Realizing that it is a panic attack, telling myself that I'm ok, I meditate and do breathing exercises. I have good care providers I can talk to if I need to.
I tend to hyperventilate and feel like I'm suffocating during sleep. One time I was on a cave tour and we were up somewhat high and I felt dizzy. So I just focused on a spot in the distance until we left the area. It really helped as a distraction. Thanks for your wonderful videos💜
@@andrewmajor-strongerminds Yes indeed. I've done lots of group therapy, individual therapy with CBT & DBT and lots of TH-cam videos like yours to learn to cope.
I can see how this technique could be really helpful. I specifically have panic attacks whist driving on the freeway or in construction or traffic. I’m not sure how this method can be adapted for when one is driving at highway speeds. Do you have any tips? Also, I have been doing your self hypnosis meditation for anxiety and panic for the last few weeks and it’s been helpful- thank you!
Thank you! it's hard to change those intuitive reactions of resistance during fight of flight, but I guess it's a practice I must practice often. I always get caught up in the content of my anxious thinking - usually about the symptoms i'm experiencing, I fear fear itself and how it makes me feel and the possibility of feeling it again. I'll work towards showing my brain with acceptance that it doesn't have to protect me from my own anxiety. Also, AWESOME HAIR! :D
Thanks a million Doctor for your professional , caring and perfectly selected words to help people. Your voice , space & presentation forces me to be calm. God bless you for your care and kindness.
All agreed with the points made. But what I do when the palpitations start, I put a bag of frozen food over my face, that quickly slows everything down after a bout a minute or so.
Mine start as soon as I wake up (maybe knowing ive got another day of unrelentless battle with my anxiety) so how can I identify what the triggers are?
As soon as you feeling it say inside i accept this feeling, these are just symptoms of anxiety and are not here to harm me. Acceptance is the key. Do it everyday. Trust me it will help.
My symptoms are up and down, I felt like my old self yesterday. As soon as I woke this morning, I felt the opposite - back to anxiety like I've taken backwards step back to panic attacks. It's extremely disheartening 😢
My BLood pressure get ridiculous High like 170/ 88 and Resting Heart rate 125 I feel I’m having a heart attack or stroke or something. It’s horrible. Last 4 nights only about 4 hours to sleep: this panic stuff is All day it does not last 5 15 min. I already went to the doctor took out blood waiting for results not sure what else to do??
Bp fluctuates during panic attack, look at Andrew's video on panic and other videos he has to calm your body an you notice triggers. Really helps. Buy a bp kit and monitor your bp helps to with white coat syndrome syndrome
I have a question I just found your videos, I have white coat syndrome and it’s bad, is there one of your videos that I could listen to hypnosis that could help me overcome that? Thank you
Welcome and thanks for watching. 😀 my guided hypnosis for relieving anxiety is a good one for creating a good foundation for change and calming your nervous system , this all helps in terms of coping and willingness to challenge yourself in these situations. 👍
Lol...passing in a few minutes? I wish..I've yet to have a panic attack last less than over a hour, most are closer to 2 hours, then 3 to 4 days of recovery. When you have 4 to 6 of them in a 24 hour period, day after day ...life becomes trying to not die between each attack.
What strategies or coping mechanisms have you tried in the past to alleviate and / or overcome your panic and anxiety?

What about when you wake up in a panic attack and don’t know if you had a dream or not?
