@@Tuck_Frump Who cares if your badly put together EV is faster 0-60? It doesn't have sound, no fun handling but alot of weight. LFA is fun, has awesome sound, is exclusive and probably the highest quality you can get.
@@gt7984 gotta love them Tesla fan boys. They don't understand what makes a car a true masterpiece. The LFA is a masterpiece. The LFA is a beautifully balanced supercar with stunning looks, a quality interior, and an engine note that sends chills down people's spines. A Tesla is not even in the same realm as a titan like the LFA. The Tesla may be one of the quickest cars, but the LFA is the faster car. People mix quickness up with fastness way too often. Quickness is how fast a car gets up to speed, fastness is what a car can achieve on its top speed. The Tesla is indeed quicker, but the LFA in the end will still walk on past it all the way to over 200 mph while the Tesla loses steam at 170ish.
FartParticles That's like people paying $200 dollars on a designer belt. "Oh its made with genuine high quality leather." I could go to any other store and buy a $5 belt made from polyester and it still would do the same thing as the $200. Trying to justify it saying it's got a bunch of Vella and whistles doesn't change the fact the fact that you can spend considerably less and get the same job done. Jo
***** don't get me wrong I think both are amazing beautiful pieces of work. I just saying that it's weird that a very limited expensive car that's full of the latest most inivative tech is barely faster (in a drag race) than a mass produced car. For me it's just that the GTR kinda breaks common sense. It's the practicality and the whole "bang for your buck" thing.
There are obvious reasons why the LFA costs so much more. It looks better, has a nicer interior, and it's damn reliable. It's like comparing a mustang gt to an ISF.
Goosebumps I always think the world is coming to end when I hear the LFAs motorsound. It is still the unbeatable motorsound of the automotive world I‘ve ever heard
watched this dozens of times over the last 12 years, a true classic. Mototrend channel was about to blow up and become the automotive king of TH-cam. Some kids who wore diapers then now own supercars and act annoying on their channels.
I'm with you on this.. They could have also used the Lexus RC500. Lighten the cars weight up. Use a retro version of MK4 dash. Make a manual trans version.

"It has been developped over 10 years, using carbon fibre reinforced polymer, red lines to 9000 rpm in under 0.5s,.." "CAN IT DO A QUARTER MILE RACE FASTER THAN ... " Oh this is so 'Murica! A masterpiece in engineering, designed and built to be a precision tool that can do things previously unknown to super cars... And yet, all people want to know is how fast it can go in straight line.. And the best, compared to another magnificent piece of engineering, that is also built for precision driving, excellent handling and outrageous performance..
GTR is a beast in its own league for sure. But that LFA was a masterpiece with both elegant look and extraordinary performance. Naturally aspirated V10 revving all the way to 9000rpm leaving a symphony in the cabin is just phenomenal.
I love me a GT-R, but nobody can argue the fact that the LFA sounds better and more aggressive than any stock car on the market (tunes and after-market exhausts excluded)
The sound of the V10 near redline makes the hairs on the back of your neck pay attention! Probably the best sounding exhaust note in any supercar with perhaps the exception of the Porsche GT!
Much like what the Hellcat was for American cars, the LFA was a gamechanger for Lexus. After her debut, people started looking at the brand much, much more closely 😳as a serious contender for build excellent performance vehicles, rather than another luxury brand that built reliable,if unspeakably dull, cars. Frankly,it would not surprise me if a LFA could go the million-mile mark without losing its edge.
Considering the LFA is just one model, what model of gtr did they use cus there is many? There is two thing the LFA will always beat the GTR in, quality and the magnificent sound of that v10.
Just think about the GTR with a 3.8Ltr V6 competing with a 4 ltr V10...Its mind-blowing how that mighty R35 still manages to keep up with the LFA... Absolutely staggering 🙌🏻 Both a Masterpiece 🇯🇵❤️
Trent Mclellan I love GTR but if you knew anything about it, you'd know that 2.7 seconds 0-60 can only be done a few times before the tranny breaks. You can't be using launch control in every race. I doubt that they used launch control in this race, which explains the 3.5 seconds. LFA looks, sounds, and in just about every way is better than GTR. It doesn't even compete with GTR. It's way out of GTR's league. It's not over priced. Any super car that has limited production will cost that much.
Rizwan Javed the GTR tranny doesn't break, after a certain point launch control will be disabled until it cools down requires a quick lap. This is not 2009 Lol
Art in motion. One of the most over engineered cars on the planet. Japan's gift to gear heads around the world. I had the pleasure of filming one on the interstate in Miami. It's everything you think it is.
The lfa is more so a masterpiece of how well developed Japanese motors has come! It was truly to show the word how technologically advanced a car can be, and that just so happens to come with a price !
I honestly hold both of these examples in the highest echelon of car making and to us car enthusiasts as the best in their segments, one for collecting(LFA kept new is fetching a million plus) and one for daily driving as I still see 1st gen on road, both are supreme.
Cool cars. But some things that I don't like about the gtr is how it looks. It does not look like a sports car and looks like a tank. And the other thing is how quiet it is compared to other supercars. But overall they are impressive cars.
LFA is exclusive and will appreciate in price. So it's an investment. A GTR depreciates. The argument is literally like this. Should I get the bigger steak aka Nissan GTR. Or the more expensive better tasting but smaller steak aka LFA. A rich person doesn't care about a GTR because everyone has one. Especially in California. Why not be different and get something special ? Every journalist knows the LFA is spectacular. Every keyboard warrior needs to realize you can't compare the two cars. They weren't made to compete with each other.
i vote LFA WHY? i like the fact that its RWD. also it's pristine and sexy, whereas legendary nissan looks like an awkward contraption. s13 looks better than nissan gtr, everything looks better than gtr
They make masterpieces of sports cars. The LFA speaks for itself. The GTR beat almost every single supercar in production, which made everyone have to completely redo their cars to compete.
2010 GTR vs a 2012 LFA? Seriously? They couldn't go out and "rent" a 2012 GTR or borrow a 2012? put of two of the same year models head to head and you'd see a diff result.
1/4 mile times aren't the deal breaker for any car let alone a Supercar. The technology, design and engineering that went onto the LFA is far superior to the Nissan. The GT-R is not a super car for those reasons, not it's speed capabilities. I would love to own a GT-R but if I had the money to spend upwards of $400k on a car, I would choose the LFA even it it was slower than the GT-R. Pretty sure you can make any Mustang or Camaro a better 1/4 mile and 0-60 car if you wanted to spend enough but it still won't be a Supercar or anywhere near as cool as an LFA, Ford GT, NSX, or top end Aston Martin and those who think so are just trying to justify thriftyness and value for the sake of simple speed. Ever been in a GT-R? It feels plasticity and cheap like a typical Nissan. It's fast, but that's about all it is really. Even if the LFA didn't move, it would still be worth more than a GT-R. Nothing about a true Supercar is value oriented. Shit, the sound of the LFA alone is worth $100k to anyone who's qualified financially to afford it.
Can't believe it's been 13 years since this. Both of these cars are legends!!! They put the world on notice, the Japanese weren't joking around back then. Their current state is very depressing. Those were definitely the glory days, both Nissan/Infiniti and Toyota/Lexus making hits after hits. Could we please turn back time?
Great cars, but I'd definitely go with the LFA. If I have enough money to buy one of those cars, money isn't an object. I like the exclusivity of the LFA. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE a GT-R, but as a Toyota fan, my heart belongs with the LFA. They are both great cars!!!
Of course it does! think about it this way: you pay a max of 120k$ and get a car that is one inch behind a 400k$ car! by spending 50K$ more on you GT-R you can easily turn it into a truly unbeatable car!
I'm a GTR enthusiast , but I would not want it to beat a LFA.
The LFA is a masterpiece.

Adeum Deus Since GTR fans are SO butthurt, why are you the one crying?

Josh Ochoa I have yet to see an LFA.... ive seen plenty of Lambos...
Cody Bowser They do some sort of drag racing/car show event near my house at the Floyd Bennett Airfield every few months so I see a lot of supercars and rare classics driving by my neighborhood. I've seen the Ferrari Enzo, Aventador, Porsche Carrera GT, R8 GT, a ton of GTR's, and a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder (rarest car I've ever seen but could have been a replica) just to name a few. I have yet to see an LFA. That alone shows you why the car is worth what it is.
I dont care how overpriced or uncomfortable or unrefined people say this car is, if i ever won the lottery this would be the first car i purchased. The rear end of the car is the prettiest ever designed...and of course that exhaust lol.
You can keep it. I have a Model 3 performance and it's faster 0 to 60mph and quarter mile. I have a feeling while you accomplish your dream, you will never know how awesome that speed is, unless you get the affordable Tesla.
@@Tuck_Frump the sound of the lfa alone is more than enough a reason to buy it. Also the car has such a beautiful character
@@sammymilner9360 you dream. I live. Good luck with your LFA. I'll own a cyber truck when out and you'll still dream while I continue to live.
The Tesla is indeed quicker, but the LFA in the end will still walk on past it all the way to over 200 mph while the Tesla loses steam at 170ish.
japanese make really good cars
They top the consumer reports for a reason.
Makes me happy seeing the LFA being so respected. So sad that only 500 units were released
A $400,000 super car that carries all the latest tech barely beat a car 1/5 of the price? Pretty disappointing if you ask me.
Isaiah Quidilla the LFA is built with luxury materials. only 500 units made, and the GTR is a race car built to be affordable. lol. are you stupid?
FartParticles That's like people paying $200 dollars on a designer belt. "Oh its made with genuine high quality leather." I could go to any other store and buy a $5 belt made from polyester and it still would do the same thing as the $200. Trying to justify it saying it's got a bunch of Vella and whistles doesn't change the fact the fact that you can spend considerably less and get the same job done. Jo
Isaiah Quidilla The LFA wasnt build for people who are happy with a cheap common $5 belt.
It's like comparing a mustang gt to an ISF.
id take the lfa, driving pleasure over performance
Goosebumps
I always think the world is coming to end when I hear the LFAs motorsound.
It is still the unbeatable motorsound of the automotive world I‘ve ever heard
Lol calm down, it sounds like a formula racing car… nothing we haven’t heard before, it looks ugly anyways, The GTR Nismo looks better and is faster.
@@cristian3024 LFA is forgotten today… so yeah, you’re saying something
Love both of these so much! Even as a Lexus driver, I have immense respect for the GTR. Can't wait for the GT-R50 in 2019
How did they get a 2012 car in 2010? Do they have a time traveling machine?
Miguel Martins yeah what the hell man😂
Miguel Martins concept
It’s either a typo, or the car is a pre-production prototype. Or... *DOC BROOOOWWWWNNNNN*
He said it’s available for few hours
That LFA sound is pure bliss!! 😍
watched this dozens of times over the last 12 years, a true classic. Mototrend channel was about to blow up and become the automotive king of TH-cam. Some kids who wore diapers then now own supercars and act annoying on their channels.
10 years later, this video still turns me on. Especially being in lockdown. Wow how things have changed.
Who else this Toyota should have made the 2019 supra based on the LFA.
I'm with you on this.. They could have also used the Lexus RC500. Lighten the cars weight up. Use a retro version of MK4 dash.
Make a manual trans version.
No one would buy a 400 thousand dollar supra lmao
@@ethanjensen1273 The car would have cost 80k. The LFA was a Super car. And they were selling for $250k.
But the technology was their for Toyota to use some of it for a true Toyota Built Supra.
@@ethanjensen1273 I also just read a story that if Toyota didn't get the deal done with BMW. They would have built The Supra themselves in 2 more years.
I would have rather waited then see this Wet the Bed car. Much rather see a Supra built by Toyota.
Same story days they want to bring back the MR2. Who are they going to team up with now. VW They have rear engine technology too. Lol
@Vinny Booboo Oh, ok thanks man. I didn't think they were over $250k.
Appreciate it. 👍
"It has been developped over 10 years, using carbon fibre reinforced polymer, red lines to 9000 rpm in under 0.5s,.."
"CAN IT DO A QUARTER MILE RACE FASTER THAN ... "
Oh this is so 'Murica!
LFA sound its fantastic, look a like V10 engine F1 car!
11 years later and still an amazing video
Gonna still get the Gtr, price, performance, and raw aggression hands down. If i wanted a motorcycle for $400'000. I would buy one.
Carlos Rushing motorcycle? It's a car you fucking stinky moron.
LFA looks better, sounds better and I'd have more fun driving that than a GTR.
GTR is a beast in its own league for sure. But that LFA was a masterpiece with both elegant look and extraordinary performance. Naturally aspirated V10 revving all the way to 9000rpm leaving a symphony in the cabin is just phenomenal.
The best sound of two supercars in history 🎶🔥🇯🇵❤️
I love me a GT-R, but nobody can argue the fact that the LFA sounds better and more aggressive than any stock car on the market (tunes and after-market exhausts excluded)
well then a gtr with after market exhaust will blow away any car
Ricky Lahey eh that's debatable with the Carrera GT
na tbh i still think it sound like a tin can (personally i like a deeper sound but its everyone own opinion)
LFA is my ultimate dream car. As of now I just play with my lowered IS
Now it's 2022 and these still are masterpieces
I pick that LFA purely cause it sound like an F1❤
Ooofff. The sound of the LFA is just magnificent.
The V10 won with the V6 inches behind which is still impressive!
I love both cars!!
Just think about the GTR with a 3.8Ltr V6 competing with a 4 ltr V10...Its mind-blowing how that mighty R35 still manages to keep up with the LFA... Absolutely staggering 🙌🏻
Both a Masterpiece 🇯🇵❤️
TurBo
LFA = LEXUS FUCKING AWESOME!
the LFA is a supercar, the GT-R is a nissan.
Yeah because 0-60 in 2.7 seconds means nothing because it's a Nissan.? Go take a shit
The LFA is a Toyota, whats your point?
The LFA is a supercar, an instrument of incredible precision and a piece of exquisite exotica.
The GT-R is a rocket.
It depends on your preference.
Art in motion. One of the most over engineered cars on the planet. Japan's gift to gear heads around the world. I had the pleasure of filming one on the interstate in Miami. It's everything you think it is.
Just further goes to show that Nissan out did the competition, the GT-R outperforms, and it's a beast...
Wow! Never knew Yamaha is the engine’s mastermind!
The lfa is more so a masterpiece of how well developed Japanese motors has come! It was truly to show the word how technologically advanced a car can be, and that just so happens to come with a price !
cant believe 14 years later, those 2 cars still amazing, lfa arguable still the best sound
0:25 carbon fibahh
Love the LFA ❤️ my favorite Japanese car ever!
Ten years late and I'm still here for the LFA sound two dreamcars right there it was closer than I thought it would be👍
I honestly hold both of these examples in the highest echelon of car making and to us car enthusiasts as the best in their segments, one for collecting(LFA kept new is fetching a million plus) and one for daily driving as I still see 1st gen on road, both are supreme.
Cool cars. But some things that I don't like about the gtr is how it looks. It does not look like a sports car and looks like a tank. And the other thing is how quiet it is compared to other supercars. But overall they are impressive cars.
I love both cars, and both cars have amazing history.
This video is a modern classic now. The clash of Japan's finest supercars of 2010.
i vote LFA
WHY?
i like the fact that its RWD. also it's pristine and sexy, whereas legendary nissan looks like an awkward contraption. s13 looks better than nissan gtr, everything looks better than gtr
Even bulgarian sin r1?
omg.... when Japanes make sport cars...
They make masterpieces of sports cars. The LFA speaks for itself. The GTR beat almost every single supercar in production, which made everyone have to completely redo their cars to compete.
FireBlade agreed GT-R turns soo aggressive, but LFA is the best JDM car there is!
2010 GTR vs a 2012 LFA? Seriously? They couldn't go out and "rent" a 2012 GTR or borrow a 2012? put of two of the same year models head to head and you'd see a diff result.

Absolutely the both are a Masterpiece from Japan as usual....they never fails to suprise the World XD 🇯🇵🔥
Love the LFA... but the GTR would kill it on curvy roads.
Probably but the LFA would be more enjoyable :)
J.D. Vision look at it, its #7 with street tires on a very famous track
This is the video that got the LFA as my favorite car.
The LFA would also keep pulling on the GTR all the way to its 202 MPH. The redline is sick!
One of the best sounding cars ever but at that price point, the car under performs
The 2 best Sounding Cars in one Video. A Masterpiece❤️
Its orgasmic..lol
Even if the GTR beat the LFA, wouldn't have changed what the LFA is capable of
That V10😍
This car is amazing, especially for people who own it right now because it is gonna go up and up in value
“Doesn’t matter if you win by a inch or a mile, winning is winning” - Dom Torreto
That LFA Sound 🙌🏼😌
#Goosebumps
The LFA is definitely a classic now.
2020 LFA is priceless & turns head like crazy
Great cars, but I'd definitely go with the LFA. If I have enough money to buy one of those cars, money isn't an object. I like the exclusivity of the LFA. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE a GT-R, but as a Toyota fan, my heart belongs with the LFA. They are both great cars!!!
I agree if money was no object I would go LFA, but I would consider buying two Ferrari 458's for the price of one LFA, thats a good 'value' LOL.
Sheena Morley Ehhh I'm not a fan of those cars, but that's just me. Why would you get two of the same car though?
Judson Dunaway-Barlow I would buy a ferrari-red one and a white:)
You know it's the perfect car when the sound of it turns you on.
The LFA was iconic when it debuted..... very rare occurrence. The exhaust note is legit, like music.
GT-R still wins. That car is simply a masterpiece. I really recommend fans to watch the documentary here on youtube.
Of course it does! think about it this way: you pay a max of 120k$ and get a car that is one inch behind a 400k$ car! by spending 50K$ more on you GT-R you can easily turn it into a truly unbeatable car!
