Greg, in tip #1 you don't have to duplicate the word wood. When you bring up the Cut Settings Editor in LightBurn set everything as you did before. Then press the + sign in the upper right of the editor. You will now see another square come up with a 2 beside it. Now, you can set everything up as you did in your second layer. Use this method instead of duplicating layers.

for tip#2 one could also use blue masking tape

That's a great idea and for larger project I know they make blue making tape about 6" wide! Thanks for watching!

Any tips for basswood that are warped? Or how to store them so they dont warp?

Personally- on warped wood, I cut it down to smaller pieces. Smaller wood pieces I store flat with a weight or books on top in a dry area.
