I’m 84 years of age and brought up in the thirties, forties, fifties’ when we had no plastic waste at all. All the rivers, streams, and beaches were all clean and free of plastic waste. The school I went to ( about 150 children) didn’t even have a garbage bin, just a small wooden box in case someone had something to throw away.
Who is to blame for all this plastic waste in the ocean and waterways? Let’s take fruit and vegetables for an example. The culprit is the grower, the distributor, and the seller. If they say they are concerned about plastic waste they are lying. They couldn’t care less. Scientists have shown videos of birds and fish and turtles etc dying by swallowing small pieces of plastic, yet the grower of oranges, apples, avocado, pears etc you name it, they stick billions of small plastic labels on their product. Most of these labels ends up down throats of fish, birds, and even children. Why don’t they use paper labels instead of plastic? Better still why use labels at all. For decades we purchased fruit and vegetables without labels stuck all over them and went through the checkout no trouble. Why put plastic garters on bunches of bananas. Surely there is no need for that. And why pack and sell 3 potatoes in a plastic container. These are just a few things that cause plastic waste. There are hundreds of items that could be sold without using plastic packaging.

      1. Many Production Companies Which We Do Not Need Actually For Human Beings Has To Be Stopped
We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution. So if we minimise our products, pollution would be less.
We produce so many things which we do not need, like cold drinks, leather products, potato wafers, chips, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc.
Cold drinks, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc. should be cooked at home only. If we stopped producing this things which are not required for humans, so much pollution could be reduced.
If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in white natural colour.
      2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form
We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops.
But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads.
So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world.
Also we could save our money like this. If you buy a packet of bread, it would cost you more money than if you cook wheat and rice in home.
Previously before industrial revolution, we didn't have technology, but our foods were rich with nutrients. Now we have technology, but our foods are not rich with nutrients.
If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own.
Food, Medicines, Surgeries and Education's should be made free to the world till the world settles down with farming. After that food, medicines, surgeries and education's should be stopped free to the world.
Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming.
Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also pollution would decrease. Humans have to take this step certainly instead of going on polluting the earth, making wildlife extinct and also mass extinctions of humans in future.
      3. Electricity Pollution
We create electricity from many types of sources like coal, water, etc., but it creates pollution. If electricity created from windmill and solar energy then no pollution occurs in the creation process. But still to manufacture windmill and solar machines pollution would occur.
As I previously said that if we shut down many manufacturing companies which are producing things which are not needed for humans, then the world would not require so much electricity. If less electricity required, then less pollution generated.
      4. Could We Stop Drinking Cow's and Buffalo's Milk
Whatever vitamins and nutrients we get from milk, if we can get it from other eatable things, then we can stop drinking cow's and buffalo's milk. As milk has to be packed in glass bottles and plastic packs and then transported to places. All of this can be stopped.
For infants whose mother's have died or mother's who cannot breast feed their infants, only for them cow's and buffalo's milk should be given. We use milk in tea and coffee. Instead of milk we must use lime with tea and coffee or just plain tea and coffee. A lime should be cut into a few pieces and cooked with tea and coffee or something else can be used instead of lime.

There is a huge difference between someone who acts out of compassion and someone who acts out of survival.

Too many people.... Nor epeople means more demand upon the resources, food production, employment and as a result more pollution.... Less people is the elephant in the room. Less people is answer to these issues. Those calling out overpopulation and the scientists who agree are ridiculed and called racists/bigots. I suspect that 40 years from now when the planet is dying and theres not enough food/water for the people of the western states and their Liberal ideologies, the historians will view them the same way as the climate activists in the early 1970s are viewed now.
I'll be long gone by 2040 so enjoy the plastic water and burning fields - on the upside you'll be able to watch love Island on your mobile anywhere in the world..

That message should be translated into every language for people to hear it everywhere. And not escape the responsibility as consumers, wherever they live - supporting plastic-free businesses is key to helping to overcome these problems. If bottling and packaging companies sign contracts with producers of biodegradable 'plastic', the entire chain will lose the burden of plastic recycling. And it is a problem to litter the ocean because even if there is biodegradable plastic, they may end up choking animals too.
Responsible consumption includes responsible treatment of waste - worldwide. It's easiest beginning with the end users of products - every one of us can compost and buy less plastic and bring their reusable bags when shopping, instead of taking supermarket bags each time. Right now the economy has slowed down so it allows for planning. People can plan for plastic-free shopping easily.

This is the hardest challenge we have faced yet. No body decides to pollute, they decide on what they can afford. Don't let this video make you feel guilty. Instead let it help you understand that you are not expected to do it all on your own. We are working together to phase out plastic. All it takes is that initial decision to say "I will start to try".

"No body decides to pollute, they decide on what they can afford" no some people do actually live unnecessary wasteful lives, fast fashion is a great example. And generally just buying stuff on impulse because you got tempted. Others actually use only what they need and it varies what options they have. I think we all (who can afford it) are wasteful with buying habits once in a while (for some often), but it needs to be kept rare and one must learn to say no to some of the things one want, but dont actually need. And tolerate things being a little bit worn without changing it out instantly.

In my school's cafeteria they almost always used metal trays, cups and cutlery. Although sometimes they would use the plastic version of those (I really dont know why, I suppose sometimes they were lazy to wash everything) that's just a small example on how a simple change can get rid of tons of trash everyday.
For every day we used the metal trays, cutlery and cups, we stopped about 1600 single use plastic items from being thrown out.

I'm sure that the realization of the massive amount of plastic in the ocean, and its severe impact on polluting the marine ecosystem and causing the death of numerous life forms, was eye-opening. It highlighted the urgent need for action to protect our oceans. The magnitude of the problem made me realize that we have a significant responsibility to address this issue and safeguard the health and vitality of our oceans. It prompted me to educate myself further on the detrimental effects of plastic pollution and to actively seek ways to reduce my own plastic consumption and waste. Additionally, I became motivated to support organizations and initiatives focused on ocean conservation and participate in beach clean-ups to directly contribute to the preservation of our oceanic environment. I am confident that with collective efforts and a heightened awareness, we can make a positive impact and ensure a healthier future for our oceans and the countless species that depend on them.

It is a very interesting video that talks about environmental pollution and specifically water pollution. Which means a very relevant topic nowadays, because thousands of species are dying because of this bad education that we humans have of not throwing away the garbage instead.
Many times animals do not know how to differentiate these types of objects and they end up eating them, or simply hurting themselves with them, which has led to their death.
Also accidents of ships at sea, which throw chemicals and mainly CO2 and is a serious problem.
Because of this, the issue of acid rain arose, which is annihilating the marine species, and not only that, but also human diseases.
I’m hope that this problem will change.

It may not have been plastics, but I was raised in a part of the United States where river pollution was common in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1948 was the first major U.S. law to address water pollution.
