We fail to realize Anakin was 9 years old in Phantom Menace and Padme was 14. Both of fhem were far more intelligent for their age and one was force sensitive. Leia is force sensitive. So for her to act the way she does isn't abnormal her parents were early bloomers themselves.
My exact point, Anakin was a freaking genius and if you guys read the padme book padme herself was extremely intelligent and mature. Now combine the two along with Leia growing yp in a wealthy high class highly intelligent family and you got a little genius
Lucasfilm really need to take some notes from Logan and the Wrestler for this show. It felt way too similar to what we already have in Star Wars. Kid Leia has a major Jake Lloyd vibes.
To be fair though, Logan also had a little girl that he was trying to protect LOL. But yes, focus on the more interesting aspects of Obi Wan like his seclusion and guilt.

I'm pretty sure the first girl to appear in the opening scene of the first episode is Reva. It makes sense considering there's a lot behind her character that we haven't seen in the two episodes. Kenobi and Vader will probably have an aggressive fight and then they're going to reconcile when they find out that their dead moms had the same name. Then they'll have to join forces to defeat Reva before she destroys the galaxy with her ridiculously aggressive voice. This show is fire!

Im gonna give you an argument as to why this show isn't good. It isn't bad either... But not good. Lets divide it into sections: Direction: Mediocre. Literally an enormous disappointment. The show seems directed by an inexperienced film student. The action scenes are so poorly shot. Reva on the rooftops was so cringey and seeing Leia being able to outrun grown men multiple times in the most laughably bad way possible is not it. The less action-packed scenes were ok as in, they did their job. Nothing interesting in the camera department from the direction. Photography: Ok. Industry standard. Nothing innovative or impressive visually. Just average all over the place. Theres not a single memorable or incredible shot. Acting: All over the place. Some act really well, some dont. Moses Ingram behaves like a moustache twirling villain. I thought she was going to raise her fist and say "I'll get you, Kenobi!". Sountrack: Shit. Its literally shit. It doesn't elevate a single scene its in. It just fills an auditory void. It sounds nothing like Star Wars, unlike Mando's OST, which sounds completely different from John Williams' compositions but just feels like it belongs. I cant stress enough how much I dislike the generic, cliché sountrack. Art/Make-Up/Costumes/etc: Yeah, they are great. I wish more was practical studd instead of CGI, like Alderaan stuff. Can’t even catch a ten yr old girl. - Bail is the secret leader of the rebel alliance but he’s too incompetent to keep track of a 10 yr old? - Kenobi disobeys Yoda: doesn’t train to commune with Jinn and leaves Luke. -Inquisitors are not intimidating. They even let a Jedi run away. Grand Inquisitor can’t even sense his own death coming. - Reva knows everything…even who Skywalker is. Major retcon. Why hasn’t Vader executed her for this knowledge? -Reva tells Kenobi Vader is alive after 10 yrs. Yeah no $h!t Sherlock everyone in the galaxy knows the famous Jedi hunter “Darth Vader”…The emperors hand. Kenobi’s reaction to this was a let down. He should’ve been fearful and fainted or something. Goofy reaction. - little Leia was fun to watch. She and Reva should be in a new show called Estrogen Wars. Once you have lived to a certain age, experienced your fair share of media, formed a deep rooted attachment to certain characters (generally born from an early age), formed also a specific opinion and perspective about how stories should be told or how you would like them to be told, and when you've seen enough things that you can predict or anticipate every trick the filmmaker, storyteller, artist, writer will use to entice an audience under the sun, everything becomes redundant, boring, stale, and predictable. Nothing in really fresh anymore because we've seen it all, and everything that comes after is just a pale imitation of what we experienced the first time we saw it or read about it. We all get there eventually and I think you might already be there Philosophical Pickle in regards to your expectations with Star Wars. The franchise will never get better for you, because you've already had the best experience it can possibly hope to give you in your past.

I'm just a casual so for me it is much easier to get bored with it. On the flip side, my lack of deep investment or love for the characters allows me to be apathetic to what happens to them. As in I really could care less what happens to Obi-wan so long as I am mildly entertained. I watch the episodes and forget them a day later. Now for Cobra Kai or Bruce Timm's Batman, that is a different story. So we all have our niches.

I totally disagree with you on this one pickle, I felt like this work as a bridge in a story we already know about. He had the guilt over a ten year period. You putting way too much on two episodes. The one thing I do agree is that they focused too much time on Leia, however it connected to the story is of Obi-Wan id the reason why I feel like this story worked. I agree Reva is bad character development and overall a bad character. None of these movies or shows were needed after the Revenge of The Sith. I like what the delivered to us. Is it perfect? No, I'm a fan of Star Wars. I enjoy the universe, I just don't know it as well as something like Marvel. We didn't get to SEE that ten year period. They're just like "It's 10 years later and he's sad." If that was in another part of the EU, I didn't see it and that fails this show. I don't want to have to read or watch other things to understand the show I'm watching. I'm sure it'll get better once Vader comes in.

The first 5 minutes is probably going to be best part of the series - a Jedi fighting with lightsaber in an epic good vs evil. But instead we have a series that will lecture us on how patriarchy is holding talented females back, how females are just as important if not more important than the male counterpart, and Obi-wan doesn't take initiatives but has to be lecture on. Urgh...

- obi wan is a loser. In legends he keeps in shape and fights Tuskins.
-Kenobi has minimal connection with the force. Yet he begs Owen to train Luke. Teach him what exactly? The 7 stages of grief? Can’t even catch a ten yr old girl.
- Bail is the secret leader of the rebel alliance but he’s too incompetent to keep track of a 10 yr old?
- Kenobi disobeys Yoda: doesn’t train to commune with Jinn and leaves Luke.
-Inquisitors are not intimidating. They even let a Jedi run away. Grand Inquisitor can’t even sense his own death coming.
- Reva knows everything…even who Skywalker is. Major retcon. Why hasn’t Vader executed her for this knowledge?
-Reva tells Kenobi Vader is alive after 10 yrs. Yeah no $h!t Sherlock everyone in the galaxy knows the famous Jedi hunter “Darth Vader”…The emperors hand. Kenobi’s reaction to this was a let down. He should’ve been fearful and fainted or something. Goofy reaction.
- little Leia was fun to watch. She and Reva should be in a new show called Estrogen Wars.

you right but it's been 2 episodes. i agree that there is no way reva should know who vader is but like i said, we've only gotten 2 episodes. being blunt, i think you should star in the prepubescent wars lmao; reva's acting is a bit bad but at least for me i watched the 2 episodes stoned so it was easy to shrug off. little leia's acting was fine it was just the goofy ass chase scene and writers writing her to be mildly annoying through her dialogue. you also think kenobi breaking yoda's promise is some plothole which is pathetically funny. he broke a promise, tough shit

i mean besides that all your other critiques are fair. the inquisitors are definitely not intimidating but my only guess would be that it's because palpatine didn't dissolve the senate yet and the empire hasn't reached the level of totalitarianism yet as seen in other films like rebels which take place years after

Once you have lived to a certain age, experienced your fair share of media, formed a deep rooted attachment to certain characters (generally born from an early age), formed also a specific opinion and perspective about how stories should be told or how you would like them to be told, and when you've seen enough things that you can predict or anticipate every trick the filmmaker, storyteller, artist, writer will use to entice an audience under the sun, everything becomes redundant, boring, stale, and predictable. Nothing in really fresh anymore because we've seen it all, and everything that comes after is just a pale imitation of what we experienced the first time we saw it or read about it. We all get there eventually and I think you might already be there Philosophical Pickle in regards to your expectations with Star Wars. The franchise will never get better for you, because you've already had the best experience it can possibly hope to give you in your past.
That might be a solid point.....BUT The Mandalorian is my favorite Star Wars character ever, so they can still make things that are fresh and surprise me.
@@Dylasophical It just takes a bit longer then. Sooner or later you will tire of the Mandalorian as well especially if the later seasons begin to pale in comparison to what you saw in the first few. Better hope the show knows when to end, and not stay on for the sake of making money. I like the show as well but I have never been, nor will I ever be, that much of a Star Wars fan. I'm just a casual so for me it is much easier to get bored with it. On the flip side, my lack of deep investment or love for the characters allows me to be apathetic to what happens to them. As in I really could care less what happens to Obi-wan so long as I am mildly entertained. I watch the episodes and forget them a day later. Now for Cobra Kai or Bruce Timm's Batman, that is a different story. So we all have our niches.

I'm okay with it ending after season 3 if they nail the ending. And I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan, but I really like it and I enjoy collecting the merch sometimes. I don't love it near as much as comic book stuff.

I totally disagree with you on this one pickle, I felt like this work as a bridge in a story we already know about. He had the guilt over a ten year period. You putting way too much on two episodes. The one thing I do agree is that they focused too much time on Leia, however it connected to the story is of Obi-Wan id the reason why I feel like this story worked. I agree Reva is bad character development and overall a bad character. None of these movies or shows were needed after the Revenge of The Sith. I like what the delivered to us. Is it perfect? No close to it. Is it refreshing to have a entertaining story yes. Pickle if you aren't a fan of Star Wars this isn't for you. I can tell by the commentary that you might be on the fence.
No, I'm a fan of Star Wars. I enjoy the universe, I just don't know it as well as something like Marvel. We didn't get to SEE that ten year period. They're just like "It's 10 years later and he's sad." If that was in another part of the EU, I didn't see it and that fails this show. I don't want to have to read or watch other things to understand the show I'm watching. I'm sure it'll get better once Vader comes in.
