Exhaust work on the labour side is relatively affordable compared to other parts of a car. $280 for nice work done by local people that do that all day for a living is good value. Also, if there's any problems with fit, seal, welds, leakage etc you know their work is guaranteed and they'll fix it without you having to fart around with it. Great how the new set up gives you better access to work on things underneath. Nice sounding set up! Little Sarah is right - the turbo spool in that sound is GREAT! It's sounds "beefy" in it's resonance now instead of "fart pipe". Love it! Go Team Tater Tot!
Also I like how independent you are. I’m totally the same way I hate asking for help doing stuff on my Jeep so I always end up doing stuff alone and it’s frustrating sometimes but also really rewarding and fulfilling once you get a job done and knowing that you did that shit all by yourself and don’t need NOBODY! Haha
I agree about making it fast, not just sounding fast. I run across lots of young guys with their loud tuner cars and leave them in the dust with my stock vehicle. Loud doesn't necessarily mean horsepower.

I just bought a mk1 TT and need new o2 sensors and was thinking about getting a new exhaust put on. Its funny, my new car has a lot of the same problems yours does. Im not looking forward to doing the timing belt and coolant pump. Keep up the great videos :)
Timing belt and water pump is part of general maintenance every 80,000km or 5 years in $1200.00 in OZ dollars , just did mine , had no other issues in 3 years except for the dash pod pixel drop out which i live with . Love the Mk 1 TT looks , still turns heads .

$850 parts and labor for it to be done at a shop would be a really good deal around here, even if that's in addition to whatever normal maintenance at the time. Honestly, $1200 isn't far off from what a lot of shops would be.

Those guys do nice work. The TT sounds really good too. What’s your reasoning for painting the exhaust? Looks? Protection? Looks good either way. That first gen Firebird was sweet but I really liked that 65 or 66 Biscayne cause my first car was a 66 Biscayne. It was straight six powered with a 2 speed powerglide. Fast it certainly was not lol. Gone are the days when the River Rouge plant brought in train car loads of raw materials and sent out whole cars. The original rear panel would look better imho - it'd contrast with those sexy new tips. The black kinda hides them... Will you be recovering the seats yourself? I predict many views on the 'Sarah does leather' episode. 😉😆
Let me ask you, do you have the same size tires on the TT both front and rear? The reason I’m asking is that I got a slightly mismatched set of tires for my A4 3.0 Quattro. I thought I was buying (4) Pirelli 245/45/16 P700 ZR tires but after looking at them a few weeks after I got them home I found out that I had (2) 245/45/16’s and (2) 225/50/16’s. After some serious measuring of the tires, I found that the 225/50/16’s were 3/16” bigger diameter than the 245/45/16’s. I measured circumferences and found out that the 225/50/16’s were 3/8” larger circumference than the 245/45/16’s. While this is very little I’m afraid that the Quattro system would self destruct with this mismatch. Anyone’s thoughts??? These are Pirelli P700 ZR tires and quite expensive.
Nice. I am also in the 3" vibrant single resonator only 1.8t club. Now if you wanna be really obnoxious like me. Get a WOT box and shoot flames. The 6800 no lift 2-3 shift with a 3' blue flame out the back always brightens my night. It's about as loud as a 40sw pistol too.

I’m liking the TT content. I had a 225bhp Quattro many moons ago, which I thought had a max 155mph speed limiter. It didn’t; and my little Audi manged 160. Any thoughts on doing a max run in yours?

Probably a dumb question but for your exhaust do you just have the 2 resonators with no CAT and no muffler? Or did you keep the cat?

Ok, it is loud, sounds good and kinda slow, but even with top grade gas it has the best gas milage of any Porsche-wannabe car, ever made, and Quattro!
