if they can encourage to add stops while driver is only getting $0.12 or less a min ,,,why nor also raise the rate for the driver to at least $1 per minute while waiting?? then they can take their time and we won`t mind waiting because it will feel like we would still be driving anyways.... most never take 3 min, is usually longer!

Drivers hate 2 stop rides. And passengers know this. That’s why they add the 2nd stop after they get in. First they ask if you can do it for free. Then they add it if you say no. Then they leave a bag or a person in the car at the stop so they can take their sweet time

On my phone the plus sign does not show up when i make the ride. I can only add a stop after a ride is booked.
I think the address bar is too long on my phone and the plus sign is pished off screen.

As a driver am I getting paid for those extra stops? 3 minutes can add up. What happens if the rider doesn't come back after 5 minutes? Am I able to end the ride?

mohammedih25 yes, you are paid for every minute of the ride, stops honestly aren’t great for drivers, it would be nice if Uber/Lyft charged something like $1 per stop
And if the passenger is taking too long, it’s totally up to you, but you could cancel if you feel it merits that

Anne Liu Update your APP to the latest version. Also, if you are on a shared ride- i.e. Lyft Line or Uber Pool, this feature is not available-you cannot alter a shared ride in any way ( this includes adding stops)

problem is most riders won`t say anything and the driver`s app does not either until you get there ,seems like or they want to add stops while in the car ,,, what if they take longer than 3 min? because for me, if they take longer than 5 min , I will complete the drop off and move on!.... we do not make money just sitting in the car!!.... 2 extra stops means 6 min or more wasted multiply that by just 7 riders in a day and you can easily loose an hour of your time ...I think this encourages more abuse to the driver!

As a driver I have been providing this unnecessary feture for years.
Her's how it works...
Passengers get in your vehicle, and ask if the driver can make an extra stop or two to drop off various passengers at their place of abode, hotel, whatever.
Driver says yes, no problem, and proceeds to destination number 1.
When the driver gets there he/she asks passengers to change the destination, and then the vehicle heads toward the final, or second destination.
Uber's new feature is actually more complicated for the drivers, as the driver has to confirm the drop off at each stop before proceeding.
Uber, please stop with adding all the unnecessary and unwanted app features, the hype, and the flowery language, and platitudes, and simply do what ALL drivers want, namely raise the rates.
