Yeah man tell me about it. I'm 1000% born again Christian, former atheist/spiritualist of 34yrs and alot of condemned things in the bible Catholics do and catholicism is littered with paganism and occultism. Hopefully you can see that one day friend. Until then GOD bless you.

@@djirate052380 The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ in AD 33. We have the largest database of sins. What is your point? Catholics are sinners? I'm 1000% born from above and life again. Life again? Never forget the words of Christ "he had life again" in the Prodigal Son. Any gospel that teaches that a person can go from death to life but not life to death is a false gospel. Do you have life again? Or do you presume that you have never committed a serious sin in our decadent world?

What he ordered sounded like something a child might order from Burger King. It made me think that Edward just wanted this one last simple pleasure from a more innocent, happier time of his life before he dies, and the demon didn't miss the chance to get this one extra bit of torment in on him.

We are definitely in a spiritual war. I went on a Priest discernment retreat a few years ago and I opened myself up to the possibility God could be calling me to be a priest or anything really I just said God your will is what I will do whatever you want me to do I will do. Immediately after this demons started attacking me now sure I don't physically see them but I can definitely fell their presence especially when I am tempted to sin. Unfortunately as a result I have fallen into addiction but I have really started to take the scriptures more seriously and God has sent people in my life to get me out of this blackhole and eventually I will be out and I just want everyone to know that God is good he can change your life you just have to have faith. And to whoever reads this comment may God bless your soul and know this you are not alone.

My heart broke for Edward - I had to leave for the execution scene (I was crying in the lobby & somebody asked me if I was ok, lol.) It inspired compassion for Edward in a *big* way. *"There but for the grace of God go I."* All the devil needs is to get a claw tip into us -any one of us can be taken down - *nobody* is immune. St Pope JP II knew this - and the saintly man went to confession WEEKLY. IMPORTANT: Every sacramental confession is a mini exorcism. Stay close to Jesus & the Sacraments 🙏

Edward being so emotional is what made the movie pull at your heart strings. Him being to the point of torment that he can't keep it together and he sees death coming and all he wants is peace and safety at this point. He knows where he's going and he wants more time. His portrayal lingered with me for days and make me want to weep. People all over deal with this torment all the time. It fills you with compassion for those in torment. We battle not against flesh and blood.

@BoyKagome That's usually the demons downfall...their pride. What I meant was, as is going in prevelently all over the world, evil in its most sinister form creates avenues of destruction and harm, disguised as pleasure, power, prosperity, etc...then they just sit back entertained at where we humans take it... and never think we are actually battling the powers of darkness.... just the corrupted and disgusting nature of the "id" within every human... the seed of self that can only be removed by the blood and power and mercy and grace of God through Christ. Eventually through demons rear their ugly heads when they don't get enough attention.... or something scares them. My point was, try to convince the masses that they need to fight demons to end all wars, pedophilia, horrors and ateocities committed for greed, etc. Most just don't get it, or accept it, even when the truth is revealed... kind of like the dude doing the interviewing... how much did it take to convince him he was fighting Legion, and not just conversing with an overly mentally damaged man?

Much of it validated what I already knew, have read, and listened to about how demons operate and the state of the world it’s in currently and why, his desires, his pleasures, his dislikes, etc. If you aren’t exactly sure how demons truly think or operate, this movie will hit you at your core. Definitely not an “R” rated movie however, it has a couple of scenes that are disturbing (I was in tears). A must see film for all, no matter the religion. It’s a movie that is 100% spiritually factual, eye opening, and encouraging. If you see this film and think it was well worth your time, please leave a positive review on the usual sites like Rotten Tomatoes etc.
Currently on RT, it has received a 33% score from reviewers but an audience score of 97%.
The public is hungry for the message of the film but the establishment critics' view is that "it lacks subtlety, the expressed views of the demon are clearly a mouthpiece for the filmmakers". They even slam the casting which is ridiculous.
With their poison pens, they want as few people as possible to see this movie.
I'd say that it is the reviews themselves that lack subtlety. A couple more: "The film's heavy-handed and bogus message tells us that Hollywood is immoral because it acts to corrupt its viewer's minds." and "The only thing not covered in this Christo-fascist manifesto of a movie is “guns.” These are laughable reviews, their own extreme bias and agenda are screaming from the rooftops.
I enjoyed one positive review that says, " Nefarious is interesting enough to give it a watch. Just leave prejudice behind and enjoy the possession take they're going for."
The Wiki page is a slam piece, mentioning the negative critic reviews and parroting the establishment reviews. They make no mention of the general audience giving this film an overwhelmingly positive 97% approval and enjoyment rating.
So please do what you can to give this film its proper due and justice.

This movie is an outstanding portrayal of the Spiritual War for our souls, moreover, it's the best I've ever seen regarding an accurate picture of that War against Powers and Principalities! Absolutely riveting is an understatement! The lead actor, Flanery, deserves an Oscar for his performance. You wouldn't think that a movie with just two principals talking to each other throughout would be that gripping, but this one is unforgettable, and they complemented each other well! Nefarious is a morality play where you see the truth of the demonic at work endlessly for our souls! If this doesn't give you a wakeup call that the devil and hell exist, nothing will! I can't recommend it highly enough! You won't ever forget it, of that be assured, as it addresses the evil of our time in terms of the sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance like no other movie I've ever seen! Its warning is "Don't ever let your guard down" as satan prowls the world for the ruin of our souls till we draw our last breath!

The R rating resulted from what happened to a finger (not the middle finger, and it wasn't cut off), but they increased the rating based on that. In some sense, it helps the movie fit the rating that one would expect for non-religious audiences. But it was thought to have been given to keep Christians from wanting to watch it, since plenty of PG-13 films get by with at least as much as this film had in it. LifeSiteNews has a great video with the makers of the film. They point out many things that got in the way of producing the film, including things that clearly seemed like spiritually-caused things. [Added later, I tried to avoid spoilers, but comments made to my comment include spoilers.]]

Ads are technically propaganda, as a company attempts to propagate their products and/or services. Thus, if MPAA wants to be consistent, they must make all movie previews so they are rated R. But since you can't have previews rated higher than the feature movie, then movies for children would get zero previews or ads. But they wouldn't want to be that consistent.

Yeah, if there was one shortcoming of the movie, is it painted a picture that Edward was simply lost with 0 hope(even with the barber mentioning he could still ask for forgiveness but then writing him off as the demon was still in control), but that feels more like a limitation of being a movie where as the book to expand more into how Edward opened himself to the demon.

Catholic priests are false mediators. Bishops and popes are fale apostles. The Catholic mass is blasphemous. And the Catholic gospel is NOT the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is a false gospel through and through.

About time that satanic genres got some Christian attention.
The horror junkies and obsessives will HATE any Christian content, any gospel insights that reveal demonic activity.
Clearly the makers of the film are aware of the powers and principalities that run the entertainment industry . So this film will be hated and trashed by all the right people.
The evil appeasers and suppliers will hate all this. So we followers of Jesus must support the creators of this film.
Looking forward to it coming to the UK....my God, we need its message.

Exactly, people need to become very aware of the reality of the ongoing battle being waged in the Heavenly realms and in the earth. Between Heaven and Hell. And it being over mankind. Also, to understand that mankind is not without hope or help but that the crown of glory does rest on their heads and turn to Jesus and the Catholic Church, which is and has been the universal church with an unbroken lineage back to St.Peter. The Church where not even the gates of Hell shall not prevail. Lucifer, knowing the end is near is has his legions full force , just look around. As they say, " It's getting real."
We don't know when , but the pressure is building, and it's going to explode, and that'll be it. I will continuously pray it will be on the right side we find ourselves when it does.

I was in my twenties and saw and felt the many sorrows of it as I tried my best to live as a devote Catholic. The devil's worse weapon is to conquer by division in all areas of our life.....family, politics, faith, etc. The results are painful to the point of death if one does not know God's Love, Joy and Peace. This is not an ordinary horror film. This is what is actually taking place, not the story here per se , but the truth of the battle between Heaven and Hell over the souls of mankind definitely is. Since the beginning, when man was presented to be his favored above all his creations and Lucifer, in his pride, rejected the idea vehemently, leading to his rebellion and enlisting other angels to his side ,found themselves cast out of heaven. He seeks vengeance against God by trying to destroy mankind. If people only knew the reality of the battle and the final end of evil in eternal damnation and with those flagrantly dismissed God's warning time and again throughout human history, I would certainly encourage people to watch it. You don't need to understand electricity for it to kill you. Likewise evil, you don't need to understand it ,but know it's present and it will seek ,devour, and destroy. A simple story can or will take the blinders off.

Excellent job reviewing this movie! Another thing that I liked about the movie is that Dr. Martin's possession by the demon only happened because Dr. Martin actually invited the demon to inhabit him. A wonderful moment in the film. I loved the interview segment at the end of the picture and thought the performance was great. However, I thought the Cameo appearance somewhat takes the audience out of film. I think another established actor might have maintained the fourth wall a little better. This is not a criticism of the performance. I thought he did a great job. It's funny, it's often said that we shouldn't discuss religion or politics. In my opinion, those are the two things that may be most important to discuss.

I’ve always been afraid of horror movies but I used to just watch it for the thrill but after being saved I don’t anymore. But nefarious I had to watch it with my husband. A lot of it seemed all too familiar. I used to struggle with demonization. I used to have overwhelming tormenting thoughts that were too much to handle. The demons always overwhelmed my mind with pain, sexual perversion, hatred, suicide, self harm and a lot more. I became a born again Christian and got baptized by the Holy Spirit. But I still struggled with demons still in my head. It was when I started seeking God that the Lord started giving me spiritual warfare dreams. It would start small from praying over a house to literally seeing a demon and to delivering people. What’s crazy is that I didn’t know about deliverance and that Jesus did it. I watched Derek prince and come to know more and more. And then I was led to Isaiah Saldivar’s TH-cam channel. At this point the more I knew the more it started to make sense of what I was going through. I knew I wasn’t crazy! I was demonized. My husband eventually started to understand deliverance and stepped out of faith to do deliverance on me. He started praying over me and demons started manifesting. They hated it and yes they mentioned their name, Legion. There were many that came out of me. The feeling I can only describe is as if something was being ripped out my soul/body. I remember toward the end, i was very exhausted almost like I was going to die but I was able to catch my breathe. Oh boy, do I praise God! He delivered me! I was able to speak what was on my mind! My mind was CLEAR! I felt lighter! From that day on I wish everyone would go through deliverance bc it’s real! The spiritual warfare is real. But so few Christian’s believe in it! God is Spirit! We have the authority to crush the devil! Jesus paid for it all and stole the keys back from Hell! Jesus is the Victory!

I think my ex-fiancé was tormented in the same way you were, just from how you describe your thoughts. I tried to get him help, but it became too dangerous. He was acting irrational, and lashing out in anger and strong mood swings. He had a secret drug problem and porn addiction… but he would dream he was in a spiritual battle and that evil was trying to get him, and he was trying to close a portal to hell that was opened with witchcraft. He said something about a lot of black birds, one that would talk… it was creepy.
He went away to a monastery for a few days, and was given some Holy water. When he got home, he sprinkled it around the room. His cat started acting funny, so he sprinkled a little on the cat, and the cat went nuts! Started running frantic around the room, got the door open, ran downstairs, through the living room, and jumped out the open window!!! It had never done that before, never went through the window!
Something must have been associated/affixed to the cat!
I had to break ties with him. I didn’t feel safe. I pray for him, but when someone has bad anger issues, it can be dangerous. There is more, but I don’t want to share it. Please pray for all those afflicted, oppressed, and even possessed! 😭

What you experienced sounds like diabolic obsession. This is NOT possession, nor vexation (where demons take over your body, or where demons either attack you externally-physically, your finances, your home, family members, etc). Interior obsession comes from persistent thoughts and temptations that are more severe than ordinary temptations. They come as periodic episodes and are not explained by mental disorders (for instance, OCD). You can find out if you are being targeted for diabolic obsession by 1) asking the Holy Spirit to revealing it to you, or 2) see a Catholic exorcist, or 3) praying specifically to target the demon by Father Rippenger’s Latin Binding Prayer and naming the demon (depression, lust, suicide, etc.) and if you experience relief from it, you will know that yes, you are being attacked internally by a demon. Father Rippenger’s Deliverence book is so, so helpful for this.

Who was Edward but the devil himself gives us clues that he was an unbaptized child, that his grandmother gave him a ouija board and he started making bad decisions because the devil had more and more control over him, so I think we do know him better but by the words of the devil.

I felt like this movie had vibes similar to The Outfit. Both movies are mystery thrillers that take place in one location. In The Outfit, the whole movie takes place in the tailor’s shop and in Nefarious the whole movie takes place in the prison, specifically the interrogation room. Both movies focus on a mystery. In The Outfit the mystery is what was on that recording and in Nefarious the whole mystery is trying to figure out if the man is really possessed of just crazy or simply trying to appear crazy to get out of execution.
Another thing I liked about the movie Nefarious, is that despite the heavy themes, not a single character ever curses, not once did I hear a single curse word.

I’ve liked Sean Patrick Flanery ever since he played the antagonist in the underrated The Dead Zone tv series, he’s a phenomenal actor!

I can’t wait to see this and have indifferent hubby see this! A very good friend saw it and said every child 13 and older should be required to see this movie. I’m grateful to the producers and actors and all involved, including you, Keith, for the review. 🙏🏼

I cannot find anywhere to watch Nefarious in Australia. I wonder why even streaming is not available? I hope I will find a way to watch it. Any suggestion will be appreciated!

As a person that was raised Catholic and has drifted but still been interested in the subject matter from a distance, I really liked this movie. I went into it expecting some garbage because it's been painted as a horror movie, and basically, every single horror movie I've seen in the last few years has been absolute woke garbage (along with most media). So I was completely caught off guard by the movie's willingness to tell it like it is. The only gripe I had was the demon seemingly taking control of Willian at points where, imo, it would've been crueler to let William be in control, but that's about it.

I wish folks would just stop usng, resuing that word... woke. It is tearing our Country apart, pitting them against one another. I know that is not what Jesus wants for us.

Is that Mark Snow music in the background? Sounds like old school X Files.

What’s sad is not only is the Church standing by while the fire burns, some churches are singing campfire songs and making s’mores, thinking the fire will just burn itself out 😢

Singing campfire songs & making smores....I would LOL if it were not such a spot-on description of what is happening in Protestant and some Catholic churches today. I have found the Orthodox church to be a solid truth-speaking home for worship and salvation.
