Thanks for taking the time to create this. Im a new gun owner trying to keep my weapon clean and properly maintained. Your video was by far the best one I watched. I especially like the way you identified the peices and parts and explained their purpose. Great job thanks again.
Thank you, I was looking up cleaning videos but I everyones using things that look fancier than the basic kit and this helped me understand my kit better.
Thank you for this from a gun newbie. My focus is mainly on DA/SA pistols with integrated safeties/decockers. I realize these guns are out of style and striker fired polymer 9s have taken over. But, I like the flexibility with all the various carrying conditions DA/SAs offer and additional safety provided by the safety/decocker when reholstering and lowering the hammer on a loaded chamber. I don't really like a striker with no safety and a heavy DA only because they feel unsafe and I don't like striker fired triggers relative to a SA trigger. I realize rifles are much more involved to clean and that striker fired guns work differently than hammer fired guns. All that said, should one be concerned about lint from cotton swabs getting into the gun and becoming attached to the lubricants? Also, are various items used in car detailing like microfiber cloths useful in gun cleaning since microfibers pick up so much more dirt? Do you have a position on CLP vs. solvent/cleaner/lube? Do you prefer rods over snakes for pistols? And do rotating barrels like in the Beretta Storm series require different cleaning methods than a traditional Browning tilt up barrel? I'm learning there is a lot of variation to gun cleaning kits. Otis seems to be the big brand because of their U.S. military contract. Thank you.
wish u wouldnt have shown the kit in the wooden box , u opened, then closed it , i've got a very similar kit , w/ a paper parts diagram , but no comp. name !!, i need 2 find out the thread size on the ONE and ONLY brass rod that screws into the smaller threaded hole in the plastic wing handle , the threads need chased on the handle and rod, i got model # gck76, ,also would like the other thread sizes , dont know if all of the bore brushes are common thread , got a 40 cal.empty plastic tube from otis, but my 40 cal . brush has no name on it ,if anyone knows ,reply , thanx , may have 2 call or visit a gun shop , or call otis , seems 2 me the mfr ,. shoulda put their name on the box , and paper parts list !! ....great video !!
