For those with an insignificant IQ to comprehend this video, the purpose of this video is to show the absolute truth behind people bloating or bragging about hitting 200mph using some of the world's most notorious sport cars. It gives conclusive evidence about the distance needed and power to reach 200mph.
Aside from horsepower, wind and weather, length of the strip, frontal area and drag coefficient of the car and luck, he forgot to mention that elevation also plays a big role because horsepower is decreased by about 3% for every thousand feet rise in elevation, and at about 3,000 feet elevation of Mojave, those cars lost already about 9% of their power. According to my calculation using known formulas, the Mercedes with 617 hp is already down to about 561 hp to begin with, and it would need to have about 644 hp at least to achieve 200 mph.
+Chris Perrin will there's obviously something wrong within the engine or could be fuel filler cap not tighten correctly but who knows until it gets checked over
I love how there was something wrong with 3 of the cars. The Lambo's ESP was malfunctioning, the Ferrari had a check engine light on, and the SLR had a malfunctioning tire pressure monitor sensor haha. So expensive and slightly broken lol
A Lamborghini Huracan can tip 200mph in 1.9miles and even the new Bmw M6 can do 200mph in 2.5miles so these guys either didn't have enough runway or they wasn't aggressive enough. If you want to do 200mph you need to be hard on the car keep your foot pressed as hard as possible on the accelerator pedal and never slow down when an engine warning light and always make sure THE CAR HAS PETROL IN IT BEFORE YOU RUB FOR 200MPH!!!
The higher the compression ratio the better the air fuel mixture is going to burn, up to the point where the pressure gets to high and the air fuel mix ignites before the piston reaches top dead centre and the spark plug goes off, higher octane fuels can take higher compression without combusting that is the limitation with a petrol engine. Pumping in more air not only allows you to pump in more fuel, but generates more power from it than a naturally aspirated counterpart.
Try shifting the Ferrari at 8500 RPM instead of 8000. The HP curve/characteristics favor highest RPM shift point so entry to the next gear is also at the highest possible HP. Might have hit 200 if he had done that.
This was very interesting. None of these cars hit their claimed top speed. 3 miles would have been great but about 2 3/4 mile was fair enough.....more than enough distance for a top speed test.
Thats pretty beast if u think about it guys. The freaking lamborgini goes 60 mph within 3.4 seconds and basically all the others like the ferrari go the same

209 mph in a twin turbo 96 GT (770 rwhp - 830 rwtq) on the freeway, threw it in neutral and coasted for 7 miles... that's the fastest I've ever been :)
Funny to watch this now with the monsters that currently exist...just watch for instance Sutcliffe race that Mercedes hot-hatch in a P1 and he gives it a 5 second head start. After the launch he's at 200mph before he knows it, and it's totally stable all the way, calling the numbers almost in 10s all the way.
What amazes me the most is the unprecedented advances in technology from year to year. This video is only 2 years old and now a 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will go 190+ mph with 662 bph. All for around $55k. I wonder where we'll be in another 3-5 years.

No wonder the Ferrari and Mercedes are considered kings of the road,even at nearly 200mph they didnt shake much and were running smooth,especially Mercedes as it shook the least.Where as Bentley and Lambo were shaking like they were about to come off.
You're thinking of video games or Kilometers Per Hour (Which it's actually around 354). The fastest anyone's gotten an Aventador going is about 230mph or so.

No, what you is a UGR stage 3 kit for that lp560 and you'll be hitting 250mph in a standing mile.
