Thank you for showing the three. I have never done this but am doing a project for my granddaughters for Christmas and was going to buy mod podge. Now I know I can use Elmer’s glue. Thank you again!
Finally, a photo transfer that I can actually do without the muss and fuss! I wish I had seen this a long time ago! Thank you so much! I'm saving this tutorial for my next project. You did a great job! 🤩👍

That was interesting. I have never seen anyone apply PVC or the other products to just one side. That looks like a fun project. Thank you for inspiring this Homeschooling grandmother.
Hi, i've just tried using PVA with inkjet pic on a stone, Unfortunately it didn't work the image rubbed off. I am looking forward to trying again on a different surface. Thankyou enjoyed the video a lot.
Thank you for doing this video. I’ve been meaning to try pva glue for a while now. You’d be surprised that hardly anyone has tried using it. Considering a lot of people say Mod Podge is a watered down pva, not sure if that’s true though. All the best and success in writing your new book. Lots of love.
Great video!!! Did you have any issues of the wood grains cracking/splitting when water was applied? Is it best to seal the wood before transferring the image?
Not at all, never experienced such an issue. As far as sealing, I usually prefer to seal it all when the piece is ready (mainly because some transfer methods don't work as well over certain sealers, like glossy acrylic sealers).
Given that the base of both Mod Podge and Elmer's are primarily made of PVA, I would have actually expected this result. Since the Elmer's tends to be slightly watered down from most of the higher end PVAs used in book binding, and Mod Podge is thinner/runnier yet, this also meshes well with your results. (it should be noted that both Elmer's and Plaid add things to their PVA base to create a proprietary formula... It is generally those additives that can result in yellowing and other changes over time)
Interesting! I was searching, trying to find out if Mod Podge is a PVA glue but couldn't find a straight answer. So thank you so much for this informative comment 🙏🥰
Yup it is basically same and I’m glad to be reading this here online about time! Mod lodge as a brand is expensive here in Australia so I just water down pva as needed when I make things with paper and even now I’m using PVA with sequins for Xmas decos
Nice! I wondering if to buy Mod Podge, bcuz everybody seems to use it for all sorts of things. So I decided to see if there was a short video out here for differences & your video was short enough & very helpful! Bcuz I don't even know very much about glues & crafting... I just have always used school glue for everything most of my life when it comes to need glue outside of Crazy glue or Wood glue... And so thanks!😉
Shocked by the Elmer’s! I used to ( years ago) use mod Podge image transfer medium. I’m not sure if they make it anymore. Congratulations on the new book 👏🎊💕.
modge podge matte works better than gloss but super cool the pva which is more expensive worked so well. Never thought of elmers cheap and easy thank you
WAW😱 a new book, like the sound of that... good luck 🤞. Did some transfers before was always told to put glue on both sides but your method worked just fine and it saves glue 🤪 thx
True, and also spreading anything on the inkjet itself might smear the ink. Thank you Reni, I'm very excited about the new book, can't wait to see it published, but on the other hand enjoying the process so much! 🥰
It was fun to see the different results using the same photo with different types of glues. I want try using PVC glue on a photo transfer, the results looked great.
My guess is that it would yield pretty much the same results on most surfaces. I find that for glass transfer matte medium works the best. And you can seal it with a clear varnish or clear spray finish.
If you coat your laser printed picture with mod podge 3 times letting it dry in between each time then coat whatever with a layer then lay dried photo on top ink/3 layers mod podge side into new layer and yes has to dry overnight but it really comes out incredible. Never had luck with one layer on mod podge. But looks like original with 3 layers before the 1 layer you attach it with to canvas, wood, or whatever type surface then 2 layers on afterwards. Looks crisp and bright and as original. Also you have to use laser prints not inkjet or will smear, and seal with clear spray paint, I like gloss for best results. But glue is fine but if you add too much water to the paper backing it turns to mush and smears, where once mod podge is dry it won't get soluble again, and I can't seem to get off the backing without doing that with glue.
Wondering...when you said you use this process to make cards. So, do you just use the same process and put the photo on a card or piece of water color paper or what I would normally use to make a card. I'd love to see you demonstrate how you make a card. Thank you. this was my first time seeing your video and I enjoyed watching and will return. Judith

Just an FYI: Elmer's is actually PVA glue. PVA stands for polyvinyl acetate, which is a vinyl polymer and a type of thermoplastic.
I love it when you say mod podge
