I'm a Marine Biology Student and I love the ocean and watching this documentary made me cry. Plastic are now everywhere! If we want CHANGE then change must be start with our own footprints.

I saw this trailer in a school assembly and thought I'd watch the whole film and I'm so glad I did. I knew plastic was dumped into the ocean but I had no idea how bad it was! Definitely worth watching!
We believe that viewing these documentaries is the easiest way to spread the message and to inform all age groups.

Looks like a well done film building on and furthering needed public awareness. Unfortunately it seems to take an average of 30 years journalist reporting/documenting before public awareness is substantial enough to demand needed change. By then it will be too late unless we come up with a way to remove the plastics already in the ocean and stop adding to it. Worst are the developing countries whose people use the rivers and streams as their personal waste disposal system with no thought or care of where their garbage is going as long as it goes. I fought this battle for two years while serving in the Peace Corps in the Philippines. It boggles my mind that these countries allowed development without garbage and sewage handling infrastructure
stop buying plastic. bring your own reusable bags and containers for shopping. check out Cowspiracy for the other (and biggest) elephant in the room. If we claim to be environmentalist we have to stop eating meat as well.

Glass sinks. It's comes from sand and returns to sand. Plastic floats and looks like food to wildlife.
and glass doesn't get swept around by currents and is easier to clean up

Jawn it doesn't matter that glass doesn't biodegrade. The problem is that plastic is absolutely not compatible with any life mechanism on the biosphere. Glass on the other hand does not bio-accumulate and it can be metabolize.
We need hemp, it is biodegradable and can be used for so many things.

When I see these pictures I'm feeling mad. It is so terrible how many tons of plastic are in the oceans. I think we all have to make a change and we shouldn't use plastic. I know it's difficult but we have to try it. Please think about it.

Actually 40 people now 41 hate the f'n idea that you need to pay to rent or buy this "movie". Why the f*** do they think people are going to pay to watch this? They need to make this free so people actually want to watch and share this. If you have to pay to watch it so many less people will do so. If they really want to help they will stop trying to be greedy as f*** and make this damn documentary free so people can open there eyes. NOBODY wants to pay to be told they are wrong or that their lifestyle is causing harm.

When we will be sensitive towards this earth and other innocent living thing? Are we born to just enjoy and exploit or will think to contribute to this rare globe. Lets start a small initiative to say no to plastic as much as we can. That will be a great serve to this globe.

On the FREE DVD a label saying, (Watch it - Pass it). I’m by myself on this, no profit on my mind, I will pay for everything. However, I can’t do it because the DVD is licensed…. It's good to show this, but this clip is so mild compared to the real problem. Try visiting a beach in Philippines during the windy season, which is now, early December. The plastic that gets blown in is much much worse than this shows.

+Alyssa LePaige Hi Alyssa, the first thing to do is to reduce single use plastics in our own lives. Always remember that plastic was designed to last a lifetime and beyond - so stop thinking it is disposable. You can’t just throw it away - there is no ‘away’.
Bring your own bag to the shops and choose fruit and vegetables that are not wrapped in plastic
Drink tap water and carry it in your own bottle
Don't buy body scrubs - those tiny beads are usually made of plastic
Use matches instead of 'disposable' lighters or use a refillable one
Don't use 'single use' plates, knives, forks etc. wash up after you eat.
Refuse plastic straws in your drinks - you learned to drink from a cup so many years ago.
If you can't find an alternative to single-use plastic, make sure you recycle it
Don’t celebrate with balloon releases, the chances are the balloons will land in the ocean, choking seabirds, turtles and marine mammals.
Use crystal deodorants - they last far longer, are more effective and some even come with no plastic packaging at all.
Use good old-fashioned soap - it works as well as liquid soap and lasts longer.
bamboo toothbrushes may be a good place to start.

After watching this documentary on Netflix there are some great research and no doubt we have a huge problem within our oceans. But there are some disadvantage research. I would had liked to see further research done comparing burning plastics vs Kerosene. In some parts this scientific research became easy because you targeted the Indigenous people, they are poor, vulnerable and uneducated. A shipping container that had fallen from a ship you need to put in perspective of the navigation of the ship, the currents of the sea, was there a storm, what is the rationale behind the fall. One of the crew picked up a bag immediately blame takes place without identifying the facts. Scientifics need to understand the transportation of exporting and importing goods across the sea on a global scale.
Today the world is fighting a pandemic can you scientists identify what type of shellfish coronavirus came from as this disease jumped from a seafood to human?.

I don t care if humans die from the damages they have caused but innocent animals die because of us and that’s so fucking horrible.. I don t know why people don t do something now. We can change something but cannot change it in the nearest future anymore. I m 16 now and I hope that we will not just find solutions but apply them ASAP!
