      Thanks- I have stamp material but haven't made any stamps so I can't say for 100%. Making a stamp out of metal will not work with any power laser diode machine- for this a split fiber machine is better suited. Thanks for watching!

      HI- that depends on the material you would like to cut/engrave/mark or color mark. There's 3 types of laser sources- Split fiber/Mopa, RF Co2, and IR- each excels in a different area. The LaserPecker LP4 offers 2 in 1 laser head offering Laser diode and IR and I don't know of another galvo machine on the market that's versatile as the LP4. As you know the laser source and power output spans a price range of sub $2,000 to $10,000.

    Greg, in tip #1 you don't have to duplicate the word wood. When you bring up the Cut Settings Editor in LightBurn set everything as you did before. Then press the + sign in the upper right of the editor. You will now see another square come up with a 2 beside it. Now, you can set everything up as you did in your second layer. Use this method instead of duplicating layers.

    It’s a lot more challenging than what you presented in the video to switch out the modules. If anything can be said about the IR module, it is the most difficult part to change back and forth. I think the engineering replacement for one module and back to the other modules is a pain in the ass. WeCreat should have created a module that had a switch going from IR back to the 20 watts or vice versa. Instead, most users will have a hard time switching out the modules every time they want to work with metal or non-metal materials. WeCreat really failed with this one. May sound crazy, better to have two WeCreat’s, one for IR laser and the other for 20watt. If you get the new IR module, trust me, you’re going to wish having two WeCreat’s wasn’t as crazy as I mentioned. 😎

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feedback- I did ask Wecreat if the connector board had to be swapped each time- Yes, yes it does. For me the module swap takes about 10-15 minutes and I would like to see it at 5 minutes or less. I agree with you- not the most convenient module to swap.

    • @LouRao
      @LouRao 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@thelaserchannel1Thanks for the reply. Even spending 10 to 15 minutes can feel like a waste of time, especially when you have to constantly switch back and forth. It's not just about the time consumed; it's also not as easy as people might think. You might eventually get the hang of it, but it's still tedious, involving unscrewing, cutting ties, and then redoing it repeatedly. This suggests that WeCreat is developing products without consumer interaction. If they had involved consumers, this new module would never have gone to market. So, as a new company in the laser business, WeCreat is starting off on the wrong path, which will hurt them in the long run. And don’t think for a moment that WeCreat is popular right now; they’re not. WeCreat distributes many of their lasers to social media influencers (like yourself), making it seem very popular, but it's merely a marketing strategy. 99.9 % of WeCreat owners were sponsored and the average consumers has a low number of ownership, paid by them. Lastly, before WeCreat focuses on new products, they should address the problem with the focus point, where the laser doesn't always engrave where intended. This issue persists across batch products as well. Regardless of what WeCreat's video content creators demonstrate, engraving isn't consistently accurate from their presentations. This is my second WeCreat, and despite calibration efforts, it's still hit or miss. 😎

    I was just successful in connecting/configuring my Atomstack R1 Pro Laser Rotary Roller that included both the flat roller unit and the chuck. Nice to have TWO separate units without having to dick around swapping parts etc. like the xTool RA2 Pro. Let me tell you, these Atomstack units are built like a tank, just like the build quality of my Longer B1 30 watt laser. I'm very impressed with the heavy duty build and my first tests were spot on with linearity and repetition of motion. FYI, the two supplied cables, one "white" for the Atomstack machine and the other "black" cable for aftermarket lasers, was a good provision. The Longer B1 used the "white" cable for communication with the first use of the black cable not playing at all. The 15mm circle, box, and the words "ROTARY TEST" engraved on an EMPTY beer can, came out great with linearity within about .5mm or so. I can't b!tch about those results at all. I'm now awaiting the ingredients for my Titanium Dioxide coating method and look forward to cranking out some good "stuff".... Your mentioning about "hot swapping" the Y axis cable was beneficial as there is no homing limit switch to hit with the X axis gantry, I first disabled "home on power on", but, still was receiving the "out of bounds" error when I tried to burn. SO, I re-enabled the "home on power on" with the normal Y axis servo connected, then after homing I swapped the chuck out for the Y axis servo motor and the laser unit was none the wiser with perfect operation thereafter. For the leg risers I cut square pieces of 2x4's gluing three high. I applied 1 inch squares of the Scotch 1/25" of the sticky backed silicone sheet under the bottom 2x4 and for the cost of half a stick of a 2x4, the risers support without any wobble at all. Thank you for a great video that got me going in short order. NOW back to burning....

    Thank you soooo much for putting this together. I’m a newbie. I tried the Rustoleum spray paint method with black and white matte colors. The black had white etching and the white black etching! And if you run it under hot water, it breaks down and peels off with having to really use acetone. Again, wonderful job!

    How long did it take to engrave your project?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Longer than higher power machines- this being a 5 watt it took about 17 minutes for the Basswood ply and 36 minutes for the pressboard. I recommend to look at the 10 watt version- not only can you run much faster, the cutting action opens a lot more project possibilities! Thanks for watching!

    FanTASTIC series. I muddled my way thru through, but while all of the information is out there, this is the only series that goes from unboxing, assembly, ezcad driver, to lightburn in one place. The information elsewhere is quite segmented. You're my hero except for not being the first reference I clicked on. 😁

    I just got my new laser engraver and the up button doesn't work. Everything else seems to be working fine. Hoping it's a software issue and not a defective machine. Any thoughts?

    • @thelaserchannel1

      The up/down button is hardwired internal to the machine. Unfortunately, the up/down is not controlled through software. Do the up/down buttons on the machine work?

    Thank you, My wife, died last July and I’m looking to put her name on a brass urn. Atomstack and Ikier manuals don’t have instructions on where to connect roller to the laser. As a side note I ordered a Atomstack R30 V2 infrared laser module 2W That should get here today. The Atomstack manual for this module say’s it will work with an Ikier K1 machine. If you want, I’ll tell you how it works out.

      @@thelaserchannel1 I got the Atomstack R30 V2 today it took about 15 minutes to mount and plug in. I haven’t tried the rotary yet, gotta find a brass tube I can practice on. On a flat piece of brass using fill w/cross hatch @45degrees 100%, 254mm/s and 0.127 mm interval I was able to engrave a filled circle that did not scratch off with my finger nail. Notes the focus pole is dead on, The brass needed a quarter in. piece of MDF on a honey comb to get the proper height, I Turned off Z control till I get Z offset figured out as well as startup auto-home and Return to Finish Position.

    Now I come again with a question.I want to get into the business so ,for my budget I want to choose between A20 pro and A24pro(which now is with 100Euro cheaper than A20).I want to do only glass and metal engraving. So,please be kind and help me to make a decision....

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A24 Pro for the WIN (in the USA it's labeled as the X24 Pro)- it's preassembled, has an upgraded rail guide system for the x and y axis, and has a clean layout and cable management. The drawback is the unibody frame is all one piece so there's no option to expand the work area. The A24 Pro also has a slightly smaller work area. Either machine will engrave glass once it's coated with a marking agent like tempura paint. Both will color mark Stainless steel black- mirrored stainless steel will need a coating to keep the laser from reflecting back in the laser module and causing immediate damage. Hope this helps and best wishes.
