One thing about the IEM Katowice win against ENCE: You can see Dupreeh being given the honor of lifting the trophy alone by the rest of the team 32:25 - because prior to this event, he lost his father to a long battle with cancer. That - to me - is why no one ever stood a chance at that tournament. Astralis won that trophy for Dupreeh's dad

i met astralis back when karrigan was changing teams and right before gla1ve joined. they put up a stand where fans could 1v1 Dev1ce, and if we beat him, we would get a free hoodie and a mouse. i was 11 years old at the time, and i absolutely got shit on, however i still killed him once. but being able to 1v1 my idol and win a round, gave me a start to my semi-professional career. And I am so glad, that Astralis gave me that boost of confidence.

    Great video man.
As a brazilian I hated so much Astralis that time, but as a CS lover it was so nice to see the evolution of the game. They literally changed how the game was played.
Astralis didnt just change the meta, they were able to put so many other orgs in crisis.
So many orgs changing players in between trying to beat them. Liquid was the only one who could put up a "fight", so close but so far.

The smoke thing I'm 50/50 on because my best games (back in the day) I played amazing my worst games (2018-present) I play awful but things like wallbangs and smoke spams are just confidence based. You feel afraid to give away your position just to hit someone 20 in 3 or miss and have an enemy swing you if you are not confident and you got insta hs a few times so it scares you but when you know you can win the fight anyway you are doing smoke spams, the same you know you could if you think an enemy is behind all the time, but you don't risk it to keep your location hidden if you are not confident.

It wasn't mentioned, but almost at the same time as Nvidia image filters, there was a glitch where changing the radar zoom while looking at a smoke would allow the map to show enemies inside it (the red dots). Astralis most likely abused that glitch.
