In another one of your videos you also suggested soaking your feet in Epsom salt for 15 minutes for two weeks in warm waster. I did that and my toenail fungus on both feet cleared up, and has never returned. In addition I put tea tree oil on my toe mail daily after taking a shower. Than you Dr. Berg.

My brother used this when he was younger. Also a detergent called biotex classic does miracles for toenail or feet fungus. When I was younger I had a fungus that didnt respond to regular anti fungus creams, I got it from my guinea pig, and I had to wash her with ivermectin. And this also finaly cleared up the fungus on my arm.

After trying for 2 years all sorts of stuff I got completely rid of my toenail fungus quickly thanks to a comment from someone on another Dr Berg video. WHat I did ; cut the nail short and file it a bit (on top) to make it porous. Clean any equipment you used intensly or throw it away. Make a small amount of paste by mixing baking soda and cream/oil (I used caster oil) Put the paste generous on toenail. Cover it with well with bandaid(s). Let is sit and do it's work. Repeat daily with fresh paste. Within 3 days my nail already looked different. Within 2 weeks the fungus was gone.

Wondering if the baking soda (a base product) was the better choice because of what Dr Berg said about the microbe favoring pH of 8?
I was wondering if a vinegar rinse would work? Not sure how deeply the vinegar could penetrate the nail.

@@ColemanRG Soak your toe in 100% white vinegar for at least 15 minutes. A simple rinse is not enough, you must immerse your toe completely and allow the vinegar time to do its job. Roughing up the nail as the commentor described is a good idea also. 👍
If you really want to get extreme, you can use bleach instead of white vinegar. But you may need to slightly dilute the bleach so as to avoid burning your skin. Also, you may not want to soak your toe as long if you choose to use bleach. Burning your skin from excessive exposure to the bleach mixture is a very real concern, so don't overdo it if you choose this method.

This is awesome. I watched a similar video you did a year ago. I carried out your steps. Every day I soaked with Epsom Salts. Then treated each affected toe (as well as unaffected for preventative to prevent spreading) with a drop or two of Iodine. I bought the White Iodine on Amazon and my nail fungus was gone in a couple months and not a year. After two months I was able to clip down the affected nail portions. The new nail just started growing right in. I now treat with Iodine every third week for 7 days as a preventative. Once again thank you for this channel as this cured something that the general consensus said cannot be cured without taking years.

Totally agree. People are busy so I can't blame them for not knowing the difference between (ineffective) topical-only oils or whatever, and actually taking steps to internally fight the source of the fungus.
Using topicals only is at best what I call a cosmetic solution. One might make the toes look better, but give it a week the fungus will be back.

Finally, Dr. Berg advised me to try tea-tree oil topically, WHICH WORKED!!! I had to keep using it for several weeks, but it did the job! • @PracticeTaiji
      @PracticeTaiji หลายเดือนก่อน +19

@@mrgotan I think the fungus had permeated the nail. It was all black, and started to spread to the next toe. The Tea-tree oil killed the fungus and the black color went away. But the nail itself became dry and dead over the next several months, and finally fell off as the new, healthy nail grew in. My suspicion is that the fungus had integrated with the nail, and when it died, it also weakened the cellular structure of the nail.

    Dr Berg notes:
Treating a fungal infection with medication can cause several side effects, including liver damage! Toenail fungus is often blamed on sweat and can cause other skin infections such as jock itch, athlete’s foot, beard infections, and even scalp infections.
When attempting to treat a fungal infection topically, the cream will not penetrate deep enough into the nail to kill the toenail fungus.
Toenail fungus can evade your immune system through several mechanisms, including growing slowly, suppressing T cells, and going dormant for long periods of time. The T. rubrum microbe that causes toenail fungus is resistant to UV radiation.
When your T cells are healthy and active, it forces this microbe into remission. A cooler, dry environment can also put it into a dormant state. A change in environment, such as pH, temperature, or moisture, can bring it out of remission.
A suppressed immune system is the leading cause of a toenail fungal infection. Stress, diabetes, obesity, antibiotics, and a vitamin D deficiency can suppress your immune system and cause toenail fungus to come out of remission.
Vitamin D is the most important nutrient for your immune function. Your toenails contain vitamin D receptors, but toenail fungus can downgrade them.
Toenail fungus prevention starts with a strong immune system and a hostile environment for toenail fungus. High amounts of vitamin D can help! Consider taking at least 25,000 IU of vitamin D daily to get rid of toenail fungus.
Vitamin D strengthens the immune system and addresses toenail fungus at the systemic level. Zinc pyrithione, breathable shoes, and proper foot hygiene can also aid in toenail fungus prevention.
    Thank you Dr Berg!

I was having a heck of time with fungus in one of my big toes. Somewhere, online, I read menthol worked. I had some Vicks VapoRub and rubbed it on my toe nail morning and night. It took about two months but I could see a big improvement. As you said, it stays dormant, so every now and then I see an area where, once again, fungus is taking hold. What I liked about this solution was that my nail didn't turn yellow like it did with the over the counter fungus treatments - which didn't work at all anyway. Also, the part about things growing on the bad meat. I bought pancake mix and didn't use if for maybe a year. So it was unopened. When I did go to use it, inside the sealed bag were flour weevels. So those bug eggs were in the flour.

I too have tried all the black magic and witch doctor remedies (turns out all that over-priced stuff at the drug store or online is simply oils available for a fraction of the cost). Here's my post, I am replying to you, do all this. It works. In three weeks of "soaking" every other day" my stubborn fungus is gone.
      ____________________
I watched the Doctor's other video on soaking the feet in Epsom salts and warm water, and using Povidone iodine or lavender oil on the affected area. I also take vitamin D3-K2 in gummy form. My fungus went away (or I guess it is dormant?).
To find his "epsom salt video" searching his videos for "toenail fungus" and it will turn up.
      Bonus Tips:
He says add two tablespoons of Epsom salt to two cups of warm water. Soak for 15 minutes. But here's how I do it:
I use half a cup of Epsom salt diluted and stirred into 4 cups of almost hot water. I place the plastic tub on an unused dog pee pad (to catch any water that splashes) While watching a movie or whatever I soak both feet for 30 to 45 minutes. (There is no hazard to doing this, Epsom salt is harmless to the skin.)
      But wait, there's more.
In that same video the Doctor says that after the soaking to add some iodine or lavender oil to the affected area. (I apply it to all the toes because I'm sure there's fungus I can't see.)
I bought both Povidone-Iodine and a pure extract lavender oil. After my feet are air dried I apply either iodine or the oil (I alternate each day.)
Regarding this video: daily I take his recommended D3-K2 vitamins. I buy my vitamins in gummy form so it is like having a little treat

-regular disinfect inside of shoes or wash sneakers,
-frequent visits to podologist to clear out all the fungus so a healthy nail can grow back.
-disinfect utensils every time you touch your nails
-apply alcohol after showers and weekly liquid medicine to keep this monster from coming back.

I tried different treatments but one day you spoke about clove oil killing fungus and bacteria so I started using that on it. I think it's cured but I am afraid to quit the clove oil treatment yet. I will up my Vitamin D and get some Zinc P cream. Thanks!

I filled a little spray bottle with 70% Isopropyl alcohol and applied nightly or after showering making sure to spray the alcohol under the toenail where the fungus lives. It worked well for me and the fungus is gone. I heard apple cider vinegar has the same effect but rubbing alcohol is odorless. I apply a light moisturizer if the toe starts to get dry. Nail fungus can also be picked up from manicure/pedicure techs that don't sterilize their tools.

I contracted a toenail fungus while I was pregnant and my immune system was suppressed. My husband had had the toenail fungus for a few years and could not get rid of it with just treating it topically. I was determined not to take medication, oral or topical, so I did a daily foot soak with apple cider vinegar, white vinegar, Epsom salt, and oregano and tea tree essential oils and cured my toenail fungus in a year. My husband had been doing the foot soak nightly too, but he did not use apple cider vinegar or the EOs and he quit doing the foot soak bc he did not think he was getting any results. Mine worked though!

I had my large toenail completely removed because it was such an issue. I got it without the acid so it’s now grown back very nicely without any issue. But I took the medication for 3 months and had many side effects from it. It was not until after all this that my endocrinologist said I was severely low in Vitamin D3. If the problem arises again, I’ll definitely keep up with this approach. I also have Cushing’s Disease which my insurance won’t let me get an mri on my pituitary. I’ve had a lump on my neck since a child and had stunted growth. A lot of these imbalances affect everything.

I had a toe nail infection and it lasted 7 years. I got it during my second pregnancy so I think pregnancy triggers certain hormonal changes because I live in the Caribbean so I get plenty Vitamin D on a daily basis. I ended up using a topical antifungal gel and it cleared it up completely. NonyX nail gel. I actually did not expect it to work like so many other medications, tablets and home remedies. I got to know about the Nonyx through my sister. The funny thing is my sister was given that to use after she developed some dark pigmentation on her nails during her second pregnancy. When she visited a podiatrist, she was given that medication. Thats how I ended up trying it out.

Shalom Dr. B and thank you for sharing.
I have had fungal infections for maybe 45 plus years. I use to get very bad athletes foot as a young teenager, it was painful to walk during the bad flare-ups; way worse than now.
In my early twenties I think, an old Doctor of mine refused to give me Lamisil for my toenail fungus, because of my AIDS related infection and kidney concerns.
Sometimes, I use castor oil on my toes or I take a hot bath and soak in epsom salt, but normally I have just learned to live with it.
However, attempting to cut the thick white crud from my nails is a very difficult challenge, and sometimes, my toes nails would come off in large amounts.
Recently, certain nails are growing in crooked, one is causing a little pain.
Who would have thought four decades later, and am still here to collect, share and communicate information.
    Shalom

If you put a few drops of Black Walnut Hull tincture on the nail, the fungus dissapears at once. The nail goes normal color from white in one second. Possibly one has to put it once angain, but it seems to be very effective very quick. You can use it for all kinds of fungus and put it into a cat's black ears, it goes away. I put it three times. He stopped scratching and it went clean without cleaning, just with the tincture. I mixed it with Pau'D'Arco tincture, in case it would not work with Black Walnuit alone, and the mixture worked.

I'm 1 month into Diflucan, total 3 months initially. I tried epsom salts, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, lotrimin. My onychomycosis isnt detrimental, but it is off-putting to look at, curves the nail, and keratin build up is obnoxious to trim. Wish me luck✌

Is it sugar or carbohydrates. That's my question.

    • @thefootmodel3482

@mattyh-n5553 I started IF about 4 years ago. In the first year I barely had any carbs or sugar at all. During this time is when my nail fungus disappeared quickly. Probably within 6 months. I'd had it for many many years.
However, once I lost 40 pounds in about that first year I started eating both carbs and sugar. However, nothing like how I did before beginning IF.
I'm not sure the fungus would have gone away if I didn't start my IF on a non keto type diet. I just know ever since I moved to IF on a non keto path it has never came back after 3 years.

@@thefootmodel3482 interesting as this was my theory. Sugars and carbs proliferate cells, and they have been shown to do this with cancer cells too. It's a hard task but one that I may try. Even just cutting down on carbs. 🙏

I was prescribed Turbinefine 250mg for my toe nail fungal infection (8 out of 10 toe nails visibly infected) with regular blood tests to monitor my Liver, it takes a long time to see progress on the nails. I take 4000IU Vit D currently, will try upping dosage to see if it helps more and let people know if it is faster.Ty for the advice as always.

That's an easy one.....add 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to 4 oz of water and drink up....that will rid indigestion, acid reflux and heartburn. The apple cider vinegar will work better than antacids and there are no side effects from wrecking your stomachs microbiome.

Dear Dr Berg, thanks for another informative and straight to the point video. I used to have serious funghal infection between the same two toes on either foot - for years. I treated it with various tinctures, nature products and compounds with varying levels of success. But what I did find - conclusively - is that certain types or 'artificial rubber' plastics bring it back instantly - and I mean within hours if not less following wearing certain boots. The boots can be almost brand new, so I don't think it has nothing to do with reinfection: I cannot ascertain certainly what is going on, and experiments with cut-off toes on these boots (so no foot sweat) brings about the same result. It seems to be *the presence* of the plastic which is the issue - analogous to a quiet allergic reaction. Could plastics really be suppressing the (local/bodily) immune system that fast? It's hard to imagine, but the phenomenon which I have tested again and again, and the results are clear. The best anti funghal cream/treatment is a Russian salve applied topically, which seems to really 'kill off' the infection rather than pushing it into dormancy - I have never read the ingredients, perhaps I ought. Wearing 100% woolen socks mitigates the problem rather well, and of course it's hard to find 100% wool products these days (wool must have added synthetics to become machine knittable) as they can only be handmade - I get mine from friends in Russia. I suspect immuno-repression by certain plastics or their vapours/leeching, yet I can't see how it could take effect so quickly. With best wishes.
