I just received my new GI30 and your video is spot on. Most of the assembly is self evident but there are a few spots that you identified perfectly. Thanks. Also like to mention that Monport's packaging perfectly preserves the unit. My only grief is the lens cap will not stay on, however, its construction will ensure many years of service.

Thanks! Let me know if Monport remedies the lens cap for you. Enjoy the GI30- it's an amazing machine!

Thanks for the video and I would certainly like to see how you finish your setup on this as there are not many videos on this GI30 on TH-cam. Things I would like to see is your process of leveling the head to the bed, setup in Lightburn etc. I got one a few weeks ago and so far it works well after some setup. Since there may be others out there getting this as their first Fiber Laser, a followup like you mention will be a great help. I am curious if you will be creating your own .cor file or using the factory one. I noticed that the one that came with my GI30 sets the work area to 167.5mm instead of 150mm as it shipped with the 150mm lens. Thanks again for the content and look to future videos.

Glad you like the video! More videos are on the way including software setup and head alignment to the work space!

Great video! I appreciate how thorough and clear your videos are. Small tidbits like the laser head and base cannot be disconnected and why that can be challenging is important to know. I’m not yet in the market for that style laser but I may change my mind. I recently purchased an xTool F1, specifically for the IR laser, so I’m interested to see what this laser can do that the F1 IR laser cannot. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! The next couple of videos will show the software setup and I really get into engraving, cutting, and marking different materials!

Hey Greg great video as usual. What is the advantage of a fiber laser versus a diode laser.

Speed and detail- fiber lasers can reach speeds for 5,000 to 10,000 mm/s! The base resolution I run is .0254mm interval which is 1000 lines per inch! The laser is extremely well with metals, rock/ceramics and hard plastics. I use mine mainly for metal work and metal plaques. Glad you're enjoying the channel!

Greg it's Lee again from UK. Appreciate your replies to date. Would you recommend Monport this, which you've had at least a few months now or a Cloudray 50w (non MOPA)?

Both are great machines- if your budget allows go for a 50 watt machine. I have both brands and both perform very well for me. While my GI30 has electric focusing, personally I like the manual focus better. The current manual focus machine from Monport is the GQ series.

It's listed on the Monport site in the link- currently on sale for under $4000! I don't list the price in the videos or description because of ongoing sales and coupon specials. Thanks for watching!
