The GI30 Integrated MOPA Fiber Laser by Monport!
Installing and setting up is easy by following this video!
The video includes the Ezcad2 software install, finding the true focus of the laser, and alignment of the laser head to the machine work area. I've also include another 10-15 minutes showing a basic engraving of text and a graphic on a steel plate.
This is video #2 in a series all about the GI30 Integrated MOPA Fiber Laser machine!

FanTASTIC series. I muddled my way thru through, but while all of the information is out there, this is the only series that goes from unboxing, assembly, ezcad driver, to lightburn in one place. The information elsewhere is quite segmented. You're my hero except for not being the first reference I clicked on. 😁
That's awesome to hear!
very good video.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
How do I set up this laser on a Mac? Do I need to go through all the same steps and can I use EzCad or do I need light burn? Thanks in advance!
Hi- I don't use Apple products so I never checked into if Ezcad2 is compatible with Apple products. Lightburn might be a better route. Another option is to Join the FB group for Ezcad2 Users to see what other who have Mac are using.
Do I have to plug in the machine before installing the software
Yes- power on the machine and connect USB cable. The manual for the machine also provides step by step instructions!
I just got my new laser engraver and the up button doesn't work. Everything else seems to be working fine. Hoping it's a software issue and not a defective machine. Any thoughts?
The up/down button is hardwired internal to the machine. Unfortunately, the up/down is not controlled through software. Do the up/down buttons on the machine work?
@@thelaserchannel1the down button works but the up button doesn’t work. I can raise it manually but it’s very slow. I reached out to Monoort help desk.
@@jeffreyjulian4570 Very odd the only the down button works... The rest of the machine works ok?
yeah everything else seems to work ok. I haven’t tried to focus the laser yet because it won’t go up but I guess I could just mark a small circle on a piece of test material just to be sure
@@jeffreyjulian4570 Ok- let me know how your Monport service experience goes.
