    Interesting discussion, very valid points raised, suggestions are given are also good. I want to mention that population growth also becomes a political issue because in a democracy you count heads not the quality of head. Growth rate imbalance across different communities may cause unrest. So respective state govt may give extra incentives for family planning to those communities where the education level is low, social pressure is high.
    India should start exporting trained youth for jobs, Special policies should be made regarding this.

    Everyone is saying education is the best way to control population... But to provide quality education you need to have population control .. resources are not unlimited ...
    As one panelist said we have huge man power , youth .. no doubt but too much anything is not good as well ... We need population control especially in few states like up Bihar where fertility rate is above 3 ...

    Summary-
    India does not need forceful measures to control population. TFR of the nation has already approached 2.18 which is very close to replacement level of fertility (2.1). State measures to control population artificially can lead to labour shortage and other economic concerns as witnessed from China’s reversal of two child policy.
    However, demographic dividend is only an opportunity, not an achievement. Goal should be to have a population which is healthy, literate and prosperous. Hence, converting demographic dividend to human resource should be the priority. Government has already taken range of initiatives in this direction including Skill India, Make in India, National Education Policy and Ayushman Bharat to name a few.
    So areas that need improvement are gender parity in higher education and pay scale. Son-meta preference phenomenon should be checked on priority basis. Rural to urban migration should be absorbed more effectively by increasing avenues for employment in urban areas. Replication of MGNREGA model in urban regions can be a step forward. Hence, to build Swarnima bharat, we need to go beyond population stabilisation and focus on building empowered human resource.

    For every argument or idea there are pros n cons. We generally choose to go vth it if it has gud percent of pros. In this particular topic(population explosion) its 50:50, but in every panel discussion, we nly hear about pros, even the best minds try so hard to B politically correct wen it comes to this topic. People need to talk briefly about cons too. How fair is it to ask an inefficient state machinery to provide a sustainable livelihood n employment to 1.5 billion people in a tech driven world, ohk its next to impossible but there is hope, but with lack of a Gud policy in the near future we will touch 2billion or more, wat then.

  • @bhattu9508

    Things looks so ambitious but they only provided one side of the picture completely ignored the negative aspects of over population, its true that female education helps in population control but for BIMARU states and special community require law to conrol birth rate and Population of 135+ crore and increasing population catering their needs puts immense pressure on resources and environmental degradation and States like Kerala and Tamilnadu facing negative growth in population and looming threat of 2026 Delimitation commision
    so in conclusion India needs 2 child policy to sustain socially, environmentally, economically and politicall for Integrity of India.
    Jai Bharatam

    From a diff perspective its damn clear that we r disrupting the natural order of this world, we Ve grown n developed so much we can control or predict nature itself. I agree using state power is nt a viable solution but wen people do not make a conscious decission or do not want to in sum cases, wat choice do we Ve. For suppose how a middle or low income couple would B able to provide for 4 to 6kids, if u say state shud help them, isn't it draining of state resources where it is already too scarce. If literacy is the major problem, fyn state can carry out drives to educate em. What if there was an agenda which is driven by some malicious individuals, no community shud b blamed precisely, wolves are all around us n everywer. I strongly feel the human race is exceeding its limit, its fyn if we live like tribal communities, but if we want to live luxuriously inside concrete structures n expensive cars, we better b careful.

    • @johnnygarg9723
      @johnnygarg9723 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go back to tribal world 🤣 well that can't happen now. We are made addicted to capitalism and now it is tough to go reverse. Everyone is running after money without caring for resources.
      I think world needs to take Gandhian socialism seriously. What you think?

    • @peddintilokesh4616
      @peddintilokesh4616 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnygarg9723 not necessarily our tech progress might slow down coz of socialism, all I want to say is experts in a way r encouraging to Ve more, by nly talking about the pros of demography, but there are equal num of cons too. They are trying soo hard to B politically correct. Even the stats r flawed wen they cite the 2.1num. States like Sikkim even vth a rate of 5% won't add much compared to bihar or UP vth 1%(but in reality Sikkim 1.1,bihar around 3)They cite d stats of high income states n say everything is ohk. Its almost next to impossible to provide employment to the present population how can achieve tat wen we r 2 billion, where the entire world is tech driven n not labour intensive anymore. We will reach 2billion no matter wat, we Ve lost the initiative long back, as they say we need to educate our youth better n give em a chance to look for better prospects elsewer in the world. There won't b enough space, opportunity or resources in the country at tat time.

    • @johnnygarg9723
      @johnnygarg9723 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peddintilokesh4616
      I agree with you demography has more cons than dividents.
      But other nations will pick the cream among us and that will again become the brain drain syndrome.
      India needs to work on two strategies parallerlly one to motivate states with surplus population to adopt family planning and 2nd to encourage ageing states to maintain TFR. (As the expert has sighted)
      We are highly becoming dependent on cities that also needed a check. We have to start avenues in the rural areas too to balance the situation. Organic agriculture, handlooms, food processing industry , rural tourism these thing can be a help if marketed well.
