Would have took 5 mins with some normal cleaning paste. Those little dots come back after a little rain etc. Because you're not removing rust. You're removing rust stains from the chrome that leak through those pinholes.
Your solution makes a wonderful polish but I've noticed that all of the rust pets are still very present on that fender and I would suggest taking the fender material down to the level of those pits to penetrate all of the rust first. THEN use your polish concoction. I would use WD-50 as a lubricant an #0000 steel wool to get all of the rust off THEN buff your solution into the fender. All rust pits would be gone AND you'd get a wonderful mirror shine.
Ichiban Moto Mad Scientist.....We need more of you on TH-cam. I tried this stuff on my friend's $50,000 dollar Harley & it works great, he was delighted with the results.

Sift the ashes through a big screen sieve to get a fine consistent powder from your ashes. I have spent many hours polishing aluminum and bought the expensive paste, and then tried wood ashes, trust me. Ashes all the way. Maybe it would work for chrome too?

Before trying this on my 1973 mercedes chrome bumpers i need to know few things: 1. Doesn't abrasive particles come loose (from the sandpaper) when you make aluminium powder? if so - it would scratch the surface more.. 2. How long does this deliciousness last? I mean the glossiness :) because the rusted spots are still naked 3. Any ideas how to preserve parts from further rust? Polish with some vax? BTW i like your sence of humor, a lot! :D

No crazy toxic chemicals!!!!
Can it be done for exhaust pipe that is not chrome? My factory standard exhaust pipe got a surface rust. It used to be black though. I'm affraid it'll weaken the pipe
@@glowiever im not sure how it will do. Might mess up paint surface. Chrome is easily scratchable so i would think the tinfoil is a mild abrasive.
Try small area underneath.
Mr ItchyBum, hot tip: spin the pad in reverse.Speeds up the removal.I can recommend just one extra ingredient for your concoction/potion.Works like a bomb.Literally.
I made some of that too in another vid.
awesome! I'm gonna try that! do you think this can get rid of these tiny points on the chrom surface?
Funny as hell as is the norm. I can bet it never gets old reading comments people share that absolutely have no clue. I have learned lately there are too many dense humans in this country, and the world. 73 million in the U.S. alone. I often wonder how much $ you have generated when folks go buy supplies. Keep up the good work!
Dude is a treasure trove of great info!
I liked how the clean dry rag was filthy 😀
Nice results with your drill wonder if better results with nowadays power drill
Bar keepers friend and or a super fine wire wool also works a treat as does autosol.
Before trying this on my 1973 mercedes chrome bumpers i need to know few things:
1. Doesn't abrasive particles come loose (from the sandpaper) when you make aluminium powder? if so - it would scratch the surface more..
2. How long does this deliciousness last? I mean the glossiness :) because the rusted spots are still naked
3. Any ideas how to preserve parts from further rust? Polish with some vax?
BTW i like your sence of humor, a lot! :D
+Evaldas Virketis I use diamond paper, not sand paper, so particles do not come off. You can use some vax on the parts after cleaning and polishing of there are bare pits left as in the example :)
