That pinch harmonic at the end. So badass. Dude, you’re becoming my favorite TH-cam guitarist to watch. Note choice and phrasing is so different and you have a style all your own. 🤘🏻
@@jessefildesmusicI always dreamed of having a blackie clapton strat, since I heard those vintage tones, but just can't afford, I own a player in the same colour config maple with the black ebony strat, it's a very great guitar, I feel with the right everything and setting's I can get such decency from the instrument. A blackie would cost like the price of more then ten player stratocasters.
I bought this guitar in polar white this week. Boy how I’ve missed a strat! I did a lot of research before this purchase including comparing the performer and professional models. However the player beats them to the post where value for money was concerned and man I haven’t regretted my decision. This guitar plays and sounds wonderful, it exceeds my expectations. And more! Can’t go wrong for the price and clearly stands up to some of the bigger models out there..: why spend more money!
I didn't know until I got it home that position 2 is inner bridge and middle pu... thinking about modding mine to just split the bridge to bridge side pick up...
That twang is about a juicy as a mango pineapple smoothie in the hands of a steaming hot momma chillin in the shade of a palm tree on a beach. Heck yeah boi
Great test - appreciate hearing some proper high gain tones at the end. I'm toying with the idea of grabbing a Strat again to supplement my 7 string metal machine and give me something different, but still thoroughly capable of the chugs. Out of the box, this thing is already sounding pretty promising!
I own 3 Player Plus Top Stratocaster HSS’s and I couldn’t be happier! They are gorgeous! The quality of MIM Fenders has greatly improved over the years almost rivaling American made guitars. I also own 3 other MIM Strats and they are great too! I am no longer a MIM snob!
I've just bought a buttercream SSS and couldn't be happier. The new Alnico pickups are a serious step up from the older standard series ceramics, which weren't bad, just a bit hotter and warmer than the "classic" strat sound. To put it another way, Fender have really upped their game on the Mexican stuff. My only minor gripe is the bridge saddle screws, they are really uncomfortable and will either need to be replaced or grinded down. I recently had a 50's classic vibe with the same style bent steel saddles and no issues with sharp protruding screws. Fender can can get it right on a Squier but not on a Fender - that's not on. Other than that, it's a lovely guitar and I would recommend it to anyone - go through the usual steps of getting a good setup, saddles, minor nut adjustments etc. and it's a guitar for life if you want it to be.
I just bought the Fender Plus Top Player Strat, Blue Burst with 22 Frets. I was really hesitant on buying another electric guitar, but I'm seriously happy with my choice because of how Perfect the playability of the guitar is, mixed with some really nice tone options, AND the finish is sick. Nice playing 🔥
Scott Conger well it’s just on the other side of the border from Southern California , might as well say it’s made in America , very same company , and wood and parts I’m sure . Just saying
Now they're almost $700 American dollars and very worth it..the players Strats are basically a reissue of the old American standard Strats....Brilliant!
Gasping for breath* I come from the future. They are $849 ($899 for the one in the video) and we are due for another price hike- price hike- price hike…
Anthony yes i bought it but SSS and have no idea how it is wired, decent guitar but no better than any of my Asian made guitars, epiphone, PRS or yamaha revstar
How stable is the trem bridge on these? My American Standard is pretty good. Wild slack string stuff of course puts it out of tune, but not terribly so. Just looking for some mild rockin' dips and subtle dives.
One of the best chops, phrasing and tone on youtube, and I spend an unhealthy amount of time watching guitar vids 🤣 is there a particular reason why you didn't toy with the single coils during the high gain stage though?
Matthew Lillis i have a Jackson js12 but I’m getting a hss strat so I can do Kurt Cobain (about as close I’ll get without spending $$$ on a fender jaguar)
Nice playing, but didn t you put on a noise gate or so ? Are the pick ups so noisy ? Thanks ...I m about to buy it ,still my SX strat pick ups doesn t buzz like that 🙄
Great review, using some bloody gain! God it's frustrating when reviews don't do that. I'm also a lot more confident in my maple fretboard now, it sounds awesome, I was a little worried at first that it changed the tone too much from what I was used to but I believe it was the placebo effect 😄
I have the SSS version absolutely in love with it, my only things to nitpick were the saddles I was forever breaking strings and I use elixirs, and I find the whammy bar seems too thin for the hole and I find kind of loose when playing
I haven’t noticed string breakage to be a problem (yet) but yes the whammy bar can be a bit loose. You can try using some plumbers tape on the thread, that might help
@@jessefildesmusic Yeah a mate suggested a small spring with the trem bar from a ball point pen. The string thing I have had the guitar since November, it's been my number 1 gigging guitar and was always break the A string, seems better now that I've changed the saddles and gone back to 11-49s
I''m a Fender lover....one of my best liked was the HM Strat...but for the moment I own a 1983 JV Vintage series, old but still fighting. Good the ham with the tube screamer but a split switch is needed...Greetings from Genoa and keep on rocking....by the way you are Irish??
Great demo. Curious your thoughts on if the humbucker sounds hotter in the room compared to the neck pickup? Do you notice a change in volume switching back and forth between neck and bridge?
So Can someone help me about select HSS or SSS. Is that worth buy HSS to take more overdriven tones ? I watch many videos and lots of people says “dont lose the original strat bridge sounds, you can take with singles bridge lots of tones of rock and metal but cant take traditional clean with HSS” so what dou you think ? I am open all of thinks and ı wıll make my decision. Thx
The problem with older Strats was the single coil bridge pickup was too ice-picky to be a lot of use for many and didn't have any tone control. The Humbucker gave it more versatility and usefulness. However the new Player series Strat now has a tone control for the bridge so not so much of a problem anymore either SSS or HSS. Many would argue that the Humbucker still has more versatility although still a move away from that authentic Strat sound. Not sure that,s relevant as these are now Alnico 5 pups and a step away anyway.
The classic strat sound is neck & middle pickup anyway. I don't think you're losing anything with a HSS. To get a classic fender neck single coil sound i would recommend a telecaster

I love the bridge and middle pickup combination. It has like a squeaky attribute to it. Same thing for the neck and middle pickup

That's what a strat review should be about: letting the guitar do the talking.
Do agree bro
Agreed
Yup
I wish all reviewers had a setup rig solely for demo purposes. That way the only variable across all reviews is the guitar.

One of the best chops, phrasing and tone on youtube, and I spend an unhealthy amount of time watching guitar vids 🤣 is there a particular reason why you didn't toy with the single coils during the high gain stage though?
Probably because there would be too much noise or it just straight up sounded bad having single coils with so much gain

Strat is The blues guitar. And can do everything else in my opinion
Anyway its my preferance for sure

Strat sounds wicked with a humbucker

The front two pickups are single coils so it will depend on your setup, where you are sitting etc as to how much noise you get. A noise gate will help

Hi just got this guitar. Did u experience any hum noise at the bridge pup when activating distortion or even compressor?
Hello, Should I buy Fender Player FLOYD ROSE or 2 POINT TREMOLO strat? I am confused between these 2 bridge configuration...

@Con Myth Thats not a Fender Player as being discussed here, but great sound and playing although will almost certain have different pick ups.

The "strat sound" is that neck pickup. You really not losing much by turning the bridge into a humbucker.
The classic strat sound is neck & middle pickup anyway. I don't think you're losing anything with a HSS. To get a classic fender neck single coil sound i would recommend a telecaster
How is the humbucker balanced compared to the single coil. Is it much louder?
Should I buy Rosewood/Pau Ferro or Maple Fretboard in Fender Player?
Maybe I missed it man but how does that trem feel? Does the arm have any wobble in it?
How good does it stay in tune
