The honest truth is that not everyone can resell because they can't source. A lot of areas just don't have opportunities to find expensive, high demand items. It is just the facts. Some states and towns dont have people who buy those items in the first place

If there's any new resellers watching this video, everything stated in this video is 100% true. There's so many content creators pumping algorithm and non sensical conspiracies, it's sellers in denial of their own short comings. Those people do not want solutions, they want enablers to continually tell them it's eBay and not them. eBay holding back listings to make less money makes absolutely zero sense. He was much more diplomatic in this video than me, but they failed and do not want to adjust their business from items they think are cool to items that are proven to sell and they live in an echo chamber of people who have done the same. They feed off of each other and it's this massive circle of no accountability and place blame on a mega corporation that exists for money. Many openly state they don't follow comps or sell thru rate like it's this badge of honor, then make a 48 minutes video complaining that their items don't sell.
No, they make those conspiracy theories because there are a lot of people who believe that stuff. They also make those videos because negative videos get way more views than positive videos even when the videos are full of made up nonsense.

Your logic is solid until you come across promoted listings which earn eBay more and can show to customers willing to research less and pay more. Also sellers who have high return rates the algorithm would rightfully deprioritize them.
Comps are for noobs, they are meant to be broken to the upside by proffesionals that could sell salt to a slug. If it was not for the pro's the noobs,and desperate would be selling everything for $10 along with hotdogs just like a flea market 😂 little do most know.

People don't realise there is a perfect storm about to happen in the next year, year and a half. All major retailers have shifted away from luxury items and their floors are now filled more then ever with house hold items. I've watched all 3 of the walmarts I go to make this shift. Banks are now setting aside more money then ever for bad mortgages and loans as a very large chunk are coming up for renewal in 2 years, and most of those mortgage payments will be substaintially higher. The used market is about to boom, and boom hard. Fill your boots ladies and gents, there's gold coming down that hill.

I also want to thank you for hammering home how importance it is to pay attention to the sell through rate. Since we have paid more attention to our sell through rate our items are selling within 30 days sometimes within a week. Keep up the great work keep up the positive attitude and love your videos.
I really appreciate your tips and experience that you share. I've been on eBay since 2011 and really getting back into it, and this helps a lot. I've also started a youtube to go along with it, and that's taking me time to get used to that. Thank you for your advice and knowledge.
I love the honesty and it is true. I have badic air Jordan's I cannot sell and other items I have listed and sold in hours or a few days. I would also say don't get hung up on specific names, because not everything Nike sells quick. And if you do have great items and they are not moving then it is probably your price.

You're right. I once sold a gold coin with the title: "Gold Coin." That was the entire title. It sold for way more than the actually price of gold at the time. I got 83 total bids and started the auction at 99 cents. Demand is everything.
Regarding the frames, are you buying glasses and removing the lenses or are the lenses usually already removed? Also, do you ship them in boxes or like your remotes with lots of bubble wrap and polymailer? Thank you!
I have a clothing auctioneer who sells as many bags you can stuff in a vehicle for 10 dollars, they only focus on a few brand names and leave tons of good items from bread and butter, to my most expensive bag which had nothing but old vintage band t shirts.
Its the niche I locked down in, because I can get the inventory so easily.

But my recent experience with my products is they aren’t getting seen and the first 2 I posted sold within the month I posted I’ve now had 2 more up and seeing I’m not even getting views per day. What am I doing wrong ? Is it because I didn’t pay this time to help advertise them ? Did I not post them correctly I’m kinda surprised because they are high end new and wanted in the market.

Not true. ITEMS ARE BEING HIDDEN ON EBAY. I have to search google after searching ebay for the exact items not showing up in search. Same keywords. Exact item different sellers. Ebay hides listings. So to say list better in demand items is false. Same items, same titles, same seller and ebay doesn't show me all of the violins a seller has for sale. I needed a violin for my daughter and after I purchased from a seller the same sellers other violin was shown to me on eBay. Seconds after I purchased it. I would have purchased the sellers other violin because the case was in better condition but was highly disappointed in ebay as a buyer do to the trickery. Other buyers are realizing the search issues. I don't want to have to search google to find what ebay has for sale when eBay doesn't want to show me all the items I request in search bar. Amazon is much easier to shop.
eBay doesn't hide listings. You list items you think are valuable, not what the platform tells you sells.
What you are describing is a title issue, the title in that instance is so bad the item is irrelevant to the search terms used
It's not ebay fault it's the person and how they listed it. When you search it matches up with how it's listed. That's why it's important to list things in a way to reach everyone. But you have to understand key words used when people search. For example brand color model .....

Several days I was searching for a particular vitamin which I know they were abundant on eBay a month ago and first nothing showed up, I thot they’re gone, no one selling it, I searched by name of vitamin, and several times, finally a bunch came upon a search. Wasn’t sure I could get the search to come up again. I didn’t
I,e the prices cuz they were pretty much market plus shipping, these can be bot at vitamins stores with free shipping. I ended up not buying from eBay sellers due to the pricing. But still sometimes the items don’t show up when searching lol. These days someone was saying eBay was glitching. It could be part of what some people are experiencing. Just an FYI

How did you learn about niche electronics ? I can understand mastering the art of selling clothing because thats common but things like calculators, VCRs and Typewriters are so niche. It seems overwhelming. I know the obvious BOLOS like certain Texas Instrument calculators but that's about it. I primarily sell clothing and am currently trying to maximize my time in thrift stores.

Okay so I have a question. I am very new to your channel and love the content. I watched a video towards the end of last year and one of the things you said is paramount, is the consistent listing. With the 30 drafts a day sending out X amount in the morning etc. Now in this video you are saying it’s not as important. Is this simply because the market has changed and there are more sellers flooding the market with the more common items, or has the market as a whole slowed down and the more quality items are the only ones still selling at good prices? Thanks
Listing the same amount of items per day is not for the algorithm, but it is for you as a business owner to maintain consistency, which is important. However, it is much more important to list quality items than quantity of items so if you can only find a small amount of good items. It is better to list the small amount than a larger amount of low quality items.

i do clothing items as a side hustle and pricing is everything with the exception of rare items. my advice is to list all clothes as free shipping to stay as competitive as possible and average the cost of shipping into the all-in pricing.
Ebay, gives shipping discounts to buyers at the seller's cost now. All it did for me was buyers like the new low shipping and still want my high priced items for lower, lower, and lower prices. I've found many buyers are greedy; felt the greed really kick in after the covid scare bull.
yes it does but it requires you to be very specific about the weight and measurement of the item to be right. also, there are times when Pirate Ship is cheaper than Ebay so you could be charging more than you have to. for me is just simoler to do free shipping and assures me the price is competitive regardless of where the buyer is located
Bro actually listing new things like refrigerator filters and other new items that have high sell through rates boosts your account more than for example a used Ti 89 ce calculator

Alright let me push back a little bit on this video. Jake is right when he says that it’s your items, not the algorithm that’s the problem. Whenever I post great items on ebay, I make straight cash all day every day. However, those resellers that live in states like Utah and Montana and other rural locations just have better inventory to choose from. It’s just a fact. I live in a large city and have been to dozens and dozens of thrift stores in my area and I have *never* found the majority of items that Jake is highlighting here. The stores are straight up picked over. Also, Jake does this for a living, meaning he has full days to go sourcing. I do ebay on the side in addition to my full time job, so if I go out sourcing on my lunch break and find nothing, guess what, I go home with nothing. So my store stalls instead of grows with great inventory. Really frustrating.
All rural resellers will tell you it’s easier in a city and those in the city say it’s easier in rural. I can tell you to pros and cons of both and a strategy to succeed in both

What you stated is studied and repeatable human behavior and physiology. “It’s always easier somewhere else” “My environment limits me from succeeding” “my circumstances hold me back” it sounds like you’re on the right path and are very close to breaking away from average human behavior. Here’s the truth. If you improve yourself and your skill set you will be better at finding items to provide a living.

Big cities are definitely better i lived in las vegas before much bigger then where im at now way easier to find good stuff now i have to travel a lot more and hit more stores to find the same amount of things

so my first month ive made for 1k in sales so far. all my items ive priced at the lost including shipping and ive done well. granted the inventory i bought i got very cheap and am able to do that.
If there was literally 1 other person in my city who sold clothing and showed up at the good thrift stores when they open my income would drop significantly. If there were 2, it would drop even more. If you can make good money from local thrift stores now, go as hard as you can because this type of income can disappear quick.

Here is a great example of someone pumping out low quality videos with poor editing skills. Chasing the numbers by just pumping out junk will keep you small time. Imo
