I show you how to write the conclusion for task 2 of TOEFL Writing if you want to get a high TOEFL score. Spoiler: You must do more than just answering the question. Throughout the video I give you TIPS for writing the conclusion of your TOEFL essay that helped me score 30 in TOEFL Writing. In the independent task in TOEFL Writing you have to write an essay. This essay should consist of an introduction, a body paragraph, and a conclusion. It is important that your TOEFL essay has the right structure and that you address important points because this will get you a high TOEFL Writing score. Regarding the conclusion this means two things. First, the conclusion of your independent essay should contain all the elements that are necessary to finally convince the reader of your opinion. Second, your conclusion should have an appropriate structure. I show you how you can write a conclusion that will get you a high TOEFL Writing score. Practice writing the conclusion several times to succeed in your TOEFL essay!

1) WHAT SHOULD YOU WRITE ABOUT?
Remember, in the last videos you set out your thesis in the introduction and you provided reasons and examples in the body paragraph of your TOEFL independent essay. What should you write about in your conclusion? You may now think: that is totally clear, I must answer the question by stating my opinion about the matter. You are right, but this is not the only thing. It is very important that you do not only write one sentence stating your opinion. The conclusion of your TOEFL essay is your final chance to convince the reader that you are right. By merely stating your opinion you do not make your conclusion as convincing as it should be. You must do more! This is your chance to show ETS that you deserve a high score for the TOEFL Writing task 2.
2) STRUCTURE
To make your conclusion convincing and thus boost your TOEFL Writing score you must use a specific structure: first, you need to restate your thesis, and second, you must restate the reasons you provided in the body of your TOEFL essay. The reader has come a long way down from your introduction over your body paragraph to the conclusion. He knows what your point of view is, but he may not exactly remember your thesis. Give him the possibility to think about your thesis again. After all, now he is aware of your reasons for your thesis and can therefore think about your thesis more thoroughly. The reasons which you have given and explained in the body paragraph directly support your thesis. State them again right after you have restated your thesis. Your conclusion should be a short summary of your TOEFL independent essay. This makes your conclusion convincing and will result in a high TOEFL Writing score.
3) EXAMPLE
In the video we do an example together. I show you how you can write a conclusion that will get you a high score in the TOEFL Writing task 2. When writing the conclusion of your TOEFL essay always remember to paraphrase the information and to use linking words. For example, you must indicate that you are writing the conclusion of your TOEFL essay. Therefore, you should start the last paragraph with an expression such as “In conclusion,…” or a similar expression. Using linking words gives the conclusion of your TOEFL essay a clear structure and demonstrates that you have a broad range of vocabulary. This will get you a high TOEFL Writing score because that is what ETS is looking for.

Hi Juva. I love this video. I completely agree that you need to restate the thesis statement. Have you heard the expression: Say it, say it again, and say what you said...as an essay structure? Also, what do you think about the idea of leaving the reader with a new idea or insight to think about? Do you mind if I share a link to my recent blog post here about TOEFL writing tips?
Hi Anne, I'm so glad you like the video :). That's correct, it's important to restate the thesis in the conclusion. In my TOEFL essay, I did not introduce a new idea in my conclusion. Regarding the link, thanks for asking, I would kindly like to ask you not to post links here. No worries Ahmad, you can do this. I'd recommend practicing speaking at home so that you get used to it. Check out the free ETS practice tests, they give you a great insight into the kind of topics in TOEFL Speaking :).
Hi Juva, I would like to ask you that is it better to write a long essay for both tasks as it is told in ETS that an effective essay might between 150-225 words for Integrated writing and minimum 300 words for Independent writing
Hi, the word count given in the TOEFL is a minimum requirement. I'd recommend writing at least a bit more.

@@juva if each school making physical education mandatory , it will be good for adult and children students as well , and will solve a lot of society's health problems ,i completely agree with the statement for three reasons
first , i think the physical exercises has considerable advantages for Children's bodies for example, that it has the ability to protect children's bodies from chances of infections
and provide children's bodies with Strength and toughness , plus, reducing the possibility of bones pain or osteoporosis. encouraging the childrenes to do morning exercises every day and put it in them lifestyle in order to get prosperity future for them , in my experience when i was a kid , my body was really thin and wreak , my mom insisted that i must take some exercises every morning , in turn,
i managed to get healthier body ,
second is in my opinion that a healthy mind in a healthy body if schools will be applying physical education in his classes the students will become more focus in them class , i would to add that will be unleash to them mind to thinking out of the box and increaseing rate of an intellectual of them thus increasing of the success in them future,
three is if you be an adult or a teenager it really hard to found any time to make some an exercise especially if you are in high school there are a lot of lessons and massive of projects in order to managed to graduate ,to be honest , i was in a same situation , when i was in high school i was studying for 10 hours , so i didn't have any free timd to do exercise or even walk in my small gardens but my school was doing that instead me , we was every day standing and taking some exercises with a some contemplation for 15 minute ,we was feeling as light as feathers .
to sum up , to my mind i sense that insert the physical education Within the school curriculum absolutely all students will benefit from all sides (them bodies , mind and health) we can get healthier society with level mental up , i wish all schools make such decision

Hi Davide! The TOEFL Home Edition test is exactly the same test that you get in the test center. So this video refers to the writing section in the TOEFL as you would see it in the test center and in the TOEFL Home Edition.

Dear madam, according to you, we should write our conclusion in both thesis and again in conclusion part at the end. Which means we should replicate our conclusion in the text ? When we replicate didn't they deduct our marks?
Hi, you should restate your thesis in your conclusion, but you should do so using different words. Make sure that you paraphrase your thesis because otherwise you will lose points.

Are there any chance to toefl company to find out those templates and feed them in to their systems and deduct our marks due to plagarsm? Therefore using those templates as it is considerably affect for us ? I'm so confused. I don't have much time but I'm not fluent in english
@@ow307 I understand your concern. I always recommend this: Take the template and if you are concerned this may happen or if you don't like the words I use personalize it. This template is not fixed, you can always use synonyms to express the same idea. Hope this helps :)
