He's solving two environmental problems with one solution: growing millet over rice and replacing plastic with edible cutlery. That is an environmental badass.

@@leepialong U r Miss informed. Fossil Fuel needed to make plastic spoons is 100 times more than that required to make edible spoons. Recycling Plastic spoon is needed becoz they are NOT biodegradable. Edible spoons are . Biogdegradable is million times better than recycling

It's important to understand how the situation with this entrepreneur has changed in the past ~3 years. I just found out about his invention, got very excited, then looked him up online. Apparently, his company has taken their crowdfunding money and misappropriated it. (Read the Wikipedia page on his company.) Apparently, his funders are suing him now. Very sad to see this.

Actually the info is slightly wrong, he actually took a business loan to setup the factory by mortgaging his property which was worth 45lakhs but recorded it as 2.5Cr instead to get the loan. He wasn't able to pay back the loan and was arrested for inflating the price of the mortgaged asset.

Superb innovative idea of edible cutlery made out of millets, awesome.
I am staying in Bangalore, I am not sure whether this product is available in Bangalore apart from Hyderabad.
Definitely people will be interested in marketing your products to Bangalore and other cities/ countries.
I can suggest largest industry in India like railways and airlines can be make use of your products. Slowly it can be interduced to other IT sectors, restaurants, hospitals, midday meals, parties & functions.
It is your long standing achievements in research taking in to account of pros & cons.
The practice of using an alternative products of edible spoons are very much welcome.
    Brilliant idea.

I saw him all over the news at the time, but now that it's been 5 years I still see plastic one-use cutlery all over the place. So I wanted to dive into a "where is he now?". Sadly, it seems a lot of people ordered his kickstarter but did not receive the goods and complained about being scammed, and also his website is down. I don't know if he was truly a scammer, or it was a good idea but did not make sense as a business and he went under. It's sad either way that this idea wasn't fully realized.

Very impressed with the good thought n good initive, but still lots of people are not concerned about environment and not minimising the plastic usage. I get shocked when I read a plastic cup will take 500! Years to decompose and pathetic situation of mariane animals due to plastic. I think individual people should come forward like you atleast by stopping the plastic usage. Atleast we should minimise one time use and throw plastic.

I wouldn't put all that effort and faith into edible cutlery only. There is room on the market for it but it's quite limited and there is likelyhood of a strong competition being developed. I would focus more on the nutrition and millet accustomation applications. Just start making and selling millet bread and biscuits as a nutricious and eco friendly addition to your diet and slowly broaden products. That way your business won't be that dependant on one market and it won't be that much of an issue if a somewhat more appiling replacement comes up.
