    That might have been me I've done it both ways multiple times but usually I only film when I drop the filter into a bucket and where all oil all over my face.

    Ty, I make a mess every time I change oil & filters. Try as I may I just can't complete the task without oil dry, a wad of shop towels and brake clean. For the first time yesterday I started to poor new oil in without installing the drain plug. I'm not getting better, I'm getting worse. After 40 years you would think I'd have it figured out by now. Maybe it's red tractors. Green tractor guys never seen to complain. Wait, wait- OLF and Tim make their fair share of messes so colour doesn't help. " Keep your stick on the ice, we're all in this together." Red Green. HaHaHaHa. Keep in touch. doug

    It is a nice tractor. I ran a 9230 but could never get use to the steering. I was use to running 7150 and 7240 with MFWD.

    Great tip on the oil fiilter

  • @bigjim5723
    @bigjim5723 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    when i had my own truck, i made up a 3 ft long metal pick, lay on the ground, and use a 2 lb hammer to punch hole in bottom of oil filter, had my catch basin underneath, that way not a drop dropped on me. learned the hard way -way to many times till i got fed up with be covered in oil splash. lol.

    Check your freon level in your A/C There is a safety switch in th line so th compressor clutch won't kick in if it's to low.

    • @Northern_Farmer

  • @htcooley04
    @htcooley04 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Some have a safety feature if the system is low on refrigerant they won't kick on to protect the compressor from running dry and burning up

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea... If i remeber corect this pump had a bad seal

  • @Dan.Whiteford
    @Dan.Whiteford 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was delighted for you just how quickly it fired up after a long stand. Could the radiator core be possibly be plugged to some extent? Have you done the air filters (engine and cab) and what about the final drive oils? Do you ever change the axle and transmission oils? What grease does it need?

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dan Whiteford the radiator is clear...they say after so many years the antifreeze can go bad and then you have plugged cores...so rad flush it is

    @deanbrown4512 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cranked well for cold weather. Do you put additive to fuel to keep from gelling. I was a gm mechanic for 30 plus years , I. Knocked holes in filters when possible made cleaner job. You are so busy, seems more than most farmers.

    Good day. Boy I had a good laugh when I heard you swear at Fred or Barney? How much oil does the engine hold Anyways don't get to mad at the cats, they seem to be your friend. Thanks. waiting for you to start cultivating.

    It is your low pressure switch in not getting power to compressor check for power there or your temp switch is not letting power to compressor power comes from switch to low pressure to compressor check that

  • @ih1206
    @ih1206 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ah that oil is just rust prevention haha. I hate making a mess like that. What are the good and bad points on these tractors? We seen a 9150 really cheap not to far from us. It's plenty big for us, but cheap horsepower is always a plus to have around.

  • @dehavenfamilyfarm
    @dehavenfamilyfarm 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    A quick paint job and that tractor would be practically new!!

    Those filter placements looks freaking aggravating. They had all the space in the world to mount them wherever and they chose next to the frame and surrounded by hoses.....

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well its not cummins fault really.... Case could have done a little mods but they just kept the same dimentions from steiger

    • @JCLawn51
      @JCLawn51 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Northern farmer no it is not. The worst one looks to be the hydro filter. Just a pet peeve of mine as why manufacturers don't think of these things. Especially when the equipment is so expensive.

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Hydro filter is actually the easiest... you just go under the tractor to do it... the oil filter is the hardest because of the hoses and lines and frame beside it.

  • @oldironfarming5804
    @oldironfarming5804 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bypass the low pressure sensor for your AC. Almost looks like you have a leak at the compressor there it looks wet behind the clutch. If the system is low the compressor clutch wont kick in.

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      But when I put my gauge on it the pressure is high

    • @oldironfarming5804
      @oldironfarming5804 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you have for pressure?

  • @geraldropcean5989
    @geraldropcean5989 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Low pressure switch might be not letting powe to compressor or your low on 135 freon buy kit at to recharge your ac

    • @Northern_Farmer
      @Northern_Farmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its recharged.. first thing I did was check that... the pressure is normal.
