No. according to these Musical Prodigy's They did not know how to do it right. They just sang. There was no "emotion"..... Sure. PTX's body language alone in this video shows more emotion than the reactors misrepresentation of it . They just are really good singers. That is ALL.

@@ShinyElfriend They said that PTX was just singing the lyrics. Not interpreting them as they were meant to be. Of course it could not be that they were not getting the interpretation. Not possible. I disagreed also. In case I was unclear......
I have to totally disagree with you, their arrangement and performance enhanced the lyrics. Just one example, when Kirstie sang the part "my words, like silent raindrops fell, and echoed in the wells of silence", the others echoed "words...words....words" while Kirsty did a downward vocal run, her words falling into the "well". If that isn't drawing you to pay attention to the lyrics, then what is? Thanks for the honest analysis. PTX is an excellent a capella group. The injection of hope was good touch. They sing beautifully. But... it sounded like PTX was showcasing their singing abilities and not the song itself. This is an emotional song with a message, and PTX didn't tell the story. I agree with Ogre and Jerzey. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. (Now I'm really curious about Disturbed's version!l
If you'd like to see a showcasing of Matt, please do a reaction to their cover of You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch. He's Grinch! It's FABULOUS! Can't wait for the other Sounds of Silence. Thanks
The thing about this versionm.. The Original gave you a feeling of reflection on the world.. Disturbs was a to be Darker look at the same song.. This was a Celebration of what could be if you paid attention to the words
IMHO PTX version without music is full of emotion, the differing voices coupled with the arrangement can not be beat even by someone with a full orchestra behind them - They can and do sing this live and it is awesome -- We will have to agree to disagree on this one --
I think I understand what you're talking about when saying that some of the other pieces gave more to the lyrics. I kind of feel that same way about the disturbed version, people talk about how awesome it was and how it was so good and when I listened to it I just didn't see it. Doesn't mean it's not a good cover I just wasn't their audience. With PTX version I think what I focused most on was Kevin Olusola. When the drums came in that's when I felt it was the more about the lyrics than the performance, but then again I love me some drums or bass. After listening to some of the other pieces I realize that PTX doesn't use their dynamics as much as some of the other artists to help illustrate the simplicity of silence. that might have been why it wasn't as satisfying as some of the others.
One thing to keep in mind is the age differences between the different performers, as different age/generations will interpret the lyrics differently. For those that are listening, there really isn't a right or wrong answer as to which is better. It's more about what appeals to your ear and, in far more ways than you may realize, what your life experiences have been in the past, what your life is like in the present, and what you see for your life in the future. In my opinion, that was/is the beauty of the Folk Rock genre. While interpretaions may differ from person to person, the relevance of that interpretation to each of us is equally important. For PTX, they are all younger, all raised in families where religious beliefs are an important factor, all believing in love & acceptance of who and what you are, and that positive things can and will emerge from even the darkest negatives that life can throw at you, IF you let it.
To see Matt & Kevin play off each other and the ultimate Matt forgetting he's the bass (on the very last note) check out "Joyful Joyful" Live from the Evergreen Experience. Matt is also featured in "Your A Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
I lite the PTX version the most because it sounds hopeful, and not all doom and gloom. But then I don't like the Simon and Garfunel it sounds too hokey-pokey, for my taste. I like the hopeful aspect in anything really. A lot of people have said, S&G was a warning, Disturbed, was anger because the warning wasn't heeded, and PTX is hope for the future. But everyone is different, that's why I don't agree with ranking performers.
I as a Pentaholic really appreciate your honest opinion. I'm really glad you all thought it was beautiful and praised their talent, though you didn't like their performance of it as much. For me, I disagree with your opinion on the performance, but I still appreciate your honest opinion nonetheless lol. Also, I might get smacked by my fellow Pentaholics for this, but I VERY slightly prefer Disturbed's version as I adore David Draiman's voice so so much. But PTX's is a very very close second.
Me too. I'm a 10-year Pentaholic, with multiple live concerts and two PentaCons in my record, and I love virtually everything Pentatonix has ever done, but this one is not my favorite. It's very, very good--but for me, "the best" is still going to be the OG. (Yes, I usually consider PTX versions to be "upgrades," but not this time.) And I watch reaction videos PRECISELY because I want to know what other people think!
Hi I just subscribed because I saw your PTX reactions 😊. Matt has a phenomenal range! Please react to “New Rules X Are You That Somebody”. Matt and Kevin are insane and of course they’re all awesome. You will understand Matt’s huge range 🎵🎤♥️
The red shirt guy is Geoff Castelluci. Yes, he has an amazing range. I think Matt has the smoothest, most 'velvety' bass voice of the big three, but not the lowest. Geoff Castelluci and Tim Faust are neck and neck for the low notes. Avi is close behind. Interesting 4-way reaction.
If I remember correctly, the red shirt guy they referenced was Eric Holloway, otherwise known as "ThatBassVoice," on TH-cam. He was wearing a red shirt in a rendition of the hoist the colors, by the bass singers of tiktok
Curious.. Did you guys check out Geoff Castellucci's version? It's different. Bingeing your channel right now, catching up on vids I somehow missed. Love to you all. ❤
I’m hoping you give The Fox and the Hound featuring Adam Chance from Home Free a listen for this comparison of Sounds of Silence. It’s a very beautiful and simple version.
You mentioned the presentation distracted from the lyrics but I thought that in the Hollens & Faust Episode 2 review - the video presentation and the reverbs really distracted. Yes, 36 layers is impressive but the ability of Pentatonix to do the songs live with the same song seems more impressive.
Ogre here. Other commenters have helped me figure out what my real problem may be. This version is sung with hope and I don't think that hope fits the lyrics or the original intent of the song. So the presentation wasn't so much the problem as the tone. I didn't recognize that at the time.
A lot more people get Matt-slapped than Mitch-slapped in this video - Matt's baritone and that final drop really surprise people! I'm curious to know if you're going to include Geoff Castellucci's version of Sound of Silence.
@shinyelfriend down below reference what I've heard before. S&G's version is a warning, Disturb's fatalistic (though I'm not sure fatal is the right word, maybe dark?), and Pentatonix's some have said, has a ring of hope to it. Listen to Kirsten's part, she is pleading, almost like Jesus to the masses, "Come with me". I don't know, just one guys opinion. And yes, I'm a Pentaholic for life.
Detracting from the lyrics? I don't think so. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I've listened to this song and paid attention to what was being said. They literally drew me into the song. WOW, what are you guys' hearing? lol
Music is subjective. What it does for you it did not do for Ogre. That's ok, though. We can agree to disagree about that point while still both agreeing that Pentatonix are a phenomenal a cappella group!
Not sure what happened with the audio settings between 3:29 and 3:31 but the audio became very crisp and clear like I was listening to video myself and not through your reaction coverage. If you know what happened, do that more often, it was great. Edit: You seem to know what the setting is! This makes your videos so much nicer, I love this new development!
At around 9:30- “That’s gotta be one of the best musical performances I’ve ever seen.” I’m sorry… SEEN?? We’re talking Music here, bud. It’s filed under the Genus/ Species of AUDIO. Look it up.
Not at all. You seem to have a bigger problem with our free speech than we do with people not agreeing with our opinion. You've been crying like a baby all over the messages, today. You've got at least six comments whining about our opinions. We have to monitor this video because it's our product. What's your reason for letting us live in your head, rent free?
I feel S&G = A warning Disturbed = You didn't listen now look what happened PTX = It's ok there is still hope So I feel there are 3 different songs here.
Although I discovered Pentatonix and a lot of their songs, I did not instantly like their version. I thought maybe it was just their gungho singing of it. But Ogre hit the mark. Maybe if I first heard it before watching the video, I would have liked it.
For an A Capella presentation, I think you missed the artistry and arrangement on the lyrics. If you compare it with a musical(instrumental) presentation, you guys have missed the whole point of this interpretation. Pentatonix are on their own league. No comparison could ever be realistic. I heard them sing it live. No voice manipulation, modulation or mixing. Sometimes they even sound better live. (BTW) Peter Hollens, Tim Faust version was heavily manipulated.) Just saying...
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast is also the arrangement. It mirrors the lyric. One of you guys pointed to that when he realized something Kirsty did on her part that he had not noticed before. "Raindrops fell" and their voices bringing that image in as they went down the note's scale. And like that are plenty more examples of how they sing certain verses. This was very well thought out and meticulously put together.
My wife prefers Distrubed's version. I love PTX version. it is a subjective choice. My wife love the more gritty version from Distrubed. I like the more upbeat with a glimmer of hope that PTX gives it. I prefer PTX version even over Geoff Castelucci's cover. Keep up the good work.
You will get Mitch slapped in the following songs.....can you feel the love from lion king, Mary did you know, aha star vista, gold, twelve days of Christmas
Matt is amazing and has been part of PTX for about 7 years now! He is the Bass and a lot of times helps Kevin with 'sounds' as does the rest of the group. He has a very expansive range just like all of the members ... Ok Ogre ... this one is for you! I'm not sure you are really ready, but here it is ... one of the best 'Mitch Slaps' I have felt (very, very young PTX and I think Mitch was on Red Bull) It's called: Pentatonics - Aha Live Singapore, The Star Vista: th-cam.com/video/aT2Nm4fYmI4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=K3kRUlu-K4B6b6ZY It's a crazy performance that was captured on someone's cell phone so the quality is not wonderful and the focus is mainly on Mitch ... BUT ... we Pentaholics are very grateful to the person who recorded this! Avi goes so deep he buzzes the microphone and Mitch ... OMG Mitch! LOL Scott and Kirstie are on stage and Kevin is also there, although you won't see him, but you can hear him - So, I will be very interested to watch your expressions during that song! I will be watching, and thanks for your honest opinions of what you are viewing!! We 'all' have different experiences when we listen to PTX therefore we are going to have different opinions and that is as it should be! You are all 4 very much appreciated! Now, when you get into the holiday spirit, listen to The Prayer (it's the grown up PTX) and it's brilliant! They also just came out with an original for Christmas this year call Please Santa Please - a really upbeat song that just makes you happy!!
It's okay to give your opinions... that IS the point, isn't it? While I love this version, it is different from the others. Myself...I am partial to the original. That's just my preference. I love Disturbed's version as well... variations of interpretation and everyone will have their own preference...and thank goodness for that.
Thank you for that! Ogre was not trying to make his opinion the be all end all opinion. He was just expressing his opinion. We're glad that you see it that way!
Allow me to comment on a point of confusion. I bought the original "Sounds of Silence" vinyl album back in 1966 when it first came out. The title of the ALBUM is "Sounds of Silence," but the title of the SONG is "The Sound of Silence." Perhaps due to confusion or a silly decision by the record label, the single was originally released as "The Sounds of Silence," but Paul Simon has repeatedly insisted that the song title is "The Sound of Silence." In the lyrics, whenever the phrase appears, it is singular--sound of silence--until the very last phrase of the song, which is, "and whispered in the sounds of silence." So taking everything together, there's enough evidence on each side of the argument to indicate that we maybe shouldn't judge anyone too harshly for having a different opinion.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast I actually meant that part ("harsh judgment") in a more general way, because of the way some of my fellow Pentaholics reacted to your stating an opinion that wasn't 100% absolutely wildly favorable toward this particular performance by PTX. I do think I remember a couple of annoyed growls from you fellas about the way "nobody gets it right," but it's all part of the fun. We shouldn't watch reactioin videos if we can't bear to have reactors react.
While I enjoy this version, especially Scott opening in such a low register, I tend to still prefer Disturbeds version. I've never been able to pin down why, but it might well be that as several people have pointed out the PTX version is more hopeful, while generally I'm expecting it to be far more angry and bleak perhaps, still not sure. That doesn't detract from showcasing great individual talent, beautiful harmony's, reinforcing each other and sections where multiple people blend their voices so skilfully that its difficult to pick them apart.
Songs and they style at which they are sung are different. When it comes to peoples opinions reactions will be different. So although I was moved to tears the first time I heard this version and others are like eehh its ok. Then the person who was eehh on this one is moved to tears on another version which make me go eehh. Matt brings his own flavor to the group. Avi had something different that Matt can't do. If I had to choose I would choose Avi over Matt but I love Matt and they have great songs produced since he came along. I love Avi's solo music so its not all bad. We probably wouldn't have that had he stuck with PTX.
However, there are other things Matt can do that Avi can’t. That’s very apparent when you see them in concert. I see it as a wash. They are very different and talented singers. I think it comes down to personal preference. I think Matt, in my personal opinion, fits in better with Pentatonix’s newer music. No disrespect to Avi as he is a great artist.
@@dwfarr I agree with all of what you said. They each have skills the other doesn't. PTX evolved/changed to fit Matt and it works. I personally would choose Avi over Matt but not if it meant no Avi solo career. It's probably best that it happened the way it did. We still get great PTX music and we get Avi's solo music which I love. The one negative I have of Matt. I heard him do Hallelujah live and I did not like it. But as far as I can remember that is the one and only thing I have not liked from him. I'm trying real hard to not be a troll hear and just expressing opinion. I do think Matt is fantastic. I think we can both agree on that.
Kevin is such a good beat boxer it makes it feel like PTX is cheating. To be clear I know they are not cheating I am a Pentaholic through and through. It's just that the others don't stand a chance when you have a Kevin in the group...............except Disturbed, they have a chance.
I agree. They just can't make a lot of people feel things that a song this powerful should make you feel. Their voices are beautiful but their videos don't enhance anything.
I don't know why really, but I can't get into this version. Pentatonix harmonize very well, but something is just missing. It was good, but Disturbed did it better imo. Question. Is Tom Ball's version on your list for this?
Please don’t call it a Kirstin clap! She has enough confusion about her name as it is. I do feel she’s the break-out voice in this song, though, with Matt and Scott close behind. Regrettably, not every song has a Mitch slap. One of their most recent releases is I Rise, a real big, full anthem. You may want to put that one on your list. I love that you have multiple opinions on the panel, all of them valid and true. Music is such a personal experience, after all. Enjoyed it, as always. Peace …
OMG It's just Pentatonix not The Pentatonix, get it right please. Having not listened to your other reactions to this song. I think you missed that this version is giving hope when the Disturbed version is giving a forlorn texture, and the original is giving desperation.
In fairness, I've seen others (both reactors as well as people in the industry, interviewers, etc) make that same error with the group's name. But yes, they should drop the "The" from the video title.
Ogre made a valid point which kind of made me rethink what I was going to say. Pentatonix are freaking incredible with their version. But as Ogre says the song loses it's meaning. They are just singing words without depth of meaning. They do a great job but I felt no emotional connection. For me it was going to come down to Pentatonix and Disturbed. Unless there's a version I haven't heard out there.
I understand the thought that they don't have depth, because of the production values. I disagree though. I feel like each of them captured the emotion of their verse in their own particular way. Mitch was a quieter, hopeful sound. Matt's was slightly angry. Kirstie was frustrated and somewhat scolding. Scott was intense and warm.
I will predict that you guys will like Disturbed version better. There is no need to justify and find reason not to like this version. You like what you like, you are one negative opinion out of millions of positive opinions.
My favorite version of this is by Disturbed hans down but…only their version they did on the Conan show. I have never felt this song in my soul like David sings it
I really disagree with you, the performance didn't take away from the lyrics. The performance enhanced the lyrics but that's my opinion as someone who doesn't like any other version of this song.
While all of these singers are very talented, I find their renditions are usually too "look what we can do" for me. They sing beautifully, but their interpretations are lacking. Waiting to see who else you will showcase. I think Sounds of Silence is the S & G album title, while the song is Sound of Silence. It is very confusing.
I'm not sure. The last time they say the name of the song in the actual song they pluralize sound. Now I'm gonna go see if I still have my old cassette tape. Your explanation has be seriously questioning myself. LOL
So near as I can tell, S&G always maintained that it was sound even though the album has the song listed as sounds. S&G blame the studio. When they whisper it at the end of the song it is "sounds." At this point I guess there's no wrong answer. It seems as though those that cover it go with the singular that Paul said was the correct way. That was unsatisfying. I was hoping for a more definitive answer.
The lyrics to the song are not optimistic or hopeful in any way and the version Disturbed did was perhaps much more true to the lyrics. This version is much more hopeful which is a very different take on the song and also feels very out of sync with the lyrics. I love Pentatonix and recognize their enormous talent, however, this version, while being fabulous, is not the best one out there. And that's okay. A lot of their covers are the best versions of those songs.
I actually liked it better with my eyes closed. I can't begin to tell you why. But even so, this is not my favorite version. Something is missing. Again - no idea what it is. And while they do get more expressive (louder/more harmonies), they seem to go up and just stay there, with no nuances once they get there.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast It occurred to me that this was a performance. It was not a feeling - does that make any sense? Like the difference between Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood singing How Great Thou Art - a magnificent performance, yes, but Home Free's version is so much more a prayer. PTX often feels (to me) like they are performing, not feeling.

But... it sounded like PTX was showcasing their singing abilities and not the song itself. This is an emotional song with a message, and PTX didn't tell the story. I agree with Ogre and Jerzey. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. (Now I'm really curious about Disturbed's version!l
I'm a hard core Pentaholic but for me Disturbed's version is THE BEST! Can't wait either.
Love these guys
Geoff Castellucci's version is a sad take on this song. Beautiful with low, low bass.
Sad yes, almost mournful, til things pick up.
If you'd like to see a showcasing of Matt, please do a reaction to their cover of You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch. He's Grinch! It's FABULOUS! Can't wait for the other Sounds of Silence. Thanks
We'll definitely check it out!
I also think that seeing them sing it goes a long way to discovering new asects as well.
The thing about this versionm.. The Original gave you a feeling of reflection on the world.. Disturbs was a to be Darker look at the same song.. This was a Celebration of what could be if you paid attention to the words
❤
IMHO PTX version without music is full of emotion, the differing voices coupled with the arrangement can not be beat even by someone with a full orchestra behind them - They can and do sing this live and it is awesome -- We will have to agree to disagree on this one --
That's what is awesome about music. It's all subjective
I want to hear these reaction guys do a barbershop quartet of "Man of Constant Sorrows."
Why would you want that? We'd be terrible!
Adam Chance with the Hound and the Fox, Peter Hollens with Tim Foust, and Dan Vasc all did Sound of Silence.
We reacted to the one with Tom and Peter as part of this.
Another reactor is doing reactions to Sound of Silence so forgot who has done what. I'm old, can't help it!
Damn Jersey !!! WOW!!!!!!
I’d be interested in hearing you four guys perform this song .
We don't think we'd do well at all. Why would you want to hear us.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast To level the playing field so to speak.
In what way? We reacted to a song. How do our opinions on it need a performance from us to even things up?
On Simon and Garfunkel's Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. is the cd I have of theirs says Sound of Silence.
Well said
Good point. There's lots of life experiences that color our lives, and our musical interpretations.
I just love this comment -
Should check out Pentatonix “Imagine “🌺
To see Matt & Kevin play off each other and the ultimate Matt forgetting he's the bass (on the very last note) check out "Joyful Joyful" Live from the Evergreen Experience. Matt is also featured in "Your A Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
We'll definitely check it out.
Did you see that when Matt was singing his solo, Scott was singing the base.
Yes! So good!
Is Geoff Castellucci’s version coming up too?
This weekend
Thank you for this!
I prefer Draiman's version too. Hard core Pentaholic here.
Thanks for subbing! Added!
Recommend their cover of The Prayer.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Ah HA! I've seen that, and I know exactly what you are describing! Thanks for the correction!
They are so amazing. Please please react to "Joyful Joyful" Live from the evergreen experience. It is my favorite live video from them.
Curious.. Did you guys check out Geoff Castellucci's version? It's different. Bingeing your channel right now, catching up on vids I somehow missed. Love to you all. ❤
We'll be dropping our reaction to Geoff's, this weekend
Top three:
1. PTX
2. S&G
3. PH & TF
Just my opinion of course. I will update again when the next video comes out.
WALL OF SOUND.
I’m hoping you give The Fox and the Hound featuring Adam Chance from Home Free a listen for this comparison of Sounds of Silence. It’s a very beautiful and simple version.
If you want to hear Kevin sing more listen to the cover of “Imagine” and Amazing Grace/ My Chains Are Gone.
Got to do disturbed sound of silence... Their version is #1..
A lot more people get Matt-slapped than Mitch-slapped in this video - Matt's baritone and that final drop really surprise people!
I'm curious to know if you're going to include Geoff Castellucci's version of Sound of Silence.
I would think they will. It’s amazing.
It's coming this weekend.
Just Pentatonix, not the Pentatonix.
^^^this
Detracting from the lyrics? I don't think so. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I've listened to this song and paid attention to what was being said. They literally drew me into the song. WOW, what are you guys' hearing? lol
Music is subjective. What it does for you it did not do for Ogre. That's ok, though. We can agree to disagree about that point while still both agreeing that Pentatonix are a phenomenal a cappella group!
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Absolutely, I was just surprised, but you are right. To each his own.🧡
Diffrent but🥁💥👂🤔 not bad🙂
Not sure what happened with the audio settings between 3:29 and 3:31 but the audio became very crisp and clear like I was listening to video myself and not through your reaction coverage. If you know what happened, do that more often, it was great.
Edit: You seem to know what the setting is! This makes your videos so much nicer, I love this new development!
I disagree… there is not a better version. Once PTX does it they own it IMO
At around 9:30- “That’s gotta be one of the best musical performances I’ve ever seen.”
I’m sorry… SEEN?? We’re talking Music here, bud. It’s filed under the Genus/ Species of AUDIO. Look it up.
Thanks for the view!
We're sorry you missed the video that accompanied the music. If you had seen it we think you would have liked it.
I admire your willingness to react honestly to this, knowing that anything less than total praise of perfection will bring on the wrath of their fans.
It's already begun...
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Free speech is a bitch. Isn't it?
Not at all. You seem to have a bigger problem with our free speech than we do with people not agreeing with our opinion. You've been crying like a baby all over the messages, today. You've got at least six comments whining about our opinions. We have to monitor this video because it's our product. What's your reason for letting us live in your head, rent free?
I feel
S&G = A warning
Disturbed = You didn't listen now look what happened
PTX = It's ok there is still hope
So I feel there are 3 different songs here.
We were saying the artistry took away from the lyrics. We praised the artistry, though.
I am a Pentaholic and I like the Disturbed version best.
Thank you!
I think Paul Simon liked PTX version. I might be wrong but I've seen others comment that.
Thank you! We will check that one out! Thanks for being understanding, as well!
Todd Hoffman from Gold Rush does a more meaningful version 🌺❤️🌺
No harsh judgment applied, here. Ogre just noticed it while he was preparing for this and didn't understand why. Thank you for clarifying.
13:29 Boot....... No
Lol
Hif this is a battle I would like to throw someone into the ring and that person would be Thedooo and his version of sound of silence
Please react to their cover of Imagine.
On the list
While I enjoy this version, especially Scott opening in such a low register, I tend to still prefer Disturbeds version. I've never been able to pin down why, but it might well be that as several people have pointed out the PTX version is more hopeful, while generally I'm expecting it to be far more angry and bleak perhaps, still not sure.
That doesn't detract from showcasing great individual talent, beautiful harmony's, reinforcing each other and sections where multiple people blend their voices so skilfully that its difficult to pick them apart.
We definitely wouldn't want to pick them apart. Their performance was magnificent, as usual. It's just not what a couple of us expect from this song.
I prefer Disturbed's version more too. I feel it fits my mood about things these days much better.
Matt is not a natural bass, he has worked hard to get there but he is a natural baritone.
@@Fairburne69 Well said. 👏
Why don't Bootchar and Jerzey react more?
When the mood strikes them they react more. Just the nature of the two of them
Kevin is such a good beat boxer it makes it feel like PTX is cheating. To be clear I know they are not cheating I am a Pentaholic through and through. It's just that the others don't stand a chance when you have a Kevin in the group...............except Disturbed, they have a chance.
Please react to imagine, you will see how Kevin is a good singer
It is definitely on the list!
Good version but imo not the best. I was waiting to hear more bass
We're with you on that, Grandma. Unfortunately, Tom's is not on the list.
so it's not just me, then, that finds something lacking in it?
Not just you, Nancy.
@@nancyholter5646 nope, not just you 😊
Please don’t call it a Kirstin clap! Peace …
Thank you!
@@neocelestia I agree but when you look at the video it doesn't have The in the name and I pull everyone up for it.
No, it doesnt make sense. Video production is very important and, have never heard anything better!
Have you listened to Geoff Castellucci's cover? It's amazing. He combines the three versions.
Our reaction to that one comes out this weekend
Jerzey... No. I know what you meant. But no.
Lol
I will predict that you guys will like Disturbed version better. There is no need to justify and find reason not to like this version. You like what you like, you are one negative opinion out of millions of positive opinions.
My favorite version of this is by Disturbed hans down but…only their version they did on the Conan show. I have never felt this song in my soul like David sings it
I didn’t realize how many different groups and artists covered this song.
I really disagree with you, the performance didn't take away from the lyrics. The performance enhanced the lyrics but that's my opinion as someone who doesn't like any other version of this song.
Kind of nitpicking.
LOL
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Waiting on the edge of my seat for your research results.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Life is often that way. Thanks for the research.
Thank you! That puts a finer point on what was Ogre's problem.
I actually liked it better with my eyes closed. I can't begin to tell you why. But even so, this is not my favorite version. Something is missing. Again - no idea what it is. And while they do get more expressive (louder/more harmonies), they seem to go up and just stay there, with no nuances once they get there.
I think that's what Ogre may have had a problem with, too.
Makes complete sense
Ridiculous comment about taking away from lyrics. It's a positive bent. Duh.
Which takes away from the original intent of the lyrics on Ogre's opinion. Music is a subjective experience.
