This reminds me of when the chainsaw man trailer came out and that one guy spoiled the three biggest events in reply to every comment. There’s a special place in hell for him.
Don't get me wrong I understand where you're coming from. For example even though I tend to be a manga reader, part of the reason I haven't read JJK is because I'm pretty sure I already know pretty much everything that's happened because of the sheer ridiculous amount of spoilers, it seems like every time a chapter comes out people online have to talk about every important detail. That being said, what alternative do you propose to keep these things from being spoiled? Surely you can't expect a whole fandom to muzzle itself for in some cases several years to wait for the anime version to come out and if they did stay silent the manga could lose it's hype and consequentially it's support. To give an example of how long it takes I just looked it up and the Shibuya Incident Arc came out 4 years before it was adapted, and over a year before the anime even debuted at all. People aren't doing it out of malice after all, they just love the content they consume and are excited to share their love for it as a natural consequence. I personally don't spoil much if anything because I basically only talk to a small group of friends and am not too interested in social media, but it would seem like a lot to ask to expect every manga reader to keep all discussions in those small self contained groups. I would like to clarify I'm not trying to being combative, just curious about what you would propose as the solution to the problem you outlined.
Appreciate you trying to understand, and very clearly outlining your point of view. I naturally don't think everyone should be quiet about the things they love - that goes against everything my channel is built on - I just think there are ways to be considerate of others. TH-cam thumbnails and titles don't need to have the death of a character or a new reveal completely in focus and out in the open. Most social media sites like Twitter allow you to flag your posts, like blurring pictures before you click on them, and it's easy to write 'Chapter X Spoilers' at the start to warn people not to go ahead. I personally have uploaded a number of videos where I've discussed things that might spoil some people, but I think I've done a reasonable job of withholding that information until I've made clear what viewers should expect. It's not too hard to show consideration, and I think people should give it a try
That's me most of the time too. Just to be clear, my problem isn't people reading manga, it's people reading manga, then using that knowledge to diminish the viewing experience of others
I'm not one to really poo poo an anime like some manga purist (unless I just can't get past the art). But I will say I tend not to waste my time on an anime if I've already been reading the manga. I only have so much time so I don't need to be double-dipping. I'd rather watch something I've never read or, better yet, an original anime with no manga.
While I am a manga reader I tend to just keep to myself and enjoy my stories. I’m primarily a reader just because I find it hard to just sit and watch anything nowadays as I have games and other hobbies that take up my time. While with manga I can get a chapter in when I’m on the can or eating.
Nobody knows about Heavenly Delusion because it was on Disney +, it lacks flashy characters and has disturbing and dark mature themes that understandably aren't everyone's piece of cake. Also it doesn't have idols and there is a transexual character who makes people gay 😛. About the manga I find it great both because of the brilliant storytelling and the clarity that make the reading very smooth. You don't have the wow effect like "every panel is a masterpiece" but it's definitely the work of an experienced author who knows how to use stylization and synthesis to convey his story and in my opinion that's far more important than having great panels that look like medieval prints (even if I drool over them).
I didn't even know there was outrage about the 'transexual' character until I saw Scamboli Reviews' video on it. As for the manga, after reading through it, I penalized it not for its art or anything like that, but the exposition. I felt like the dialogue treated the audience like idiots at times and explained things that didn't need to be said (and took away the room for a reader to think for themselves). I don't by any means think it was bad, but I doubt I'd have ever thought to talk about it if it wasn't for the quality of the anime.
@@samuek607 fun fact: I learned about the hatred towards the manga in the comments on TH-cam when the anime came out. Since 2018 and still today both the specialized press and the manga-themed channels from my country (at least the ones who know about it) talk about the manga as one of the greatest between the mangas that are currently being published, and the only criticisms I ever read about were about the artstyle, that's why I kind of assumed that you didn't appreciate it even if you were talking about how the anime removed most of the exposition. Honestly I think that the anime did great (it's not a perfect adaptation but one of the most satisfying I've ever seed as a manga fan) and most of everything it did what anime should do: use animation to convey what the manga can't because of its intrinsic limits. Anyway I never found the dialogues in the manga to be in the way or out-of-character so I can't really relate with your criticism here, yet I understand how comparing it with the anime can make you form that opinion.
Spoilers can greatly diminish the enjoyment. I found out all about Makima because she was out on the villain tier list. Especially with jjk and Chainsaw man you can be watching something completely unrelated like a dog show or a contact lense review and see spoilers.
*I* read manga, just because I do, it doesn't mean I have the right to coat this video in spoilers start to end, or make a thumbnail and title that ruin an anime for someone with nothing they can do about it...
@@samuek607 not everybody watches the anime at the same time. Should they be mad at you for spoiling the show before they watch it? The source is the standard, once it's out talking about it is fair game
Idk man, don't follow fandoms, or just don't go on social, it rots your brain. Can't blame people who keep up with the source material. You only choose how you get spoiled
Manga always comes before the anime. So if anime watchers are just joining a fandom that’s been there long before they joined the band wagon - that’s on them I’m afraid. Suck it up or read the manga and catch up if you care that much about spoilers…
I read more manga that 99.9% of people, and I assure you, that's a misrepresentation of facts. No one reads most of these manga before they get anime adaptations because most people in the West haven't heard about them at all. Using the fact that the Manga was first to justify spoiling people is disingenuous because this is all coming from people who didn't read the Manga until the anime made it popular anyway.
It is a shame people judge an anime too much. I get if you don't like it, no need to force your thoughts on others. Anyway hopefully you have a better time Ken, and manage to avoid spoilers.

Heavenly Delusion isn't a fair example.
It was released as a Disney + exclusive (even in Japan), that's what killed it.
