So many enthusiastic remarks! I feel the same. My mom or dad would rub Vicks on my chest and put a white flannel towel around it. Worked like a charm. Vicks can heal small cuts, chapped lips, rough hands. Every medicine cabinet should have a jar.
Works for cold sores and warts, too! The camphor in Vick’s is also the same ingredient in Campho-Phenique, a medicine made for cold sores. It dries them up, and alleviates the itching and tingling. As far as the warts, just dab some Vaporub on the wart every day, cover it with a bandage, and it will be gone in a week or so (depending on the size of the wart).
I learned in Nursing School, to always carry a small jar in my pocket. Before doing something that you know will be unpleasant, put some under your nose. Makes bedpan cleaning, dressing changes, and other stinky jobs easier, and less smelly

My husband would wash his feet with Ivory soap. Thoroughly dry his feet and then rub Vicks into the fungus. The nurse said this worked better than any of the other medicines. Took about 6 months.

I've always heard how well Vucks works. It got rid of the fungus on my toenails and fingernails. My mother-in-law used it for headaches and she always carried a small jar in her pocket.

As I understand it, most of Vicks VapoRub is Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline). Petroleum Jelly can be used to keep away insects - I used it to keep fleas off me a few years ago by rubbing some on my body, the fumes generated by body heat keeps them away. I also used it to clear up skin fungal infections. The camphor and other stuff in VapoRub probably helps with the other things mentioned in the video.
I ran out of vaseline last week for slugging and had no option but to reach out for Vicks. Little did I know that it has petrolatum, as the ingredients listed didn't mention it. I use Vicks to keep away cold sores. Whenever I feel like I'm getting cold sore, I applied Vicks to my lips, and it stops the outbreak, but you must use it before you get the outbreak.
I put it on the bottom edge of my bedroom door when my grandma's female dog was in heat. Calmed my male dog down instantly. He's fixed now but at the time it was a relief cause he was going crazy to get to her.

I used Vick’s on a really deep 2nd degree sunburn and it took the heat and pain away. It took months for the purple burns to fade away, but the pain and soreness were gone within a week.

Growing up my parents used this for every cold, flu, cough, etc.. From rubbing it on your chest & neck to under each nostril, but the most effective when battling a bad cold with fever & chills, etc, my Mom (she was also an RN) would slather Vicks on our feet then pull on warm cotton socks (out of the dryer, ahhh!) then a a 2nd pair if big fuzzy socks! I swear we called it the "Cure" and it really works, still use it to this day. I always have a Big Jar of Vicks in my medicine cabinet. Always use immediately after a shower. Right after drying face with a towel. While skin is still damp. I do put it almost to the lower lashes, but not quite. It'll make my eyes water if I get too close. I don't put it below the eyebrows or on the upper eyelid. Or the lips. But the rest of the face, yes. Under the jaw and down the neck, too. I use Vicks, just plain old Vicks for RLS--Restless Leg Syndrome. That is a condition when you are awakened from sleep with leg twitches. The funny thing is where the Vicks is applied--you rub a small amount on the instep of each foot, and then put sox on and go back to sleep. It works right away, every time.
Thanks for mentioning RLS. I've been having leg muscle twitches nightly lately. Was sure I was getting Parkinson's. Hadn't even thought of RLS as being the possible problem! What a relief. i’m a big fan of vicks, but just recently found out that when you have a toothache putting vicks on my check and under my chin relieved my pain. it amazes me what vicks can act do. i also have RA and if and when i have a flare up i always use vicks.

someone suggested rubbing it under the feet, putting on socks for a nagging cough. It did actually work. I hope it helps someone out there. Nagging coughs are ever so annoying!
It also CURES ECZEMA and PSORIASIS! I had eczema so bad my hands were bleeding. Out of desperation I began rubbing in Vicks Vaporub twice a day. In about two weeks, the eczema was completely gone and it hasn't returned, after about 10 years.
I’m 53 and I also was taught by my aunt and uncle to eat some Vick’s for sore throats, etc. I did it for years. My mom saw me doing it once (in my teens) and freaked out. She said, “I know we live by this stuff but we don’t eat it.” I never thought about it like that before then stopped out of fear. Lol. But it’s still a staple in my home now. Yes Vicks will remove the visible signs of toenail fungus, but it may return, mine did. My toenail came loose from the toe, except at the very base, and all the cruft was gone. After I discontinued treatment the toenail reattached so I did not lose it but within a few weeks the signs of the fungus had returned. I have since heard that I should have continued the vicks application until the toenail fell off and let a new one form but unfortunately I have more than one infected toenail and I wasn't sure that toenails would grow back under that condition and I wasn't sure what the implications were of missing toenails.

Growing up my parents used this for every cold, flu, cough, etc.. From rubbing it on your chest & neck to under each nostril, but the most effective when battling a bad cold with fever & chills, etc, my Mom (she was also an RN) would slather Vicks on our feet then pull on warm cotton socks (out of the dryer, ahhh!) then a a 2nd pair if big fuzzy socks! I swear we called it the "Cure" and it really works, still use it to this day. I always have a Big Jar of Vicks in my medicine cabinet. It doesn't surprise me that its got so many more hacks, its the miracle rub! 🛀🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Haven't rubbed it on my head for headache, but I do put it inside my nose. Breathing in the strong aroma stops my headache.
I am using Vick’s for toe nail fungus and it seems to be working. The new growth is clear pink like it should be.
So I need to cut my nail low then use it?

It erases wrinkles, too. Yep, it tightens the skin. It's a fantastic moisturizer, too. I've been using it for years. And received many compliments on my skin. Who'd have thought!?

@@thequeenmyselfgrace9788 I get a little dab on my finger and dot it around my face. Then rub in like a moisturizer. If there's too much I wipe it off with a tissue. Always use immediately after a shower. Right after drying face with a towel. While skin is still damp. I do put it almost to the lower lashes, but not quite. It'll make my eyes water if I get too close. I don't put it below the eyebrows or on the upper eyelid. Or the lips. But the rest of the face, yes. Under the jaw and down the neck, too. The smell fades quickly. No one ever knew I wore it to work. They just said my skin looked great.

Love Vicks have used it for years basically for respiratory problems I will have to try some of these tips.
I use this on my kids when they are sick of cold.I rub on their soles and wear socks overnight and they sleep so well.Also rub on their chest.Its a miracle rub.

Try making them eat a teaspoon of it to. It’s just petroleum and menthol!! What could possibly be harmful about eating petroleum?

I use Vicks, just plain old Vicks for RLS--Restless Leg Syndrome. That is a condition when you are awakened from sleep with leg twitches. The funny thing is where the Vicks is applied--you rub a small amount on the instep of each foot, and then put sox on and go back to sleep. It works right away, every time.
Thanks for mentioning RLS. I've been having leg muscle twitches nightly lately. Was sure I was getting Parkinson's. Hadn't even thought of RLS as being the possible problem! What a relief. I'm going to try rubbing on the soles of my feet with sox on. I have a feeling this will help! Thanks for posting.👍

i’m a big fan of vicks, but just recently found out that when you have a toothache putting vicks on my check and under my chin relieved my pain. it amazes me what vicks can act do. i also have RA and if and when i have a flare up i always use vicks.

It is a great deterrent for mosquito bites. I use it to keep those pesky bugs away. Rub on both sides of neck, wrists and ankles.

I used VapoRub for my self and my children 👶 I live in the US and especially Massachusetts is snow ❄️ a lot the place quick to get cold so because of that my that my house 🏡 always have VapoRub Are use VapoRub on my children 👶 and whenever they get cold 🥶 I rub their feet 🦶 body. when ever my daughter is coughing I put my finger in the vapor rub and put it down into her Mouth 👄 5 to 10 minutes is stopped right away, I never give my children medication when every they have cold 🥶 I always use vapor rub is good I love ❤️ it.
someone suggested rubbing it under the feet, putting on socks for a nagging cough. It did actually work. I hope it helps someone out there. Nagging coughs are ever so annoying!
It also CURES ECZEMA and PSORIASIS! I had eczema so bad my hands were bleeding. Out of desperation I began rubbing in Vicks Vaporub twice a day. In about two weeks, the eczema was completely gone and it hasn't returned, after about 10 years.

I’m 53 and I also was taught by my aunt and uncle to eat some Vick’s for sore throats, etc. I did it for years. My mom saw me doing it once (in my teens) and freaked out. She said, “I know we live by this stuff but we don’t eat it.” I never thought about it like that before then stopped out of fear. Lol. But it’s still a staple in my home now. I just never eat it nor did I teach my kids to. It’s great for a cough on your feet with socks at bedtime.

I replaced the lid with one of my spice lids and I pop it open just to sniff it when I have a headache.

I use to take care of an old lady who said when she was a girl they use to take a teaspoon of by mouth for a cold and cough.
I myself still put it on the bottom of my feet if I have a cough or cold.
My Mom used to put a tsp. in hot tea with lemon & cough drops for our chest colds & cough. 40+ years later & still alive to talk about it.

I am 70 years old. When I was a kid, if I got a cold or sore throat, my father used to give me a spoonful of Vicks to eat. Until about age 12, I had eaten MANY jars of Vicks for this purpose. It’s a miracle that I am still alive.
My husband is 53 & he did the same. My mom just smeared us all over the chest and put a wash rag over it before bed

For years doctors have told people they need laser surgery do to nail fungus I helped a lady years ago that had badly deformed fingernails due to bad fungus problems I had her apply it twice a day for a month and to her amazement, her fingernails transformed back to normal again without costly laser treatment the Vicks softens the nail and the menthol goes deep and kills the fungus!

I grew up with vicks and efficascent oil from the Philippines it's really effectives and you feel relaxed after you rub it in your body.

We in the uk also use vicks, my mum used it on me and my brothers if we had colds or flu. She would rub it on r chest. I also used to use it for my own kids. Didn't relise it had so many other uses lol. The headache one sounds to me like it would probably work a few sound as tho they might work lol. Yes Vicks will remove the visible signs of toenail fungus, but it may return, mine did. My toenail came loose from the toe, except at the very base, and all the cruft was gone. After I discontinued treatment the toenail reattached so I did not lose it but within a few weeks the signs of the fungus had returned. I have since heard that I should have continued the vicks application until the toenail fell off and let a new one form but unfortunately I have more than one infected toenail and I wasn't sure that toenails would grow back under that condition and I wasn't sure what the implications were of missing toenails.
Toenails will grow back because i got an infection once and toenail fell off and grew back as new, never got the infection again
