      That’s a great idea! I️ always make a mason jar for our trips, adding a map & photo is a great idea- I️ usually put a little map (circle) under the rim in the top and write the date on it.

    I'm a little late to the party, but my husband and I are using this in our vow renewal we're doing something along the lines of firefighter themed kind of. (He's been a firefighter for 13 years so far) these will be centerpieces and later gifts for everyone on the department who would want one. Thank you for this video. I looked for ages for a good video.

    Very cool. I was wondering if printed things would stand up to the decopauge. I just did my first napkin decoupage yesterday. I bought the only floral napkins in my tiny town. Next town is hour drive away. I print on vellum for other projects. Wondering if I can print flowers and do this. Or paper. I guess I can experiment!

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Brad Jackson I would say yes, but make sure your acrylic paint sits 24 hours to cure. If you can seal the paint with a clear matte acrylic spray paint, even better. I would be afraid your paint would come off and flake into your mod Podge otherwise. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

      The ink may spread when you add the Mod Podge to the top. It also may be difficult to get the edges to stay down b/c of the thickness of the photo paper. However, I'd say give it a try!! Just have some patients and I'm sure you could get it to work :)

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jonna Mae McIntyre I would not recommend photo paper. It is too thick and has a coating. The Mod Podge seals much better when it can penetrate into the paper on both the front and back. I used regular printer paper. I also used matte Mod Podge for this project, but you can use gloss if that's the look you are going for. Best wishes with your project!

    • @TheDailyDIYer

      You can use regular photos; however it may take many coats to get it to stay down b/c the paper is so thick and the glue can't penetrate through the photo. The thinner copy paper seems to work well though.

      I'm so sorry if you took that as me being rude. I didn't mean it that way at all. I really did enjoy your video. This audio problem happens with a lot of other videos too.

      The Daily DIYer nah they right the audio is off. the music is too loud and it's a blast to the ears because it's a drastic difference. you are using on camera mic and not a studio set so when you just add prerecorded music without adjusting the levels there is a a big difference.

      Same thing happened to me... the video is very low and then all the sudden.. BAM! The music blew me outta my chair. I had to keep stopping and moving it up to where I thought it would be back on the video and then barely audible again. Otherwise... very good video.

      +K I would not recommend washing. Mod Podge is water based

    Music too loud, can't hear you speak, can't see your project... 🙄

    WOULD THIS TECHNIQUE BE SAFE ON A GLASS CANDLE?

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mayfadez14 Let me know if you tried this! I'd say, worth a shot! As long as the glue stays clear of the top rim where the flame might reach. That could turn into a fire hazard, but wondering if the warmth of the wax would melt the Mod Podge? Like I said, let me know if you tried this, I'd love to know how it went!

    are u able to wash this without photo coming off?

      If you seal the jar with a resin or a thick clear coat you should be able to wash it lightly. The Mod Podge alone will wash off though.
