/fuel mixture will cause it to fill up quicker.
@ not what I was hoping to hear but thank you for the response
Enjoyed the videos man
@@alvinmann7675 Glad you liked it 👍🏻
That was 2 awesome loads good fuel mileage
@@joshpiercey7187 Fuel mileage was definitely good. First load was ok. Didn’t pay great but not horrible coming out of Miami.
I'm stationing in Fort Cavazos.
I'm a retired aerospace machinist of 40 years I remember those four breaks a day vividly 9.0 am .25 min break 12.0 pm .5 hr lunch 2.0 pm .25 min break start work day 7.0 am to 3.5 pm 8.5 hr. work day those were the days. I've been out of the mix so long I don't know if that still exists, anyway 👍 to you
Happy new year Alex! Could you show a bit of your truck cabin? A small updated tour of how you're set up. The cell/ipad stands you use. Thank you for sharing all your hard work. Stay safe, stay blessed
@@Rapriority Thank you! Happy New Year! I do have a video on my channel of my truck setup but may make an updated one.
Would it be advantagious to dead head a few hours out of Florida & look for a load there?
From that far south,no
@@richardbarkley9909 That is a long way up from Miami but of course if I can find a load ahead of time and if it pays well, I would do it.
You should ALWAYS crank the jack down to the bottom, so it doesn't work its way down in transit and you don't damage the jack with all that pressure. Great videos.
@@geshaun1 Thank you! That may be a good idea.
YUP an aquarium I was there about 3 months ago right across the street from the Ford cafe in the hotel. This is a really nice area.
@@angelasanford4505 That area is amazing. So many restaurants and stores. Lots to do there.
@@Mr.AlexKogan YAH I am ot a fan of Florida but I was impressed with that area
Hey there Alex! Hope all is well. You were pretty close as I'm about 40 mins South of Lafayette. How's the truck running? Any updates to the equipment setup for 2025? Safe travels, bro. Keep up the awesome hotshot content. Seems you're the most consistent one right now.
@@lenpellerin Thank you! My next video will have an update on my current truck. Coming soon.
It's about time!!! I thought you had won the lottery...😂😅

Florida has a lot of manufacturing, actually.

@@jonathananderson9969 Yeah. Has some weight to it.
Please tell me how much you load maximum for this trailer?
@@АхметовТигрлан Maximum is 15,000 but I don’t like to do it.
How do you like this PJ trailer? I want to buy Big tex, I'm advised
@@АхметовТигрлан PJ is good. I like it. Big Tex is a step down from PJ. Don’t think Big Tex offers electric over hydraulic disc brakes, and air ride. Those two things are important to me and I definitely recommended it. Look at a PJ versus big Tex.
I also brought a cargo from Oklahoma here (These pipes) Virginia Beach then went swimming. Health and good luck to you, brother. I hope to see you at the truck stop someday
keep up the good work
I hauled one of those hot shot to Montana one time from Texas!! Dude no lie scared out of my pants the whole ride!!!
Waited for two weeks on a load to get me home 500 miles! My company would not take me off it nothing! Nothing worked. They got upset with me because I went over to a truckstop that had bathroom and showers so I’ve been sitting there for almost a week! And about another I think it was like on a Monday so it’s like two weeks in a day. Finally got a load going home.
Will you do a video on your trailer setup
What a Royal PIA that load home turned out to be!!
So heres more on MY trip to Springfield, Mo on my first OTR trip with Armellini Express Lines; Since I was new, and a recent driving school graduate I was made the second seat in the team operation for this trip. My co-driver was the normal second seat and his regular first seat driver was on vacation. My co-driver knew about the long wait at the Kraft Velveeta cheese plant as they had encountered it many times before. At about the 18 hour mark we dropped the trailer and bob-tailed to a Golden Coral and ate. Then after that he called his contact at Kraft and was told probably 6 more hours. He then suggested that we stop at a topless club on our way back and that I could drink beer and he would drive out when our load was ready. I had 2-3 beers but if I had it to do today I would absolutely not have.
Seeing this here on 1/6/25 so Happy New Year Alex to you and your family!!
Tks Alex-waiting for teh next one.
What Navigation MAP do you use?
we take cuts for holidays meanwhile others get PTO for holidays.
Worked on a few of those, mainly Genie lifts. Both build good machines. Actually the place i worked at we would do complete rebuilds, I mean totally disassembled. I was over 4 departments, hyd. rebuild, engine service, weld shop and we even made our own 6 ft. and 8 ft. platforms for the Genie machines since that was who I worked for.
@@Gden1957 wow! Sounds like a lot happening there.
Always enjoy watching you work Alex. Thank you
@@CHARLESROSENBAUM-z2q Thank you! Appreciate your support 👍🏻
I have a question for you. What’s the difference between the gooseneck and the fifth wheel because I have 40 foot trailer and I’m thinking about the fifth wheel thank you.
@@ashrafhassan7986 Fifth wheel is supposed to give you a more comfortable ride and easier hook up and unhook.
@ thank you for the response so quick I was wondering if you have a link to the fifth wheel you have I have the same truck and then I also have a gooseneck trailer 40 foot
Wow man that was quite the nightmare of a load to get rid off for sure.
@@joshpiercey7187 Definitely was. Wasted so much time.
Good job Sir!!! Happy New Year Bro!! Take Care!! Ken!! Oh!!✌🏿
@@kennethwilliams3877 Thanks Ken! Happy New Year!!!
We always fuel up at the Kum & Go across the street when we start our weeks off. Would have been cool to meet you.
@@barbaranichols802 It would have been nice. I always enjoy meeting my viewers on the road. Maybe one day we will run into each other 🙂
We move those booms daily and they suck ,one sensor goes bad and it’s an issue . With those it’s in the pedal ,also they don’t climb too well that’s why he loaded the way he did ,there is a climb switch to override, to load those Z booms use the jib only no boom also if you don’t wanna ruin a strap just strap thru the middle bar across the basket or chain thru that knuckle Parking, check down in your area(Miami) see if Richtein or Idealease or a truck rental place will charge you a monthly rate I pay $1000 a month for 6 trailers at AIM Lease I’m in my 2nd 5 year contract good luck and stay safe
@@steveco6891 Yeah the booms sound like a pain the the butt. As for parking I don’t really want to pay monthly in Miami. Way too expensive. I pay $60 monthly in St. Louis. Miami $1000 😬 I pay $40 a night when I go home or else just leave it in STL.
@ I forgot you’re OTR where we’re a tri-state company (I-25) corridor. My trailers are in my yard at night and weekends
I'll second that opinion-years ago-I worked at a rental place one summer-they had a bunch of very old J:LG's-what crap they were-especially on propane. I know you see them everywhere-but i hated teh things for that very reason.
@@glennjukes5581 JLG keeps Richie Bros very busy lol
Alex...maybe in a future video can you discuss your truck & trailer. Your truck would you stay with the 3500 or possibly move into a 5500 or another size. What miles are you doing a year & how much longer before changing trucks Same with trailer. What is the miles on the current trailer & would you move up to 16k axle or possibly different style ramps Always enjoy your balance of trucking mixed with healthy eating workout habits
With a sixteen k axel, you got to pay federal highway taxes
@troyopsahl228 yes. However I'd buy a used one. Air ride 16k new 50k or more. I see used ones in the 30s. Pros & cons either way
@@VolunteerMachineryllc I’ll Try to do a video about that someday.

Just wondering, why did you use a 4inch strap in the front and just a 2 inch in the rear? Why not another 4 inch? Or 2 inch for both?
@@73roken Not 100% which load you’re referring to but if was the truck bed then I can’t remember but I believe something about the 4” not fitting or lining up correctly.
@@Mr.AlexKoganI’m referring to 17:41 . It was just it didn’t fit properly then? I thought it was like a rule or something and that’s why you did it lol
We picked the same load last spring and took it to Arizona. Brokers don’t tell you anything about the loads. Big wind sail - at least that is what we called it. BE safe Alex. Happy New Year.
@@TheOutlawTransporters Yeah, they like to say legal load. lol. Thank you! Happy anew Year!!!
Why would that load have to be tarped? You did the smart thing by refusing the load. If you don’t feel that you can secure the load properly, don’t risk it. 👍
@@timburkhart424 I have no clue why something like that needs a tarp especially with sharp posts poking through the top. Guaranteed to tear your tarp.
Used to live in Johnson City tn
That’s another great video Alex and it’s nice to see that you use extra tie downs I noticed that other people don’t do that
@@joshpiercey7187 Thank you! I do like extra securement on loads that feel awkward to me.

@@glennjukes5581 It was a huge place. A lot going on there.
You mentioned Springfield, Mo; On MY first OTR run with Armellini Express Lines out of Palm City, Florida hauling fresh-cut flowers to florist wholesalers our last drop was IN Springfield.
