That was wonderful, thank you! In my work as a hypnotherapist, any clients who are wanting to avoid using drugs or alcohol are amazed to find that using the breath and the mind together can elicit similar benefits without the downsides. It's not escapism - it's enhancement of life!

This is just very similar to hypnosis. It's all working through suggestion and self-suggestion. Hyperventilation induces a trance-like state. The rest of the experience is then up to interpreting the unconscious from the frame of intention. Similar to psychedelics.

      Hello
I'm a recovering schizophrenic who used to use psychedelics and really valued the experiences / states-of-mind they provided. I have only used psychedelics once in like two years now. I always think about whether I could use them again. Is the technique shown in this video a safe-ish way for me to return to the Psychedelic space, would you say?
      Peace

I tried it and did get the DMT type feeling after 3 rounds and passed out and hit my face on the ground! Be very careful doing this breathing method and make sure you are surrounded by an army of pillows all around you or have someone around ready to catch you when you pass out.
This is very different than the wim hoff breathing that I do everyday, it's very powerful and I repeat be ready because you will pass out if done properly.
    I learned the hard way.

Hey, I have a question about this breathwork. I did it, and it was way more intense than wim as you said. I almost passed out but when I was in a different state of consciousness, my thoughts were scattered and paranoid. My intuition tells me it was too intense for me and I should go slower? I guess I’m wondering why I don’t feel warm and fuzzy when I’m getting high on breath.

    • @GoldenHeart-8
      @GoldenHeart-8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@eva.eva. I tried searching about it but no results. My take on it is it stimulates some energy pathway going upwards and if you do it right within a short time it takes you out of your body. What you experience as chaotic is just going through the messy unconscious mind jungle. Because of the lack on info around it and how it makes me feel I choose to only do it occasionally when I need a boost.

@@GoldenHeart-8 thank you , what a lovely response. I did it again today and it wasn’t as scary. I also tried just doing it cross legged so I’m not coming fully up and this was much more gentle. Lifting up is too intense.

Absolutely mind blowing , many years ago when I experimented with smoking despite being fit and active I made the comment that I thought part of the reason people get addicted is that it forces you to inhale and concentrate on your breathing. Now I believe this is true, it’s not so much a chemical addiction but a physical one and this and other breathing techniques could be used to stop smoking.

Russell, I hope you see this comment. I sincerely appreciate your “yes and” approach to acknowledging the scientific/rational understanding of this exercise. As a “man of science,” I often see this perspective dismissed, which makes one feel like they have to let go of something they aren’t ready to let go of. Your approach has let me consider things that I otherwise wouldn’t have considered.

I watched this recently and I can't express enough how this has not just helped me, but saved me. Not a plea for attention (though that makes it sound more like a possible plea for attention) but I've very seriously wanted to die for a very long time. I convinced myself that if God exists, (however you want to define god), he definitely hates me, and I've been addicted to drugs. Doing these exercises opened things in my mind that I didn't know I had the capacity for. For the first time, I feel a personal relationship with something. I just did it now though and had a pretty terrifying full psychedelic trip (lasted seconds but was intense, like I was panicking). Instantly, I've gotten over this work problem I had today and I feel compelled to apologize for something rather than being defensive. I'll comment this on here 'cause I thought she deserves to know stuff like this because I appreciate it
But yeah, this stuff is no joke

It was late at night and my mother helped me rush to the hospital. Please if you are attempting this breathing do it on your knees and in a bed. You will pass out and lose control over your body!!! Make this the top comment please it is very dangerous!!! I could have died seriously doing this. The breathing felt great but seriously you lose power over your body so it should be safe as long as your on your knees. Breath work preparation and intention is key! Set and setting! Doing it lying down. Or sitting in a comfortable position with pillows surrounding you. Never push yourself in the beginning , breathwork is about strengthening the connection between mind and body 🙏 many of us have become so disconnected from our own bodies -Listen to the body. Clear the mind and let go of all thought. Just feel. If something feels too much- pump the brakes and pause or slow down. Don’t push yourself until you’ve practiced and feel confident and ready for the next challenge. Breathwork is absolutely transformative and is truly about finding the self, through the self, with the self 🙏 don’t give up, stick with it- you will not be the same! ❤

I tried this technique of had a "Oh, that's too familiar!" Moment. I go into cardiac arrest about every two years and this is how it feels when I collapse/ wake up. Every time, I "arrive" at a grassy hill with a leafy, shady tree at the top. I read up on how powerful biochemical DMT is as a psychedelic and now I'm a little disappointed my brain is no more creative than "Here, grassy hill, calm the fuck down so I can restart your heart."

The first time I did it it literally felt like when they have given me too much Dilaudid in the hospital and you get a "rush". The other times after felt like I was going to faint but didn't. Shaky/tingly and your mind is fuzzy. I think this is an amazing technique to clear your head before a meditation. I read people saying it feels like an anxiety attack, it's funny because I feel like if I was having an anxiety be attack; this would help get me out of it and into my body

Weird. I found myself shaking my head involuntarily, and coming to. Same thing two times. Didn't black out, just kind of spaced out for 3 seconds and realized what i was doing. I wouldn't call it a high though 😅
I used to do a lot of Wim Hof and can attest to the breath work in a time of crisis thing. If ever i find myself in serious crisis, that's my go to medicine. It's like the mind turns off, and suddenly the body is allowed to release pent up emotions. And the after effect i would compare to having cuddled after a long time without touch, that oxytocin induced feeling of well being you get. But i really feel like the effect is very dependent on emotional stress, i don't do it daily like i used to because really it's a lot of work, and it's not the same when theres not so much to be "released".
The breath really is a wonderful thing. Strange that these phenomena are still mysteries to science.

Woahhhh this was so weird… at first I was skeptical because after 4 rounds it wasn’t working, but on the 5th round I completely blacked out and woke up seconds later, but in the few seconds I was unconscious I was traveling dimensions in my mind and reliving old memories. It was so weird. And the weirdest part was that while I was blacked out it felt like traveling dimensions was the most normal thing I could do. But when I gained consciousness I felt amazing. Part of the headache many of you are getting is when the eupohoric dmt is released according to Biet. It feels like you're going to die?
Oxygen levels in the brain are tweeked during this technique. Since so many people are saying they are getting headaches maybe you should contact Biet and ask her what that means. That it is a risk, I dont know.
Some comment of a person said they ended up in a different part of their room and didn't know how. Another said they were whispering on the way to touch the floor. I feel Wim Hof, considering comments here, is safer until you learn what this womans "spiritual" breathing technique is, I would be cautious. Pain in the head could signify spiritual work needed to be done or some something physically dangerous could be happening. Be safe and sure before trying it.

Unfortunately I didn't have a very nice experience trying this one... I tried it twice. Second time was worse. When I came down after the final breath hold I felt a huge painful pressure in my head, which took quite a while to subside. Seriously painful. I could definitly feel the desired effect in the background but the pain in my head completely overpowered it and was too painful to attempt to take it further.
My partner tried it before me and kind of passed out/convulsed on the floor with her eyes open. She came out of it laughing but tbh watching her convulse like that gave me a good scare.
I wish I knew why I seemed to get such a negative effect, as I was looking forward to experimenting with this technique. Assuming it has something to do with blood flow and pressure? I don't experience any pain when I do WHM.
Seemed to happen after my head come down..

Okay so I am sure many tried this. As a person who tried a similar technique I kinda understand. The one I used to do at school was u kneel down and start inhaling in sharp inhales and really short. I recommend doing only 30 sec but I did 1 min. Then u stand up, and put ur thumb in ur mouth and blow really hard without letting the air go out. PLEASE WARNING. Because I did it 1 min and fainted and hit my head. I am pretty a junkie BUT GUYS like really I was blacked out for I dunno 10 sec? I couldn’t remember anything and I really mean it!! I was horrified seeing my friend looking at me I was so confused it’s just like u traveled and came back with no memory. Please be careful and do it with a friend to catch you or do on your bed or any soft material beneath you. I tried this one and without standing up, I blacked out even faster and couldn’t remember like girl it works I just heard the people already talking abt smth else 10 sec after.
